GTKY: What’s your favorite thing about spring?

Re: TTCAL w/o Feb 13

  • Status: waiting for period.

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? I've just been very stressed lately. This Disney trip is a giant headache that im no longer looking forward too. I really hate vacations with my mom. It'll be my luck that either I'll get my period or ovulate during this trip... neither are ideal.

Any testing coming up/any recent results none

    Questions? Nope

GTKY: What’s your favorite thing about spring? Getting back out in the garden!!! I miss it. It's been warm here and things are starting to come to life. And we have so many seedlings going already and we have more to plant when we get back!!

Status: WTO, cycle 6 back TTC again

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? Holding out a lot of hope that this cycle will be the one. I turn 40 in 3 weeks, which will be right at the end of this cycle, so I am wishing for a BFP for my birthday!

Any testing coming up/any recent results? No

    Questions? NATM

GTKY: What’s your favorite thing about spring? Seedlings! I have a set up with grow lights and it’s almost time in New England to get started. I also love seeing all my early bulbs start to pop up. I’m forever forgetting what’s been planted where in the yard and I live the spring surprises.
  • @maggiemadeit what do you plan on growing this year???

  • @stashattack I have a big old veggie garden, so I grow a lot of tomatoes (usually half Roma and half heirloom slicers, maybe some cherry/snack size too), lettuce, cabbage, peas, sweet peppers, poblanos (my fave), jalapeños, kale, spinach, chard, asparagus. We have strawberry, raspberry, and blueberry beds, but we share those with the birds and squirrels 😂. I try every year for zucchini, melons, and cucumbers, but every year I am thwarted by pests. Between the cucumber beetles and the borers I never get much yield before the plants die.

How about you? What are you growing this year?
  • Oh and broccoli. How could I forget the broccoli?!
  • @maggiemadeit all of that sounds awesome! We have a small garden but we try and really pack it in. We have a small herb garden that currently has thyme and orgeneo taking over most of it. We will pick up a few basil starts since those take forever to grow. We also have kale overwintering outside along with garlic! I'm really hoping for a good garlic harvest this year, cuz last year our bulbs were so small LOL.

Inside we overwintered a really hot small pepper that is unnamed. It's going on it's 3 year! 2 or 3 jalepenos and an anaheim. Plus 3 eggplants. We are hoping they survive so we can all get early starts on those harvests once it warms up enough to put them back outside. Oh and a lemongrass.

The seedlings we've started so far are habaneros, poblanos for the first time, ghost peppers, and another gold pepper. Snap dragons, marigolds, cilantro, nasturtium, more eggplant, and celery. When we get back from vacation we will start our tomatoes, okra, cucumbers and squash. We do romas and cherries mostly. Our slicers for whatever reason don't do as well. And we will direct sow our peas, carrots, and potatoes.

I feel you on the cukes and squash/zucchinis. I think we are going to wait and plant them out later, at least the squash. Cukes we will do a couple of flushes. We had great success with soyu cucumber last year. It is sooo good and prolific. And Huge!! LOL.

  • When you've been hanging out in ttcal forums a bit too much and read this as missed miscarriage instead of male main character. 😹🙈 I was so confused by the title of this thread until I figured what Reddit group it was apart of. Then I felt dumb 😹
