1st Trimester

Viral Fever at 4 weeks pregnant

Yesterday I recently just came down with a viral fever - thought I was having bad allergies until I broke out in fever of 101.5. This morning it’s gone down to 100. I’ve only taken Tylenol which helps the aches but I’m worried that this is going to effect my pregnancy (based on what google says which is that it’s bad to get a fever in the first trimester). Has anyone else gotten a fever this early on with pregnancy and their baby been okay?

  • Will you book in to see a doctor? The first trimester is always scary since everything is so new, especially if it's your first pregnancy. Even just call your local health hotline or find an online doctor (if your location has them) just to have peace of mind and lessen the stress you are already under dealing with a fever. Hope you feel better soon!

  • Check with your obgyn, but honestly there is nothing that can be done.  It happens.  It's just good to let your doctor know for future reference.
