  Haha definitely skip.  I can only imagine how many stops you’d have to make on an 8 hr car ride.  The answer is too many.

  If you can out of it, skip it this year! You’ll still be getting used to baby and recovering fully.

  We also have a family lake trip planned over Labor Day. I will be 2.5 months postpartum also, this will also be an 8 hour car ride. 

  I am a first time mom so I was not sure but my husbands mom (mother of 5) said that the first few months are actually the easiest time to travel because you need to bring the least amount of stuff (formula or breast pump, pack and play and diapers). She also said the baby’s still sleep for more than half the day and car rides help sooth them. 

  I would expect to have a few extra stops for diaper changes, and feedings. We have dogs that need to potty and get gas along the way so hopefully it will coincide with those stops. I would just expect an 8 hour drive to be at least 9.
