Hi Mamas! FTM here and after much research I still can’t decide which breast pump to get. Curious what you mamas are getting and thoughts you may have.
I exclusively pumped not by choice for my second. I used the Medela Harmony, which is a hand pump. I tried a couple different electric pumps (Medela and Ameda) and did not have success with them. I kind of wish I’d tried a Spectra as that seems to get the best reviews, but oh well. What seemed to really help with the manual pump was being able to adjust the length of the squeeze. All the electric pumps I’m aware of, when you slow it down, it goes from squeeze … squeeze … squeeze to squeeze . squeeze . squeeze. Where with a manual pump, you can go squeeze squeeze squeeze or squeeeeeeeze squeeeeeeeze squeeeeeeze if that makes sense.
I’ve had Spectra for both kiddos so far and will likely get one for this one as well, unless I can find a mobile-option one to throw in the mix and use with my spectra one when I need to not be attached to an outlet. Also fully recommend getting a hands-free pumping bra with your pumps! I got one off Amazon that made a world of a difference!
@sunshine2417 I really liked my Motif Luna pump. It’s pretty small , works well , and battery powered. I noticed my insurance didn’t cover the battery powered spectra but it did cover the Motif.
I used the baby Buddha with Freemies cups and it is great. The pump is powerful and the cups you can put into a regular nursing bra. You don’t have to buy a special one. You can wear the pump and be able to still do things around the house!
