Re: TFAS w/o Mar 27

  • What number are you trying for? 3, but first two are adopted / being adopted

    Month/Cycle? 4/4

WTO/TWW? I think I’m probably 2DPO, but I could still be WTO, so idk

    Ages of other child(ren)? 4 and 5

Any thoughts about this cycle? Sick during fertile week sucks. If I am 2 DPO, our only timing was -4, which isn’t great but at least better than nothing

    Any questions? Nope

Rant/Rave? Like I said, I’m sick again… Also, I only had one day of fertile CM this cycle. Now, it could be because I didn’t actually O, but it just really feels like something is working against us.

GTKY: What is the last book you read / are currently reading? I’m into non-fiction lately and right now I’m reading Blood Money by Kathleen McLaughlin. It’s about the plasma industry and it’s pretty interesting.

    Month/Cycle? 3/2

    WTO/TWW? WTO

    Ages of other child(ren)? 4, 1.75

Any thoughts about this cycle? Meh. Off to a slow start. Should have more info Thursday.

    Any questions? Nope.

Rant/Rave? Mostly solo parenting this week and I have the schedules figured out, but it’s tight. One day in and so far so good.

GTKY: What is the last book you read / are currently reading? I’m in the middle of the Invisible Library series. Stumbled on this one but it’s actually pretty fun.

@britters314 sick at all sucks, let alone during FW, especially when it’s the late winter/early spring cold and the end is in sight… hope you feel better soon and that your timing was good enough!
  • @halfanewt good luck solo parenting!

What number are you trying for? 2

    Month/Cycle? 6/5

    WTO/TWW? TWW 5DPO

    Ages of other child(ren)? 3

Any thoughts about this cycle? We had pretty good timing. It's been interesting to see how my temps line up with OPKs. But I'll be fine either way.

    Any questions? Nope

Rant/Rave? Hubby is staying home friday and monday to help with spring cleaning which will be a blessing and a curse. He's a machine and crazy when he gets into cleaning mode.

GTKY: What is the last book you read / are currently reading? I picked up Circe by Madeline Miller. It's really good so far. Interested to see where it'll go. I've DNF so many books after ACOTAR because they have been just so bad and poorly written. And while I realize ACOTAR isn't great writing either, like the bar in on the floor then so if people love these other books that the suggest against ACOTAR wtf. LOL.

After this I plan on picking up The Roots of Chaos Duology by Samantha Shannon.

IF anyone has some high fantasy, fantasy, fantasy romance book recs I'm all ears.

  • What number are you trying for? 2

    Month/Cycle? 5/5

WTO/TWW? Today is probably O day based on my hormone test results, but I won’t know for sure until later this week.

    Ages of other child(ren)? 2.5

Any thoughts about this cycle? We visited my husband’s family 1-1/2 hours away this past weekend. They watched our daughter while we went to a fancy restaurant- our first real date in a long time! Got us in the mood to TTC, so good timing there.

    Any questions? No.

Rant/Rave? This weekend’s travel schedule threw me way off our dinner planning- I totally forgot to thaw the chicken for yesterday’s supper, so takeout it was.

GTKY: What is the last book you read / are currently reading? “The Storm Before the Storm: The Beginning of the End of the Roman Republic” by Mike Duncan. A fascinating read for a history nerd like me, and proof positive that despite all of our efforts to find more peaceful and equitable forms of government, humans have not changed one bit.
  • @stashattack H made me read ACOTAR recently because he liked it and idk if I can trust his judgement on books anymore since that book was so awful lol

@britters314  I was thinking of reading that book! From what I’ve heard, people either really love it or really dislike it. Still not sure what I’ll do. Maybe if I’m ever bored and run out of books on my Kindle, which is extremely unlikely since I have over 100 unread books. 😂

    Hope you feel better soon!

@stashattack. Yay for great timing - and for husbands who pitch in with the cleaning duties! Have you ever read “The Perilous Gard” by Elizabeth Marie Pope? It’s a historical fantasy based in 1550s England and written for a young adult audience, but definitely enjoyable for adults as well (especially history nerds like yours truly). Plus, it was a Newbery Award finalist, so that speaks to the quality of the writing.  I also recommend the Chalion series (also known as “World of the Five Gods”) by Lois McMaster Bujold, if you haven’t read those - especially the first one (“The Curse of Chalion”). They’re geared more toward an adult audience and won the Hugo Award for Best Series. (Note to self: pick up the fourth book, which I didn’t realize had come out after I finished the first three!)
  • @britters314 😹😹 yeah I get that. I like it as an easy read. I slammed through the series and it got me back into read real books over fanfic in years. But definitely not great writing or world building. 🙈

@geekprincess26 I'll definitely check both of those series out!! Thanks for the recs!

    Month/Cycle? 4/4

    WTO/TWW? WTO CD1

    Ages of other child(ren)? 2

Any thoughts about this cycle? Hopeful! Our timing has sucked the last 2 months, so hoping this month we can do better.

    Any questions? Nope

Rant/Rave? Mentioned this in WTO as well but I recently signed up for a roller derby bootcamp! Our local league does bootcamps twice a year and will teach you how to skate and then if you graduate bootcamp you can join the league and learn to actually play the game. I was nervous but am loving it. I've fallen a million times and am so sore but it feels so good to be active and everyone is so nice and fun. I don't get to do much like this for myself so it's really nice to have one night a week just for me.

GTKY: What is the last book you read / are currently reading? Currently re-reading Flock by Kate Stewart (this series is so good but breaks my heart) and reading Credence by Penelope Douglas.

@britters314 sorry to hear you are sick! FX you feel better soon!

@halfanewt that book sounds interesting!! Good luck solo parenting.

@stashattack I love ACOTAR! It's not the greatest writing ever, lol, but I still love it. Since you enjoyed - I recommend From Blood and Ash, and also SJMs other series TOG and Crescent City. Also the Plated Prisoner series.

@geekprincess26 so nice you guys got to have a date night! We are long overdue for one of those as well, lol.
  • @bserena I'll check those out. I know a local acquaintance here does roller derby and loves it. :) It looks like such a fun sport!
