AMA/High Risk Check In October/November

This is a check in for all the AMA (Advanced Maternal Age) and high-risk mamas. We haven’t had one in a while so I figured we can use this as needed for the next month, plus we are starting anatomy scans (eep!) so in case anyone becomes high risk we can support you!

    How old are you? Turning 37 soon. 

    How are you feeling? Old. Haha but seriously not awful, but always tired. Feeling more stretched and sore. 

    Any issues/concerns? Happy my quad screen came back low risk but still worried something will come up at the anatomy scan. Today I freaked out I hadn’t felt baby much and then like clockwork once I left work and sat in my car they started moving and shaking!

    How old are you? 36

    How are you feeling? Pretty good! Pregnancy insomnia is a bitch but other than that, no complaints. I feel my belly getting heavy and the stretching, too- but I take it all as good news. 

    Any issues/concerns? none here! Honestly enjoying the perk of extra screening/ tests this pregnancy.

    How far along are you? 20+5

    How old are you? 34 but have high BP outside of pregnancy 

    How are you feeling? Fine. My belly starts to feel really heavy after I do a lot. Makes me worried but just thankful every day that baby is healthy. Once we start ticking days/weeks off past 24 weeks, I'll feel a lot better.

    Any issues/concerns? Go back to repeat AS in a few weeks. Even though I read the doctor report and know they're not "hiding" anything from me, I'm still worried the repeat wasn't really because of angles/ability to see things well and really bc there's something wrong.

    @firecracker_mama I hope the repeat scan is reassuring and helps calm your fears. I’m sure that’s nerve wracking!

    How are you feeling? Overall pretty good! We just found out we are having a boy after Sneak Peek said girl! 

    Any issues/concerns? Sleeping issues are starting to settle in. Can't get comfy, sometimes have trouble getting back to sleep if I wake but it's too bad (yet)

    @heytallmama I am a little disappointed that I am not getting the perks like extra scans with this one! I was looking forward to the extra monitoring but alas monthly appts are all I get!

    How old are you? 35

    How are you feeling? My body is tired. I'm starting to really feel the effects of blue collar work at pregnancy lol. Past three days I've been up and down ladders. Not sure how far into this pregnancy I'll be continue working. 

    Any issues/concerns? I keep having my hands and arms fall asleep while I'm sleeping. Can't find a position where this isn't happening.

    How are you feeling? Okay. Still grow up almost every morning (but just bile, before eating) and my son yells at me telling me to stop. And I have an awful cough from a cold I had like 3 weeks ago that won't go away. I remember this type of thing last pregnancy. So lame.

    Any issues/concerns? I've just been feeling worried about once the baby is here and how hard it will be with a toddler because he's been really difficult lately. He'll be 3.5 when the baby comes and he's definitely a threenager.

    I guess I go here now. 

    How far along are you? 22 weeks 6 days

    How old are you? 31

    How are you feeling? The worst anxiety/depression I’ve ever had probably in my life 

    Any issues/concerns? Found out at my anatomy scan that my baby has a marginal cord insertion but he is growing as he should be so no issues as of yet. So I let that go. 
    Then last weekend I began spotting, called perinatal and they suggested coming in to be checked. I was then told that my cervix was open, funneling and should be 3CM but mine is .75mm. So I was immediately put on bed rest and put back on progesterone. Baby hasn’t been moving as much as before but they said it’s normal because I’m not that far along yet. It’s just a very anxious situation and my husband isn’t back home until December 18 (unless something big happens then he will come home of course). I go to maternal fetal medicine on Monday and I’m anxious as hell for it.

    How old are you? 28 

    How are you feeling? Tired, back is hurting, no energy. Frustrated how clothes just went from fitting with not being tight to waking up and not having anything covering my stomach. 

    Any issues/concerns? My OB wants me to keep gaining more weight and I don’t think i physically can.

    How old are you? 37

    How are you feeling? I feel more pregnant this time around .. more aches and pains .. restless legs at night .. general feeling of exhaustion..

    Any issues/concerns .. thankfully everything is looking good , passed my first glucose test and I have another one in 2 weeks.. blood pressure has been perfect .. weight is starting to slow down .. happy that this baby is healthy and very active !!

    Stumbled on this today. @danielled100394 was on our August 2022 board, so at the time of this post (November 22) she would have been roughly 12w PP from having twins. I'm not sure how she was 19w pregnant with identical twins again in November.
