IF testing & treatment w/o Apr 17

This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ballgame. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.

    Diagnosis (if you've been): RPL

    Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): benched

    What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): waiting for this cycle to end, then surgical hysteroscopy to remove RPOC in May

    How are things going?: It’s been a week. A lot of family stuff from my Nana’s passing. And being on the bench right now is really strange after almost 2 years of TTC. I got a blazing positive OPK yesterday and realized it means nothing. 

    Any questions?: NATM

    GTKY: Have you ever met a celebrity? Which celebrity would you like to meet? I sat next to an NFL player when my ticket got bumped up to first class once, but he was an offensive lineman so not really a celebrity I guess lol. I was out of my mind on anti-anxiety medicine for flying, and he was very nice to me even though I was probably making little sense.

    I haven’t been posting here since we are trying naturally right now, but it’s looking like fixing H’s sleep apnea probably isn’t going to be the miracle cure we were hoping for.

    Diagnosis (if you've been): Unexplained

    Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): Trying naturally this cycle 

    What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Researching to figure out what we want to do going forward

    How are things going?: Idk, H and I are not on the same page about what we want to do, so we definitely have some things to figure out.

    Any questions?: When I first had a consultation with an RE (in my early or mid 20s), she recommended starting with unmedicated IUI (which we didn’t do because we decided to pursue adoption), but then when I had another consultation with the same RE at age 30, she recommended started with a medicated IUI. I’d personally rather try unmedicated first, but will most REs want me to do medicated now that I’m in my 30s?

    I met the violin player for Shania Twain once. I think that’s the closest I’ve come to meeting a celebrity lol.

    Diagnosis (if you've been): RPL, occluded left tube, ama

    Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): WFAF. Officially off the bench but no point to trying until I get my cycle back. 

    What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): did some testing, waiting on results. 

    How are things going?: we bought a house! It’s been a wild week. It was built in 1780, but it was in the school district we wanted (top choice) and in our budget. We can’t afford MOST of the houses in this town, but the schools are amazing. The house is 2200 sq feet, four bedrooms and has so many historic features.

    GTKY: Have you ever met a celebrity? Which celebrity would you like to meet? Dylan Bruno (numbers, haven etc) I used to work with his uncle and he would stop by periodically with his wife and kids when they were in town. Totally ruined those shows for me 😂 he is much shorter than you think! I don’t know why I expected him to be taller 😂 and yes, he’s equally as goofy as the characters he plays.

    @britters314 I’m sorry you’re not on the same page as your husband. That’s always hard.

    @charmedlifex3 Congratulations on the house! Love that old New England charm (old being the key word!)

    Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): IVF ICSI

    What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Still waiting...DH had his ultrasound last week and now he's on the waiting list for TESE procedure.

    How are things going?: It's not bad, just feeling a bit anxious. Our medical loan company keeps asking when our starting date is and I'm like 🤷‍♀️

    Not really a celebrity but I once met a retired CFL player through work. He was active in like the 1960s-70s though so even my dad who is an avid football fan didn't know who he was hah.

    Edit: Totally random question but does TB still have admins? I was lurking through past posts and noticed that some were closed without the admin saying something about unwelcoming tone or breaking TOS rules.

    @charmedlifex3 congrats on the house! We are also hoping to officially own our first home this year. Another thing we have been patiently waiting for.
