The Bloating is Real!!

Is anyone else extremely bloated super early?? I'm only 4 weeks 6 days and on progesterone suppositories as a precaution and I feel HUGE! I'm trying to hide this pregnancy until much further along due to 9 previous losses and I feel like people are going to notice. I also have diastis recti which I am sure is contributing. Should I start exercising? I gained wayyyyy too much with my daughter in 2014 and I don't want to do that again. For comparison, before and today. You can see the diastis recti in the before too 🥴

Re: The Bloating is Real!!

  • Yes so bloated!! And now my biggest symptom is painful trapped gas 😣. Was not expecting the symptoms I’ve had so early on at all.

  • I have this too, I find if I lay in child's pose for a bit with my bum up in the air it helps relieve the pressure (and sometimes the gas also escapes, so be careful who's listening 😅)
  • This is so me too!! I have never had this much bloating with any of my pregnancies!! I’m trying to eat slower, but I need to eat often to keep the sick away.. between trying to slow down and eat often the digestion is so slow and it bloats up after my first meal! I just grabbed some lemon ginger tea to help ease the digestion process.
  • Yes! Same here! I’m super bloated all the time!
  • Same here .. I am super bloated and my dresses don’t fit. Is this normal for 8 weeks ?
  • @knottie... It can be totally normal, even before a baby bump shows. If they are slim fitting/tailored I'd say totally to be expected. With both my pregnancies i didn't gain that much weight in first trimester because of morning sickness but was bloated and some pants became uncomfortable and too tight to wear. Everyone's body changes differently during pregnancy though so there's really no "normal" about when exactly your clothes start fitting differently.

As long as you are eating/drinking fine and you aren't having too much stomach issues it's fine, but you can always bring it up with your doctor/prenatal care team .
  • The bloat is SO real. I ate a bean chalupa from Taco Bell last week and legitimately looked like I was 6 months pregnant. I *think* that things are starting to even out now at 11 weeks, but man. It's rough.

  • Having my first, due October 4th. It can really make things uncomfortable. I find that laying on my left side helps to release some of the pressure. The things we go through for our babies. Snacks all day instead of meals also helps. Being too full on top of bloated is just asking for problems. Just remember the end goal, everything we go through will be worth it.
  • All I can say is stool softeners are my best friend. The only thing has 100% helped my bloating and trapped gas and allowed me to sleep through the night without pain.
