Baby boy name help!!

We both really love the name Wells but we recently told some family members and their reaction was not what we were hoping for. What is your honest opinion? Helppp!!!

    I don't really get the appeal of Wells. Maybe Wesley.

    It's a bit odd in my opinion, but as someone who chose a super odd/unique name for my son, you may find everyone loves it once he arrives. We weren't telling people his name but my sister tried to pry it out of me (and sort of did without me specifically confirming she had guessed it). She didn't like it and said (not enthusiastically) that she'd have to get used it. We still get the occasional negative comment but oh well. Family loves him and his name and that's what matters.

    If you like it, use it.

    Or, is there a longer name that family finds appealing but could have Wells as a nickname? For example I have a coworker whose son is Keller but she calls him Kels too.

    Decidualization score biopsy | 10.1.21 | abnormal - low score of 1; endometrial scratch recommended and progesterone supplementation
    Saline sono | 10.15.21 | normal
    Bloodwork | 10.21.21 | high TSH, high testosterone, positive for anti-nuclear antibodies and histone antibodies, high protein S, multiple genetic mutations
    BFP! | 11.3.21 | EDD 7.14.22 B) | biopsy provided same effect as endometrial scratch; added supplemental progesterone and estrogen, prednisone, levothyroxine, and MTX Support to maintain pregnancy
    DS born 7.19.22 after induction


    TTC #2 begins 6.2023
    Consultation with RI | 6.6.23
    Saline sono, endometritis biopsy, skin & eye check | all normal
    Labs | high TSH, Factor XIII mutation, high %CD56
    Follow up | 8.8.23 | prescribed metformin, prednisone, plaquenil, and levothyroxine
    Repeat labs after 3 weeks on meds
    Follow up | 11.9.23 | Green light!, increase in prednisone, added lovenox
    Repeat labs in 8 weeks
    Follow up | 1.16.24 | Green light continues
    TTC ended due to filing divorce

    Wells, to me, feels like it’s trying too hard to be trendy or “aesthetic”. Like a name I’d see on Pinterest and think, wow they were really out of ideas when they came to that one. 

    Phonetically, there’s nothing I hate about it. It isn’t hard to say, it’s easy to spell, it’s simple overall. 

    If you love it and it means something to you, go for it, but I think there are many more names that you could choose that would suit a person better.

    It's all about how you feel about it. This is one reason I've been holding back on telling people names. I don't want their reaction to influence my and my partner's decision. It's your decision, not theirs. Good luck!

    I love it. It is actually a family name down the way. I have a cousin who used it for her daughter's middle name. I don't tell anyone the names we are thinking because their opinions don't change mine and then when you name the child that name you know how they feel about the name. It shouldn't matter what others think. It's a strong name. 
    If you love it, use it!
