Hi, everyone! Let’s have a mega thread where we all post pics of how we shared our pregnancy news with family and friends!
This can include how you told your partner, your parents, your best friends, your co-workers, and even how you announced on social media!
Since we don’t know each other in real life, it won’t matter if two of us use the same idea!
Please also feel free to share ideas you didn’t end up using; maybe someone else can use them!
* If you have several pictures you want to post, please consider posting your favorite ONE in the body of your post, then add the rest as of the pictures a “spoiler.” This will prevent the thread from getting too clogged up, so we don’t have to scroll a ton every time we visit the thread.
When reading other people’s posts, be sure to click on the “show” button next to “spoiler”, to see the rest of their pics!
Here’s an example (click the “show” button below):
To include a “spoiler” in your post, click on the “paragraph” button, which looks like a backwards P, and can be found next to the “bold” and “italics” buttons. Then insert your extra pictures in the shaded area that pops up!

I’ll post mine in the replies below!
Re: Post your pregnancy announcement pics here!
I made these little “diaper babies,” one for each person who I planned on telling early (my mom, best friend, sisters, and aunts). I put the baby in a little gift box, along with a note thanking them for their love, prayers, and support throughout these years of me trying to have a baby!
This picture is of me, holding the baby that I gave to my mom. I’ll put a few more pictures and what I used to make the babies in the spoilers! I didn’t get my mom’s first reaction on camera, but I did get my best friend’s! As you can see, she thought it was hilarious! The diaper babies have been a huge hit with everyone I’ve given them to so far, and they make for a super cute photo op, to have all the special people in your life showing love to a representation of your baby!
My best friend:
Here’s what I used to make the diaper babies:
- A diaper (I used newborn size, but I’d recommend using a size 1 or maybe higher if you have any), rolled into a cylinder like you would for a diaper cake
- A small rubber band or hair elastic to keep the diaper rolled up
- A baby wash cloth for the diaper baby’s swaddle blanket
- A baby sock for the diaper baby’s hat
- A small clip-on barrette for the bow on the diaper baby’s hat
- Small googly eyes (I used 7mm eyes, which you can get from Walmart in a pack of 80 for like a dollar), attached using a hot glue gun
This is my first & second. First was our steel toe boots in front of a pipeline riser since we both work in the oilfield. And second is our fly rods and my hubby’s Watermaster (more my husband than me) we are avid fly fishers. I’ll post my third once I make it. It will be with my hunting rifle and different sized bullets. 🥰 waiting until my first US next week to rule out twins lol.
I’m so glad to see this thread getting some more entries! I wasn’t going to bump the thread to share my facebook announcement post, since I read that a lot of you hate social media announcements. 😊 But since someone bumped the thread anyway, I will go ahead and share it! I will also share all the reasons why I thought it was important to make an announcement, so maybe y’all will hate it a little less. 😅
I will also share what I wrote in my post in the spoiler below (click the “show” button next to “spoiler,” if you want to read it.)
I have exciting news to share! I’m 8 weeks pregnant with a baby girl, due in September!
As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve always dreamt about the day I would fall in love and get married, and I could begin fulfilling what I believed was my true purpose in life; being a mom. But for one reason or another, it never worked out for me with any guys. And at 35 years old, I was seeing fewer and fewer possibilities. I’m not saying that it couldn’t still happen, but I’ve always prided myself on being logical and realistic. I know that if finding a husband hasn’t happened for me in the last 15 years, the chances of it happening very soon are low. And every year that I wait for something to happen is another year lost, that I could have been spending with my child.
So in 2019 I decided that I’m going to be a mom, despite not having a husband! I would have and raise the baby on my own, with the help and support of my family and friends, of course!
Working through a fertility clinic over the past four years and using an anonymous (genetically tested) donor, I am incredibly blessed to say that I’m now pregnant! I’ve already had my first ultrasound and saw my beautiful, tiny baby and heard her heartbeat!
I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported my decision to have a baby by myself, and everyone who has prayed for my dream to come true! Please continue to keep my baby in your prayers!
Ignore my grumpy son, he was done with photos. I wanted to do this for ages. Our Killy bunny is holding Killian's pictures too. 💙💜💚💛
