1st Trimester

6 weeks and extreme fatigue

This is my third pregnancy and it’s been about 4 years since I’ve been pregnant with my last. I have been extremely tired, sleeping a few more hours at night than I usually do and taking naps in the middle of the day which is not like me at all. I am wondering if it’s my age? I am 38 and i also homeschool my 5.5 and 3.5 year old. I dropped coffee altogether mainly because the taste of it is making me gag, because my nausea has been pretty bad worse than with my first two. I am wondering if there are any kind of healthy energy boosts anyone reccomends? I used to have a drink in the mornings that gave me sustained energy throughout the day but I stopped drinking it when I found out I was pregnant just in case.

  • I mean you can have 200mg of caffeine a day. But yes I remember napping a ton with my first during the first trimester. It's completely normal. I was 27 when I was pregnant with her.

  • I'm more tired and nauseous with my second pregnancy and I'm 33 yrs old. I've been drinking teas with caffeine in them which is easier to stomach than coffee in my opinion. I love coffee, but by week 6 i couldnt even smell it without feeling sick. I haven't found any other energy booster I feel safe with yet.
