  • EDD/Weeks + days: 13w5d

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: blue

Baby is the size of a(n): lemon

Upcoming appointments: just had one today

How are you feeling? Totally fine although I woke up with extreme pain in the middle of the night. I wonder if I somehow kneed myself in the bump area and woke up in pain.

Raves/Rants: ranting about my new practice. Ugh. I waited forever and turns out they booked me to see a nurse practitioner instead of an OB. It’s one of those places where you want to see as many OBs as possible because you don’t know who will be there for delivery so this was a wasted appointment since I didn’t meet an OB. Also there are multiple locations of this practice and I chose the one closer to my house. But if I’d chosen the other one, I would’ve seen an OB AND my bedside ultrasound would’ve been way clearer and they could’ve measured baby. At the location I went to they just had a tiny monitor, saw the heart chambers and confirmed that there was a heartbeat (but no measurement of it). I’m just so annoyed. It was a big waste of my morning.

Questions: how do STMs keep the bump safe from toddler?

GTKY: If you could have any super power in the world, what would it be? I would want to be a healer. I could heal my own ailments and heal other people too. Maybe that doesn’t count as a super power but it sounds nice

  • EDD/Weeks + days: 8/8. 15 weeks today.

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Pink

Baby is the size of a(n): Apple

    Upcoming appointments: 16-week check-in; 20 week ultrasound

How are you feeling? Much more energetic during the day and less nauseous, but still having insomnia at night. Breasts are hurting again and have had some bad headaches.

    Raves/Rants:
    • Rave - Love that I can finally feel some movement (when I'm lying down or get a bit riled up)
    • Rant - Weird that my bump seems smaller as my bloat goes down; makes me feel less pregnant / nervous

Questions: anyone else having trouble sleeping? Suggestions?
  • EDD/Weeks + days: 13+5

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): lemon or potsticker

Upcoming appointments: if I’m not called in for jury duty then I meet with the midwife for the first time on Thursday

How are you feeling? Nausea is back, way worse in the morning and not as bad mid day. Getting headaches if I don’t sleep enough and getting lightheaded if I am up on my feet too much but I think that’s more from my body running on such little food because I can only eat very small amounts at a time and I don’t think it’s enough. Need a nap by 1pm everyday.

Raves/Rants: raving that SO took the day off today so since I’ve been home after jury duty I’ve been able to just lay in bed and get a good nap in. He’s on DS duty today and it’s been so nice. Yesterday was just a lot with the Super Bowl and I’m just so pooped.

    Questions:

GTKY: If you could have any super power in the world, what would it be? I think super speed might be nice to get something’s done quicker but also maybe like super intelligence? Can that be a super power? Lol

  • EDD/Weeks + days: 11w4d

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Green

Baby is the size of a(n): fig? per the internet.

Upcoming appointments: next appt is on March 4th

How are you feeling? Nausea and fatigue are starting to get better. Felt a bit more energetic and happy this morning.

Raves/Rants: Waiting for NIPT results - got blood drawn a week ago and it arrived at Natera on Thursday. I know it will probably take a couple more days but I'm anxious to know how things look. I'm not patient by nature and I'm finding it hard not to refresh my mychart/natera website 239849283492 times a day.

    Questions: none here!

GTKY: If you could have any super power in the world, what would it be? I'm honestly not sure! Maybe teleport? Although @ccmrc143 I love your answer the most!
  • Omg - I would be absolutely p*$$ed about this too! That's actually one of the reasons I switched to a new practice - my last practice lost all their OBs except one, so nearly every appt would be with a midlevel.

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green:
    Finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): plum

Upcoming appointments: Thursday I have the gambit- ultrasound, blood work, and family doctor, next week I get to switchover to the midwives

How are you feeling? Exhausted still, but little burst of energy and thankfully my headache is much better but have had a few light ones since

Raves/Rants: due  to double booking our photos got rescheduled to hopefully this weekend i can’t wait to see ds find out she is going to be a big sister

    Questions: none at the moment

GTKY: If you could have any super power in the world, what would it be? Time control it feels like there is never enough time
  • EDD/Weeks + days: Aug. 26/12w2d

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): plum?

Upcoming appointments: the tech is supposed to be coming tonight to do my blood draw for the NIPS but a big snowstorm started this afternoon and I don’t know if they’ll still show. They are supposed to text when they’re 20mins away. Hah they just called. They’re running late because of the weather, but they’ll be here! Then I can mail off the kit.

How are you feeling? Still pretty garbage, but still taking Diclectin. It definitely helps! I would love a bit more energy. I think it’s on the way, I’m not as zombie-ish during the day.

Raves/Rants: we’re struggling with our oldest in school, but my rave is that we’ve recently got a lot more information via an assessment and we have a clear way forward. I’m feeling a lot of relief, when just last week I was feeling so defeated.

    Questions: NATM.

GTKY: If you could have any super power in the world, what would it be? Teleportation, maybe?
  • @ccmrc143 I’m sorry you had that experience. That is such a let down when you expect one thing but it ends up thing something different. They maybe should have communicated that better. This is exactly how the practice works that I go to but they tell you this at the first nurse visit for intake. I know my first time it made me anxious because I didn’t know who would be there to deliver. But both times I had great OBs deliver.

With my other two I saw the NP or a midwife most of the pregnancy but then had the option to try and schedule with the OBs in third tri to get to know the OBs, but it was never possible for me to meet them all. This one, since I’m AMA I’m required to see one of the OBs every other visit and the a midwife every other. But they told me ahead of time.

  • EDD/Weeks + days:  8/23…almost 13 weeks

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out!

Baby is the size of a(n): I have no idea…

    Upcoming appointments: 3/10

How are you feeling?  Very tired. Still not super interested in food. Still getting over a virus. Just sniffles at this point and I think some of the fatigue is related.

Raves/Rants: I’m pretty content today, which is a change from the pregnancy rage the past few weeks. I think after my appointment last week a lot of my anxiety went away. The OB was great and I kind of hope she is on call when I deliver this one too!

    Questions: none

GTKY: If you could have any super power in the world, what would it be?  Teleport for sure! I could save so much travel time during the week!

  • EDD/Weeks + days:12+2/ Aug 26th

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: blue

Baby is the size of a(n): kiwi

Upcoming appointments: NT scan at the MFM.

How are you feeling? The nausea seems to be calming down but I still have a really small appetite. Nothing sounds appetizing.

Raves/Rants: The snow just keeps coming down. I’m tired of all the snow. I’m so ready for spring. I’m tired of driving around with my door all dented. The window won’t roll down and there is a gap that causes a really cold draft through the van.

    Questions:

GTKY: If you could have any super power in the world, what would it be? The power of speed so I could speed clean, speed cook, and all the other annoying things that take way too long.
  • @novelblessings The pregnancy rage is awful. I feel like I’m finally coming out of my last round of it.

@justyouraveragemama I just read through your post and saw we wrote the same super power. Great minds think alike! I need relief of the burden that’s running my home.

@ccmrc143 I wouldn’t be happy with seeing a mid level. I always decline them. I can see a doctor at home without paying a copay but it’s important that I be seen by someone who is not my husband.
  • EDD/Weeks + days: We are keeping the 8/5 EDD, so I’m back to 15w2d even though crl was nearly a week difference.

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out!

Baby is the size of a(n): orange

Upcoming appointments: I need to call and schedule the next one.

How are you feeling? Getting over some illness that I guess wasn’t Covid? I think I had a faulty test. My appetite finally returned, but I’ve still got typical cold symptoms.

Raves/Rants: we might have a snow day tomorrow! An inch of snow shuts down most of the city.

    Questions: not currently

GTKY: If you could have any super power in the world, what would it be? Telekinesis, I’m lazy AF. Then I can sit and summon the things I forgot to grab- glass of water, chapstick, a pen, etc. And clean my house just by looking at the mess 😂
  • @emeraldcity603 I am glad it seems to have passed. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼 It was driving me nuts that I would get upset about random things so easily. I was sure I was pissing people off at work and felt awful. Now I’m just a tired lump that wants peace and calm LoL

  • @emeraldcity603 I swear I have no concept of how long things actually take and I’m slow in the first place and then I’m not done when I wanted to be and then my anxiety sets in and I get frustrated, having super speed would stop me doing that😅

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): plum

Upcoming appointments: Midwife appointment next Wednesday. I took a half day at work so I don't have to rush back.

How are you feeling? Feel a lot like my normal self these days and my appetite is back! still liking sweet things more than salty.

Raves/Rants: Rant - a really important member of our team has left the company and I know they're working to backfill quickly, just sucks that the work has to be divided among the rest of us.

    Questions: none

GTKY: If you could have any super power in the world, what would it be? Agree with everyone, the ability to do things at 10x the speed. Or just point to the dishes/laundry and have them be magically cleaned.

Edited: I'm 14 weeks not 15, losing track already
  • @justyouraveragemama I’m so ADD that I struggle to get things done in general. It’s very debilitating sometimes. I procrastinate a lot because I get overwhelmed. I really need medication. After I get done nursing this baby I plan to get some so I can hopefully manage our home better.
  • @emeraldcity603 yes to the procrastination and overwhelm! That’s a never ending cycle for me. I also struggle with like starting to clean something but then I remember something else or see something as I’m putting something else away and I stop doing the original thing and then nothing ends up done lol
  • EDD/Weeks + days: 16w 8/2

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Team Green

Baby is the size of a(n): Avocado

Upcoming appointments: I just had one Monday (2/13) and my anatomy scan is 3/9. I did some bloodwork for our second round of genetic testing on Monday and also got my thyroid checked.

How are you feeling? Good! Still days where the fatigue takes me out or some headache days, but overall not bad at all.

Raves/Rants: A couple of raves. We did a social media announcement. Mostly everyone knew and it's right around the same time period we did my daughters', but I swear it always makes it feel so real and I get so nervous like making it real is going to take it away or something? I can't describe it, but it's a happy and nervous feeling all at the same time. We have some construction going on at our house today to finish a few remodeling projects and move some rooms around so we have room for new baby (if we're still in this house!), so that's a relief. And my daughter is doing a sleepover with the grandparents on Saturday so me and my H have reservations with some friends for dinner.

    Questions:

GTKY: If you could have any super power in the world, what would it be? I'm between speed and teleporting. Every time we travel I say teleport haha, but speed would probably be more useful on the daily.
  • EDD/Weeks + days: 8/10 - 15 weeks tomorrow

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: pink!!!

Baby is the size of a(n): peach? Avocado? I don't know, something I like in salsa anyway. Plus I never know if it's a teeny Trader Joe's fruit or a big Sam's Club one.

Upcoming appointments: 16-week appointment next Thursday with my OB's PA (they said it's standard to see her at 16 and 24 weeks since those are generally pretty uneventful) and then anatomy scan a month later

How are you feeling? Normal. Just huge.

Raves/Rants: Rave - my MIL gets in on Saturday for the weekend! I generally really like his family, or at least his mom and grandma, so I'm really excited for that. My daughter absolutely adores her, so she's been counting the sleeps until she comes, and it means I get some time to do some bigger things around the house (start really cleaning out the storage room to make space for the guest room there, etc). AND she'll be here for Mardi Gras, which I love to make into a holiday at home and watch The Princess and the Frog and eat red beans and rice and way too much king cake. Rant - BUT once again there's a dumb winter storm heading our way that's threatening to call off school tomorrow, which would suck because while she is chill, our house is not currently anywhere near Mother In Law Clean and I needed to do that while my daughter is at school/my parents' house tomorrow. Whyyyy is winter so long and miserable?

Questions: I know other threads have mentioned registries, and I totally started a couple for the discounts/gift bags... anyone keep track of what the best gift bags are? Like the Buy Buy Baby one is crappy, but I don't remember the Amazon one, Target was decent a few years ago... Anyone have good insight there?

GTKY: If you could have any super power in the world, what would it be? Easy way out, but I want a Sleeping Beauty style fairy wand. There's a mess? Zap, not anymore. Oh, I need a new dress? I'll make the fabric turn itself into one. Dangerous barrage of arrows? Nope, they're bubbles! I'm hungry, think I'll just conjure up a cookie and cup of tea. And hopefully I could come up with a better use for it than some bullshit "gift" like "this princess will be able to sing really pretty!" instead of "this princess will be super smart and an excellent leader" or "this princess will have a mom with an actual name".

@cherrystorming we have the same due date! 😊

     EDD/Weeks + days: 08/18/23 & I’m 13 weeks and 5 days

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: boy 👦🏻

Baby is the size of a(n): lemon according to this app

    Upcoming appointments: 02/27/23

How are you feeling? Anxious and nauseous. I can’t wait to be 24 weeks so I can feel relief from this anxiety and fear of loss and instead feel joy.

Raves/Rants: raves would be that I’m just so happy I have made it this far. Rants would be I hate all the tummy issues and vaginal infections I’ve been getting.

Questions: Has anyone eaten a corn dog and been fine and baby be fine? I’ve read mixed things about it and I was craving one so badly and we went to a festival today so my husband ordered one and I couldn’t help but take several bites, I wanted one for myself :(

GTKY: If you could have any super power in the world, what would it be?
teleportation, I hate driving. I also love traveling but hate the whole process of getting to your destination so this super power would be sooo cool because I would be in tropical places every week 😎😍
  • @ccmrc143 during the day my toddler doesn’t really push or hit my belly thankfully, but he is a crazy sleeper and we co sleep so at night I put a pillow on my lower belly and whenever I feel his feet near my belly I reposition him or turn my body the other way.
  • @slothstatus I feel like a corn dog as long as it’s not sitting out is ok to eat. I had a hot dog a few weeks ago, they say you shouldn’t but I just made sure I heated the crap out of it. I’m fine after eating it lol
  • @slothstatus corn dogs should be fine, I’ve been eating hotdogs from Sam’s club cafe every Friday this pregnancy. I also have had deli sandwiches at least once a week and all is well! I keep away from bagged salad mixes more than hot dogs and deli meat because I’m more likely to get listeria from the bagged salad mixes
  • I have eaten corn dogs several times this week. I eat just about everything except for unpasteurized cheeses and milk.
  • @justyouraveragemama ugh those bagged salads I didn’t know they were a no-no!! I bought one a week ago and literally two days later had the runs and looked it up and found out about the recall that particular company had last year 😩🤦🏻‍♀️. Thank God I had a doctors appointment two days after that and baby was ok but definitely staying away from bagged salads from now on.

Thank you ladies for comforting me regarding corn dogs, I’m now going to eat corn dogs whenever I have the opportunity :D in moderation.
  • @slothstatus ahh yay due date buddies!!
  • @slothstatus heck yes! Glad to aid you in your quest for breaded fried meat products. :) Pregnancy food restrictions just crack me up -- so much of it is just scare tactics and ethnocentrism that isn't grounded in any real evidence. I remember once someone told me I needed to steer clear of Indian food -- I was like "or, as it's called in India, food?" 🤦🏼‍♀️

Even bagged salads -- it's a risk/reward proposition. My OB wants me to eat low-carb with lots of veggies because she's just stuck on the idea I'm going to have GD. Cool. But tbh I don't have time to wash and prep 4-5 heads of lettuce a week, but we do eat a lot of salad in our family as an entree base to increase veggie intake. Is it better to eat less veggies and more carbs? Or is it better to buy a box of spring mix and stick to the diet she wants me on? Which is the bigger risk? So I usually buy some romaine, but also a box of spinach and kale, and call it good.
  • I eat bagged salads every night. I hate them haha. But my husband makes salad with dinner and so I eat it. I was checking to see if there are any new recalls so I can get out of it 😂
