Just got my first positive…

Hello everyone,

I just got my first positive! I have some health complications, so I didn’t think it would happen anytime soon but we were happily surprised especially when I got the positive at 9 dpo!! The line was definitely there but not very dark yet. I’m not sure what I do now…AF is due in 3 days or so. Feeling nervous to get excited but do I wait to test again until the missed period and then call the Dr or should I schedule an appt now? TIA!!

    A positive is a positive. Congrats! You should call and let them know (they will be more interested in when your last period started) so you can get an appointment. Don’t be surprised if it’s not for several weeks. It’s not uncommon to not see anyone until 8+ weeks for a first time pregnancy.

    Thank you!! I will call right away. It still feels unreal. I also just learned that the “weeks” of pregnancy start earlier than the date of your positive, which is so neat!

    That’s such a great idea, thank you so much!! Is this your first? Definitely trying to stay calm but it’s hard when a lot of scary things can happen early on 😭 my first appt/ultrasound is March 3rd! Feels like forever away!

    I don’t know if I am pregnant am having a lot of symptoms but not sure when to take a test and am 7 weeks and 2 days

    @knottie792a79377ab23e2f not clear if you're saying you're seven weeks from the start of your last menstrual period or ovulation, but the general rule of thumb is to test after your missed period, however some use the early detection tests (the early detection test missed my pregnancy, so they aren't as reliable)
