FTM/STM/TTM+: STM EDD / Weeks + Days: May 5 / 28W3D Baby is the size of a: eggplant Team blue/pink/green: blue Upcoming Appointments: 2/24 How are you feeling?: Achy. I think I'm going to have to start sleeping with my pregnancy pillow now. Also anxiously waiting for my doctor to respond about my glucose test (I went over by just 3mg) and my urine test (which appeared to indicate a mild UTI). Rants/Raves: Rave: My doctor's secretary scheduled all my remaining prenatal checkups for me without me asking. That was nice Rant: Why do women think it's okay to trash talk girls as a whole? When I was getting my blood drawn, the technician told me I was so lucky to be having a boy, because she has eight granddaughters and one grandson, and she'd gladly trade all the girls for boys, because girls are sooooo awful, you should hear the things that come out of their mouths. This is not the first time I've heard an older woman rant about how girls are "so much worse than boys." It makes me think of that scene in Mean Girls where Tina Fey says, "You have got to stop calling each other s**ts and w**res. That just makes it okay for guys to call you s**ts and w**res." And uh, maybe the tech's granddaughters talk back to her because they see right through her bulls**t? Questions: Has anyone failed their 1-hour glucose test but passed the 3-hour? What were your numbers? GTKY: What are you doing to celebrate Valentine's Day? DH and I don't really celebrate it, but DD's preschool is having a Valentine's Day card exchange and dance. She signed all her classmates' cards with morse code and scribble
FTM/STM/TTM+: 4TM EDD / Weeks + Days: 6/2, 24+3 Baby is the size of a: Team blue/pink/green: pink Upcoming Appointments: MFM Thursday! Then I think my next OB is 3/1 How are you feeling?: I'm okay. I have been experiencing some pretty significant anxiety the past few weeks, and finally reached out to my OB on Friday. Within 15 minutes of receiving my message online, she had called me on the phone, left a super long voicemail (I was in meetings) and called in a prescription for me. I'll pick it up this afternoon but I'm hoping that will help. Rants/Raves: Um well I closed my f*cking finger in my car door yesterday. So I can't use my right pointer finger at all. It looks so nasty and is incredibly painful. Like I've lived through pitocin contractions with a failed epidural, back labor and 2.5 hours of pushing. This is worse. Rave though: that little boy from that labor turns SIX today. Six is really big, y'all. Questions: GTKY: What are you doing to celebrate Valentine's Day? Not too much! We have gifts for the kids and will make a nicer dinner together after the kids go down. Other than that though, we're looking forward to just laying low.
@hestia-is-wearie I’ll respond to the rest later, but yes- I failed the 1 hour and passed the 3 hour when I was pregnant last time with my son. I don’t remember the numbers though, sorry!
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM EDD / Weeks + Days: 27+2; she’ll be here May 1 Baby is the size of an: eggplant Team blue/pink/green: pink Upcoming Appointments: regular appointment followed by growth scan this Friday- going to every 2 week appointments How are you feeling?: tired but good. My hips hurt in the morning from sleeping on my side. Rants/Raves: I have a huge performance event at work next week so every spare minute is devoted to that right now, the planning of it and prepping the kids for their performances. Questions: nada GTKY: What are you doing to celebrate Valentine's Day? My son and I always make and decorate a cake, and we’re going to make heart shaped individual pepperoni pizzas for dinner tomorrow.
Baby is the size of a: some sort of cabbage or something
Team blue/pink/green: blue
Upcoming Appointments: Early March
How are you feeling?: A dangerous question to ask this morning. See the Valentine's Day celebration for details.
Rants/Raves: My stomach feels so tight lately, like I'm already out of room. I don't remember feeling that so early with DD, but maybe I'm just forgetting?
Questions: Not today
GTKY: What are you doing to celebrate Valentine's Day? We went out to dinner at a new restaurant with another couple last night. It was so nice! Good food and great company. Then I woke up around midnight and I have never thrown up so much or so quickly. It was miserable! My throat still burns from the sheer amount of stomach acid. Food poisoning or something not agreeing with me, I guess? No one else we went with got sick. Needless to say actually Valentine's Day is going to involve a nap and bland food. 🙃
@hestia-is-wearie I hate when people gender stereotype like that. Pretty sure that (like you said) they make it a self-fulfilling prophecy by treating the person/people like crap.
@BourbonBiscuits I'm glad your doctor was so responsive. And happy birthday to your DS!
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM EDD / Weeks + Days: 28+4, May 5 Baby is the size of a: eggplant Team blue/pink/green: blue Upcoming Appointments: glucose test and OB on Thursday How are you feeling?: eh, my constant runny nose has turned into a constant post nasal drip and it’s been making me feel sick if I’m not always munching on something. I feel like I’m back in first tri! Rants/Raves: besides getting up twice a night to pee, I’ve finally been sleeping pretty decently consistently, so I’ll count that as a win Questions: none GTKY: What are you doing to celebrate Valentine's Day? Our very simple celebration is buying or making pizza. This year I’m doing homemade crust, so hopefully that turns out nicely. Already have my tums at the ready 😂
@hestia-is-wearie that is so gross. Does she not hear what comes out of *her* mouth? Yikes.
My husband has had some coworkers say something about how nice it is that we’re having a boy first, but we can’t really figure out what their rationale is. Like this baby’s duty is to be a protector to any girl siblings in the future? So the family name can carry on? So he can inherit our estate (lol yeah right) in our society that doesn’t allow women to own property? I don’t get it.
@abjm0325 oh no! Food poisoning is the absolute worst. Hopefully you can get that nap today!
Baby is the size of a: Lettuce (the sizes of these weekly things always gets me, the lettuces I’ve been getting aren’t 14”) but hey my kids love finding out roughly what he is every week.
Team blue/pink/green: Blue
Upcoming Appointments: 3/22 US for measurements
How are you feeling?: Tired!!!!! Eventful weekend and pregnancy exhaustion. Still getting sick from meat but doing my best, I will gladly take vomiting over being on bed rest. I got bored with my full term pregnancies while on bed rest so I am very happy/blessed my body is doing a great job keeping this baby boy tucked in.
Rants/Raves: we have a roommate (was friend) that hasn’t paid rent in months but gambles so much and we’ve told him to move out 1/31, well he’s still here and I’ve texted him and written notes on his door. I told him to be out by the 14th well here we are still here and no packing. He claims to be out by 3/1. CA laws suck and I was to scream, cry and throw all his stuff outside. But I can’t 😩😭 My rave- I’ve been babysitting a friends 2 month old so she can get a break (he’s very colicky🥺). But I love it because it is giving me baby practice again. It’s been 6 years and I forgot how to attach and detach things from my stroller so I’m also grateful for the opportunity to relearn all the things and it’s nice because we’re having a boy and they are different from girls when changing diapers 😬 never been peed on with my girls, so this is new to me.
Questions: NATM
GTKY: What are you doing to celebrate Valentine's Day? It’s today. We put out things for each other and our kids. I volunteered at school and my husband is working for a few hours but hoping to get in a lunch 🤞🏻 before kids get out of school. But we did celebrate this past weekend, we did 2 birthdays and Valentine’s Day at once. My FILs bday is 2/4 and my DD is 2/18. So with schedules we smashed 3 in 1 day!
@hestia-is-wearie I never understand why people are like that. I’m too afraid to say anything back because I don’t want them to be nasty back at me. But it’s like you need to take a moment and hear what your actually saying!
@BourbonBiscuits sorry about your finger ouch! Also happy birthday to your DS my DD is the 18th she will be 8 though ❤️
@abjm0325 I know how you feel, if I eat meat I am more than likely throwing up. Pedialyte or any of those hydration water packets help so much, they have been a staple for me. Feel better!
@courtney701 homemade crust is amazing. We love love love pizza here! Bbq chicken pizza is my favorite 🤤🤤 you will do great!
@jeep4x4mom DH wants to get pee pee teepees for this little guy, partially as a joke, partially because they could come in handy, and partially because they have a golf design
@hestia-is-wearie haha seriously though, I put a set on my registry months ago. 8 years ago with my first DD I had seen covers for the boys and thought that was smart. I tried the wet wipe trick and it seemed to work. But when I changed that lil guys poop diaper he would pee and stop like 3 times! Also get those puppy training pads! We had those with my other kids, I never got peed on by them but everyone else sure did and I know they will be super useful with a boy!
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM EDD / Weeks + Days: 26w4d Baby is the size of a: bloop Team blue/pink/green: pink Upcoming Appointments: just got done with a round How are you feeling?: tired and big which seems too early to feel tired and big! Last time I would look at the sizes of babies at different gestational ages and think, man it doesn’t seem like something that big could be in there, but this time I feel like there’s unmistakably something at least that big in there! 😂 Rants/Raves: none Questions: none GTKY: What are you doing to celebrate Valentine's Day? We had a family dinner at home but on the nice plates and I lit a few candles. My three year old was really into having a holiday, probably because she got spoiled a bit (husband and I got her a book and my parents sent a teddy bear, plus the valentines at preschool this year included a bunch of small prizes) 😅. Oh well for this not being a “gift” holiday. But it was also fun.
@hestia-is-wearie Ugh people are so weird about gender. Sometimes kids are making a good point when they “talk back” and considering what they’re saying is actually more important than getting respect as an elder. 🤦♀️
@jeep4x4mom Lol, I got a cabbage in grocery pick up the other day that was the cutest, smallest cabbage I’ve ever seen. 😅 (It actually worked out because the usual head sized ones are always too big for my recipe.) But it’s funny how fruit/veggies can be a little vague as a size description.
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM EDD / Weeks + Days: May 24; 26 weeks today Baby is the size of a: kale Team blue/pink/green: pink Upcoming Appointments: just had my gestational done last week (thankful all is well), next appointment is in March How are you feeling?: tired, itchy, and forgetful! I can’t seem to get enough lotion on my skin lately. Rants/Raves: I’m already ready to stop working lol every time I bring up something pregnancy related that I’m feeling, I’m met with “you just wait!” I get it that things are going to intensify but does that always have to be the response?? Questions: none atm GTKY: What are you doing to celebrate Valentine's Day? Last night we went out to dinner. We agreed that would be all but when I first came home he had roses and chocolate and a card for me. I’ve already had more than my fair share of the sweets 😅
