    EDD/Weeks + days: 13w5d

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Blue! 💙

Baby is the size of a(n): potsticker

Upcoming appointments: check in with OB tomorrow. I’m enjoying that he’s seeing me every two weeks.

How are you feeling? Feeling good. I thiiiiiiink I’m starting to feel little flutters and kicks but I also can’t decide if I’m imagining it either 😂. Just glad to be in the second trimester and knowing I’m growing a healthy baby.

Raves/Rants: I had a couple students ask if I was pregnant today (their parents work in the district so I’m friends with them on FB). So the news is out at school amongst some of my students but they are ridiculously happy for me. I expect given how news travels, all of my kids will know by the end of the week.

    Questions: not at the moment

GTKY: What was the last good book you read? The latest Outlander book (Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone). Haven’t finished it yet but am thoroughly enjoying.

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out, not soon enough!

Baby is the size of a(n): no idea. Apple or pear…🤷🏻‍♀️

    Upcoming appointments: 3/10

How are you feeling? Not as tired but I have been stuck at home since last Wednesday not doing a lot. I have moments where I’m really tired. I am not really nauseous anymore! Which is great.

Raves/Rants: Our power went out due to an ice storm last Wednesday and we were out until Sunday. We still don’t have internet and they cannot come until tomorrow to look at it. It was the longest weekend ever because the kids were both home from Wednesday until today. My husband still went into work the whole time because they had power. We had a generator hooked up so we had heat and the fridge running but it was still a pain and none of us slept well because the generator was so loud. Glad to be past it but I don’t want to do that again.

    Questions: none

GTKY: What was the last good book you read?  The Hive by Gregg Olsen. I stumbled upon it on Kindle and couldn’t put it down. I read it in the Fall. I don’t make time to read for fun usually, so I haven’t picked up a book since. Hoping to find something good to read while up late with this little one.

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: blue

Baby is the size of a(n): pear

Upcoming appointments: MFM ultrasound tomorrow and a midwife appointment next week.

How are you feeling? Still recovering from the stomach bug. Other than that, I’m feeling fine.

    Raves/Rants:

    Questions:

GTKY: What was the last good book you read?  I got in a book hole so I started listening to the Twilight series on Audible.
  • @justyouraveragemama I’m also having cravings that I can’t quench because the food is from a town we used to live in across the country. I have that book but haven’t sat down to read it yet. I guess I need to if it’s really good. I’m in a book hole and need a good one.

    EDD/Weeks + days: I’ll be 16w tomorrow

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: blue

Baby is the size of a(n): naval orange

Upcoming appointments: nothing till March 15. (ETA: actually I moved my appt to March 6. Somehow my 16w checkup was going to happen when I was 18w ?? So thankfully they had room to get me in sooner)

How are you feeling?  I feel great mostly. Sleep is better than it was in the first trimester but still not reliable. The gagging is still there when I brush my teeth or see something gross. Otherwise I’m eating a ton and have a good amount of energy.

Raves/Rants: Rant - this is random but I’m having issues with maternity clothes. I bought these jeans from old navy that look cute but they fall down and I’m always hiking them up. Since I WFH I’ve been getting by with leggings this winter and am trying to hold off on buying a spring wardrobe for a few more weeks. Everything is ugly or expensive and I just want someone to style my pregnancy so I don’t have to think about it.

    Questions:

GTKY: What was the last good book you read? I love reading and the most recent great book I read is called Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead.
  • @emeraldcity603 I had a hard time getting into it when it first came out BUT I also downloaded the e-book. It wasn’t until I got the book from the library that it sucked me in and I read it in a day while camping lol
  • @justyouraveragemama I have become addicted to audiobooks. So I may see if I can find it on audio first.
  • EDD/Weeks + days: 8/31; will be 14 weeks tomorrow

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Girl

Baby is the size of a(n): peach?

    Upcoming appointments: upcoming on Monday

How are you feeling? Headaches, though not sure if that's bc of pregnancy or family stress (everything good w DH and I, but issues in our families of origin)

Raves/Rants: rave - food tastes SO GOOD right now!!

    Questions: None right now

GTKY: What was the last good book you read? Running While Black. I'm not a runner but a good friend is and recommended it.
  • EDD/Weeks + days: 17+2

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n):pomegranate

Upcoming appointments: OB march 17, therapist march 8, Perinatal psychologist on waitlist, hopefully soon

How are you feeling? Physically great, mentally terrible. Did you know prenatal depression is a thing? I didn’t. It’s essentially postpartum depression just while you are pregnant.

Raves/Rants: I finally broke down and told my husband and friends how I’ve been feeling (we have a group chat of all the moms with due dates this summer) everyone has been really supportive. One of the girls came over and brought me flowers yesterday, one of the others referred me to this perinatal psychologist. Planning on talking to my manager tomorrow, I’m supposed to take a student for the next two months and I’m not sure I can handle it right now.

    Questions:

GTKY: What was the last good book you read? Daughter of the Reich by Louise Fein, it’s really good but pretty heavy as it’s about WW2, I’m about halfway through and had to take a break for now
  • @lizdiane456 prenatal depression can be a precursor to PPD. So I would just keep that in mind.
  • EDD/Weeks + days: august 27th 14weeks + 3days

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): peach or orange

Upcoming appointments: my NT genetic test showed positive for Down syndrome at 1:190 my ultrasound was negative so midwife isn’t to worried but ohip will now cover ntip so all get that blood test tomorrow

How are you feeling? Exhausted, emotionally and physically today

Raves/Rants: how long it takes for specialist/doctors to call you back

Questions: any body else go through something similar?

GTKY: What was the last good book you read? Can’t even remember I Normally love to read but it’s been crazy lately
  • @lizdiane456 Glad you are getting plugged in for help. I felt similar during my last pregnancy and therapy was extremely helpful. Don't be afraid to see a psychiatrist as well if needed (reproductive womens mental health psychiatrists are extremely skilled and super great about discussing risks/benefits of treatments!!)
  • @estadt I haven’t been through anything exactly similar, but my DS’s newborn screening came up positive for a rare genetic disorder. I remember the shock and uncertainty at the time (and resulting PPD from it). Thinking of you. Sometimes it can take a couple weeks to hear from specialists or get lab results. I hope you have someone supportive you can talk to.

    EDD/Weeks + days: 17w5d

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out!

Baby is the size of a(n): pomegranate? All these fruits are not helpful lol

Upcoming appointments: next one is 20w and anatomy scan

How are you feeling? Starting to be worn down- hip pain, getting tired easily- where is my second trimester energy?- and constipation are my main ailments. Fortunately, my appetite is normal again after being sick and I’m not having as much insomnia.

Raves/Rants: I was mostly lurking last week because we had a family emergency.

    Questions:

GTKY: What was the last good book you read? I read the Golden Compass trilogy sometime within the last year. I’ve read a few other things since then, but I enjoyed that series.
  • @tumbleweed-1 Thanks, I have been. Able to get on top of all of them and now have things lined up. I am trying to not worry until I have a confirmed reason to. Which is easier said then done, I got my midwives to send the recommendation to my gp, got my go to sign it and fax it to the lab I am going in 1 hour to do the test then they said results should be 7days (but we will see I know they can take longer)
  • @lizdiane456 oh girl. So many hugs. I had antepartum depression my first pregnancy and that was a DARK place to be. I came out of it with a lot of prayer and the help of an amazing counselor, but not knowing what the hell was wrong with me for a while was one of the hardest parts, and even just getting a name for it helped so much. This time around I recognized my trigger points, went back to what my counselor had given me last time, and gave myself a lot more grace -- and stayed on the Zoloft I started for PPD at three weeks with my daughter. Way, way different experience. I can't recommend counseling enough, but it's also ok to give it a 1-2 punch of counseling + meds. It does subside, but is definitely a precursor to PPD, which was nice to know because I was way more vigilant (and gave myself a lot more grace and a lot shorter leash before seeking help) and that let me get the PPD under control much sooner than I probably would have otherwise. But this is a tough place to be, and you have my creepy internet hugs as well as an ear to talk (type?) to if it's easier to unload to a stranger.
  • @lizdiane456 I’m so glad you’re getting support ❤️ I went through awful antenatal anxiety with my first pregnancy (ended in m/c). I ended up seeing a psychiatrist who specializes in pregnancy/postpartum, a therapist, and on medication. It was a deep whole to dig out of but I got better and the following pregnancies and PP have been wonderful experiences. I still see the psychiatrist even though I’m no longer on mediation, maybe every 6 months, just to stay on her panel bc I love and value her so much. I hope it gets better for you and we’re here if you need us. Everyone talks about PPD but not pregnancy, so that’s why it threw me for a flip. She said it’s just as common. We’re experiencing a huge life change and hormonal shifts just like during PP.
  • EDD/Weeks + days: 18w5d 8/2

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Green

Baby is the size of a(n): Cucumber

Upcoming appointments: 3/9 anatomy scan! I'm excited to see baby, but also amazed I'm here already.

How are you feeling? Really good. A little more RL pain than I had with my first, but I think I probably just was able to rest more when it popped up and I'm also growing quicker this time around too. Chiro really helps when it aggravates me.

Raves/Rants: Rave: we just got back from our little family trip to the beach and my daughter did great on the two flights down there. Rant: she did not on the two flights back

    Questions:

GTKY: What was the last good book you read? I have a few. I really liked Lessons in Chemistry, Wrong Place Wrong Time, and The Change
  • EDD/Weeks + days: 8/10 // 18+some days

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: pink!

Baby is the size of a(n): avocado? I call BS.

Upcoming appointments: boutique ultrasound to let my daughter "meet" her baby sister on Tuesday! Then actual appointment a week later.

How are you feeling? TIRED but that's life not pregnancy.

Raves/Rants: I just want a vacation. So tired of being the "on" parent 24/7 for the last 10 days basically. I know that's what I signed up for as a mom but man...it's exhausting to have no downtime.

    Questions:

GTKY: What was the last good book you read? Dang, it's been so long since I got to just sit and read. I love to re-read The Witch of Blackbird Pond every year or two (first read it I think in 6th grade but it's still so good). I love apologetics so Mere Christianity is one to read and reread a lot too. Otherwise...do cookbooks count?
  • @ki1244 have you heard of Mama Bear Apologetics? Me and a few friends are reading it together and it’s really good.
  • @emeraldcity603 they have a podcast, right? I've listened a few times to that while I do dishes at night (since actual sit-down, in-depth Bible study is a discipline I've been embarrassingly terrible about since my daughter was born, I do at least try to listen to sermons or podcasts when I can). Didn't realize they had written materials too!
  • @ki1244 They have a podcast and a study guide that goes with their book. I think the book is great. I have been trying to put a lot of it into practice with my older kids. I have been inconsistent with my own Bible study and I need to get back to it. I do a family Bible study with the kids during the week and we do evening devotionals with my husband before putting the kids to bed. I definitely still need that personal quiet time though.
