FTM/STM/TTM+: EDD / Weeks + Days: Baby is the size of a: Team blue/pink/green: Upcoming Appointments: How are you feeling?: Rants/Raves: Questions: GTKY: What was your first job?
FTM/STM/TTM+: 4TM (still cannot believe that) EDD / Weeks + Days: 6/2, 26+3 Baby is the size of a: Team blue/pink/green: pink Upcoming Appointments: OB 3/1 How are you feeling?: good! I've had some annoying sciatica pain, but other than that I'm feeling pretty great Rants/Raves: I have a huge interview this afternoon at 4:00 and I'm SO NERVOUS about it. It's for the job I've been working towards (and basically apprenticing in) for the past 6 years. They're doing a full national search, which I understand, but also kind of stings and just makes me feel like crap. So I'm trying to pump myself up and remind myself that I'm the best person for the job. Questions: When are we supposed to start all the cervical ripening stuff? I know it probably doesn't work and I'm just fooling myself to think that eating dates and drinking RRL tea makes any kind of difference, but it feels good to feel *some* semblance of control, especially when all my kids are born late. (Obviously this only applies to those of us who are not at risk for pre-term labor - not worth risking if you are high risk) GTKY: What was your first job? Other than like babysitting, my first job when I was 16 was at a super bougie baby boutique. Grandmothers would come in with their black AmExs and ask me to wrap up one of every girl item we had in stock in 0-3 months and then would go next door to get their hair done and come back to pick up piles and piles of packages. It was so insane, but I absolutely loved it.
@BourbonBiscuits gooood luck, friend! I’m sure it’s a formality and you’re gonna rock it! And that first job sounds awesome- my sister did something similar in college.
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM EDD / Weeks + Days: May 6, but she’ll be here by 5/1; 30 (!) + 2 Baby is the size of a: zucchini Team blue/pink/green: pink Upcoming Appointments: Friday, for a normal every 2 week appointment- crazy that we’re here already. How are you feeling?: good. Just feel her all day every day in my hips, especially when I wake up. Rants/Raves: loving all the movement 💕 it’s my favorite part and I’ll miss it when she’s born, since this is our last. Questions: nothing GTKY: What was your first job? Other than babysitting, I worked the kids’ stand at the local minor league baseball stand. Everything was $1, and that red punch used to stain EVERYTHING! Lol 😂
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM EDD / Weeks + Days: May 5 / 30W3D Baby is the size of a: zucchini or large head of lettuce Team blue/pink/green: blue Upcoming Appointments: biweekly check-in 3/10 How are you feeling?: better now that baby has rotated fully head-down! His head was up against the left side of my pelvis for about a week but it resolved overnight. Rants/Raves: MIL took DD for the weekend so DH could repaint her room and paint the baby's nursery. The good news is DD's room looks perfect...the bad news is the baby's room needs to be redone because the paint we selected couldn't adequately cover the decades-old yellow. Questions: nope GTKY: What was your first job? I worked at a Plato's Closet in the mid-2000s. We never took in leggings, pants with knees wider than the ankle hem, or pants with more than a nine-inch rise
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM EDD / Weeks + Days: 5/5, 30+3 Baby is the size of a: zucchini Team blue/pink/green: blue Upcoming Appointments: regular OB on Thursday How are you feeling?: I’ve officially entered the “aches and pains” phase of pregnancy and I’m not a fan. If I’m sitting or laying down too long, my hips hurt. If I’m standing too long, my back hurts. I just keep raising and lowering my desk all day long. Rants/Raves: none Questions: for my GD mamas, has it been your experience that you definitely get induced early? The diabetes center nurse mentioned it in my class last week, but I’m not sure if that’s just her experience or what. I’ll of course ask the doc when I see her later this week but I’m curious. GTKY: What was your first job? Besides babysitting, I was a lifeguard for one summer and I hated it. The community pool was 2 houses down the street, and I was a swimmer, so it only seemed logical. But I hated being responsible for people’s lives at 15. So the next summer (and all through college) I worked at the pool snack bar instead. Way lower stakes and all the French fries you wanted!
@BourbonBiscuits good luck! You’re going to crush it! For cervical ripening, I’ve read different things for different techniques, but most seemed to be from 37 weeks on.
@courtney701 I have GD this time and will be induced at 39 weeks, but it’s bc I have a history of high blood pressure with my son. Not sure if they would without that or not. I do know I have to have weekly growth scans for her, to make sure she’s not growing too much or too quickly.
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM EDD / Weeks + Days: May 24/27 weeks, 5 days Baby is the size of a: head of lettuce Team blue/pink/green: pink Upcoming Appointments: none this week, next one is March 8th How are you feeling?: my belly feels heavy today which feels weird to say considering she’s about 2 pounds Rants/Raves: My mom came out to stay for a long weekend. It was so nice to have her here. Questions: none GTKY: What was your first job? I worked at a shoe store right after high school. The employee discount was nice but I do not miss retail!
@courtney701 not a GD mamma myself but a friend of mine was with her daughter and was not induced
How are you feeling?: Meh, still not great. Threw up yesterday and still have this fun reflux. Blergh.
Rants/Raves: Work has been stressful trying to prepare for maternity leave, but I'm glad that the busyness is making time go by quickly at least. Less than 12 weeks now!
Questions: Not today
GTKY: What was your first job? I was a merchandiser at Sears. Set up displays, changed signs for sales, etc. It was a weird first job, but fun!
How are you feeling?: Wide. I did not watch my eating or workout regularly like I'd told myself I should, so I'm trying to dedicate myself to more movement for third trimester and hope that helps.
Rants/Raves: I got a UTI and was treated for 7 days. 3 days after the antibiotics were gone, I'm back in urgent care (of course it's on a weekend) because my symptoms returned and, although the numbers were better, still indicated I have a UTI. So I got another 5 days of a different antibiotic.
Questions: Not currently.
GTKY: What was your first job? Lifeguard at the local mud hole. I kept that job for 5 summers and eventually transitioned into teaching swimming lessons, which I still do from time to time.
@courtney701 definitely check with your doctor but I had GD with my son and I was not induced until I went over 41wks. With him I just managed the GD with diet and he was not big; at birth he was 6lbs 14oz. I think it all depends on how it’s effecting your health and baby’s health.
Upcoming Appointments: Next Monday for regular pre-natal. I've been having heart palpitations too, which I've had for years but they've increased with the pregnancy (which I expected would happen) but I have to wear a 24 hour holter monitor and then do a scan. That's in a couple of weeks.
How are you feeling?: Pretty good! We set up some things in the nursery yesterday and I had pain in my lower right back after. I've had pain there consistently since probably week 16 or so. Not sure why it's only on one side!
Rants/Raves: We started prenatal classes on Monday. It was really exciting! That and setting up the nursery makes everything feel more real!
Questions: Has anyone had experience with heart palpitations during pregnancy? My heart literally feels like it skips a beat. Sometimes it's just random but stress does cause it to happen more. I'm wondering if it will happen a lot during labor. I don't usually get them when exercising though.
GTKY: What was your first job? After babysitting I worked at the local grocery store, Lowe's Foods. I didn't really like it so I quit after maybe a year and my next job was at a new daycare center that had just opened up where I worked with the "waddlers" between 1 year and 18 months. I loved it!
Also, if anyone wants to give me a like in the Facebook migration thread that would be great because I would love to join the private FB group. I'm trying to be more active now! I want to make the March 10th cut off date!
How are you feeling?: Back pain has been getting worse but feeling good other than that.
Rants/Raves: I’ve had ultrasounds every 2 weeks since about 12w. They have been coding them incorrectly so each scan is over $800, that’s over $13k 😩 my husband won’t show me the exact bill because I will have a panic attack. He’s going to deal with that on 3/8 at my next scan.
Questions: NATM
GTKY: What was your first job? Technically motocross since I was 5. Church daycare & program coordinator for a homeless center in my late teens to early 20s. Now a stay at home mom with a custom cookie business (on pause since I’m pregnant & high risk)
@seahawkinspain yes, I’ve also had a few while TTC but I was on medication to get pregnant. Our bodies are pumping more blood than we are use to so I can happen. But please bring it up to your doctor in the case of something more serious.
Baby is the size of a: ummm no idea, maybe zucchini?
Team blue/pink/green: green
Upcoming Appointments: OB tomorrow where I was told they'll also schedule my next ultrasound.
How are you feeling?: Also definitely into the uncomfortable stage and I'm starting to get tired way easier. Been dealing with more frequent migraines this time around too, which totally sucks.
Rants/Raves: could be either I guess... My in laws are coming for the weekend and just told us today. Will be nice for them to spend some time with DD, but I'm not really feeling the energy for hosting people.
Questions: anyone else getting vertigo? I spent a good portion of the weekend dizzy...
GTKY: What was your first job? I worked on my parents blueberry farm picking blueberries ever summer. First one outside of the farm was the typical high school McDonald's job.
@seahawkinspain I actually ended up getting a EKG done a few weeks ago due to chest pains and they told me I have a slight arithmea, which my OB said can be common in pregnancy. So I would say get checked out if you are at all worried, but pregnancy does do some pretty crazy things to our body and our heart does work a ton harder even just at rest while pregnant.
@jeep4x4mom I did bring it up at my last appointment and she referred me to a cardiologist. That's why I have to have a heart monitor and another scan. The EKG was clear. He didn't seem too worried about it. I'm not either, since I've had them for years now, but I agree, it's good to check!
And how stressful for you that they are charging so much for scans! I pray you can get it figured out. It sounds like it was their mistake so hopefully you can. Try not to worry (easier said than done I know)
@caroduke oh interesting. My EKG was normal, and it can be hard to catch a palpitation on an EKG because they are over so quick. That's probably why I have to do the 24 hour monitor. I usually have at least one a day so they will probably catch one. I know our hearts are working a lot harder and I've read that palpitations are more common. But it's always good to get it checked out!
Baby is the size of a: Size 9 Birkenstock lol. And UT determined he’s 3lbs already. Measuring a wee ahead.
Team blue/pink/green: Team Blue
Upcoming Appointments: Midwife March 7th. I always leave the office feeling like a superhero. My midwives and staff are so empowering, encouraging and supportive.
How are you feeling?: I’m feeling good. Added swimming to my weekly routine. I’d really love to go sit at the spa for the day, Im just not sure of the preggo policies. I’d also love a trip to an all inclusive resort on the islands but that will definitely have to wait.
Rants/Raves: Rant: sleeping on my side is so painful. Sleeping sitting up in a recliner is so uncomfortable. I just want my sleep back. Rave: I’m pretty sure my coworkers are planning me a shower. I keep getting random emails from people saying congratulations. That shows how low key I’ve been about my pregnancy.
Questions: what’s your top baby registry item?
GTKY: What was your first job? The Weekend kitchen helper at a nursing home.
