2nd Trimester

Baby Kicking

Hi everyone,
I’ll be 28 weeks on Tuesday. I definitely feel baby kick throughout the day but it’s not consistent. I don’t feel her all day long. There are hours where I don’t. There are days when I feel very strong kicks and days where I can’t distinguish whether they’re kicks or not but there are feelings in my stomach.  It may be more important to note that I have an anterior placenta. What do you think? Should I see my midwife

Re: Baby Kicking

  • You do realize that baby needs to sleep, and chill out, like we do -  they do not kick hard when sleeping.  Also they are not always facing forward they may be kicking toward the spine. Baby still has plenty of room to move.

  • Totally normal. I generally try not to worry about movement too much until half way through the 3rd trimester. I had an anterior placenta with one and felt him super early then not again for forever. I have never requested an US before 20 weeks and went to have one with him as I was worried.
When they run out of room you'll feel everything, even with the anterior placenta.
  • I get the same anxieties and I'm at 26+5 weeks. Some days she's super active and then sometimes I feel like i barely feel her. I also have an anterior placenta, so maybe that could be part of both our issues? I try not to stress over it but plan to bring it up to my ob at my next appointment. Maybe just bring it up at your next appointment, or if its not soon enough you can send her a message?
  • Im now 29 weeks and rest assured even if you aren’t feeling her, she’s moving. I went to labor and delivery because there was a day I barely felt her if at all and was super concerned. They booked me up to that stress test monitor thing and sure enough she was kicking the whole time and I just wasn’t feeling it
