I just have to let it out.

Hi,

I don't know if this is allowed to create a new discussion. But I just really have to let my thoughts out. I don't have anyone to talk to about my ttc journey except my husband and God. And my impatience just makes it too much to bear.

We have been ttc for 4 months, but last month is when we got serious - went on a weight loss journey and lost 10lbs, took prenatal regularly as well as vit d, and magnesium.

January 23rd I got my period and it stopped 27th. The next day I got a fertile cm (stretchy clear). I was thinking it might be too soon. It's a biomarker so I thought it doesn't hurt to try. My charting app also said I was fertile that day. We consummated (sorry for tmi) then 3 days later, I had fever, very very fatigued, congested, and even diarrhea. Diarrhea lasted 5 days. I also got nauseous, and can't eat well. I threw up after taking a bite of eggs. I was thinking maybe I'm sick with a flu. But my husband and his family that we visited that week didn't get sick from me. I was the only one sick. I wasn't contagious.

Now it's been 11 days since I felt sick, I'm om cd 21, and two days ago I started spotting. 3 days going as I type this. It's not what I'm used to. The blood is very light and mucus-y. I get it onlt when I wipe. My period spotting which I don't always get is bright red, and not stretchy. But this one is stretchy, very very light, sometimes just fluid with a hint of pink. I'm also having cramps. But not heavy cramps. Mild cramps that almost feel like pulling on my lower ab. Also having back pain. I tested today, and it's a negative. Is it just too soon?
Has anyone experienced this? Honestly not being able to talk about it to anyone and not hearing what others went through makes it more difficult. I hope someone can give advice and/or enlightenment. Or could possibly share your story so I know I'm not alone.

Thank you. And have a great day!

Re: I just have to let it out.

  • A couple of things you'll hear are you're regular until you're not (ie, sounds like a period even if it's not when you expected it); if you're pregnant enough to have symptoms, you're pregnant enough to turn a test; and if your test is negative you're not pregnant at this time. It sounds like you may have had food poisoning and your period.

You also mentioned that you lost 10 pounds last month, so that could seriously mess with your cycle. When I lost weight at that rate, my period actually stopped for nearly a year (it came back 9 months after I stopped losing weight and gained some back). So when you're throwing a weight loss journey on top of ttc, your charting and apps may but be as reliable.

  • Thank you for this! It helps to get some insight.

I'm on cd 21 now, and I don't normally get spotting around that time. Last month, I spotted cd 28 and only for two days, theb I had my period.
  • I agree with @00kim00. I bet the weight loss is effecting your cycle. 10lbs in one month is pretty extreme. And weight fluctuations really can screw with your cycle.

In the means time, the TTPG board might be a good place for you. The board is structured unlike this board but it is for people in their TTC journey. Vs here where people are pregnant.
