Looks like Iβm getting my Monday delivery after all! They went to do my 3rd membrane sweep today at my post 40 checkup and broke my water by accident π€£ weβre headed to the hospital in a few hours! I was 2-3cm dilated and 70% effaced. Less than a day till we have our baby β₯οΈ
At the hospital, sitting with a balloon in, waiting for dilation and baby boy to maybe come out on his due date! I miss my girls at home so much, but at least they have their grandparents all here. π₯Ήβ€οΈ
@ttc3y, I had the balloon induction before we started Pitocin also. It wasnβt uncomfortable at all, but it was definitely a long process. It took 9.5 hours to get to 5cm where the balloon came out.
It was awkward to use the restroom. But I was able to move around the entire time that the balloon was in.
@ttc3y I agree with @karbaud, not painful. They told me if you hadnβt had a baby before that the pressure might be worse. Probably the worst part for me was that I was just barely 1cm dilated and super thick cervix still when they inserted it. I could still eat while I sat with that in (Iβm probably going for longer, approximately 24 hours total). Pitocin ended that party and now Iβm on to clear stuff ππ€·ββοΈ
Currently sitting in triage waiting for a room to open up.Β My amniotic fluid was low on Tuesday and I had it checked again today and it was lower.Β It's not low enough to be a problem yet but my doctor wants to induce me.Β It's partly the fluid and partly because of my chronic high blood pressure.Β Today's my dad's birthday so he just might get a birthday buddy...it will probably be tomorrow though.
For everyone who is still waiting for baby to arrive, this is a great meditation to be at peace with your body and when your baby will come. π https://youtu.be/p6zAvyZIQFo
