Insomnia?

Anyone else have horrible insomnia? I’ve been up since 2am and I’m dying today. I had sleep issues before and have taken unisom but I didn’t last night like a dummy.

    YEP! Terrible. I slept well before pregnancy and now I’m lucky to sleep until 4 am. I’m told it’s hormone related.

    100%!! People tell you to sleep now “before” baby arrives. Reality is, you should sleep BEFORE becoming pregnant because once you are preggo, there is no such thing as being well rested and sleeping throughout the night with no disruptions.

    I was very sick during the first trimester and taking strong anti nausea medication that caused heavy drowsiness, since I stopped them I have been up most of the night for the last week and a half and was told it would pass and was due to the medication. I really hope so because I've always slept so well before pregnancy and in first trimester, this is really challenging.

    I have trouble sleeping late 2nd trimester on. My hips and shoulders loathe only side sleeping. I also get the hands falling asleep and going numb towards the end. I'll have to lift my arm myself to move it when I roll over. Ugh the worst!
    We are buying a new mattress this week. Should help immensely.
    I think the insomnia is just yet another pleasant bonus to pregnancy. I'll wake up from an intense dream and stay awake because I keep going back into it when I fall asleep. Or I'll just not be able to stay asleep. Sleep for 4 hours and up and ready to go. Crashing hard by 11. I try to be productive during these times. Either work on a project, online shopping 🫢, or I'll do some self care. Soak in a bath and enjoy the quiet calm of the house in the early morning hours. 
    Also I've been making some amazing breakfasts and crockpot meals, because I'm up at 3 or 4. If only it were spring. I could be much more productive. 
    Good luck I know many women who sleep better in their 3rd trimester. Hopefully you ladies are some of them!
