8w - Painful cramps and spotting

Hi! 
Just looking for reassurance or if someone has ever had a similar experience. 
I started having cramps on and off the last 3 days and they are really similar to period cramps. Spotting also which is synchronized to the cramps. 

I went to see a doctor yesterday, they did an ultrasound. Found a heartbeat, it's in the uterus, nothing seems out of place but.. THE PAIN! And I'm bloated like I'm 6mo pregnant  😵

Anybody had a similar experience?

    Although I haven’t experienced any spotting at all, the cramping has been happening for me since almost week 5.  For me it’s been about every other day or so.  The very first time it happened, it was so severe that I was convinced I was miscarrying because I had had the exact same pain when I miscarried in June. A had another (almost as) severe episode a few days later, but nothing that bad since then and I am now 8 weeks. My ultrasound last week showed a very happy little bean, with nothing abnormal to note. No cyst, no fibroid, nothing at all to explain why these cramps are so bad!! 
    However, as long as they’re nothing to worry about, I will gladly endure them every day until birth if it means a healthy baby. 

    Ps. The bloat is so bad. I look like I’m 5 months along LOL
