Cramping in early pregnancy

I am currently 4w3d pregnant and lightly spotted brown blood for about 3 days. For the past 4 days I have been experiencing “cramps” but they aren’t really painful like period cramps just more annoying than anything. I am concerned because I am feeling these “cramps” on each sides of my stomach and they alternate throughout the day/days. I rarely feel any cramps in the middle of my abdomen or lower abdomen. Currently I am extremely exhausted and hungry all the time. I have spoken with my OB but they said that cramping can be normal in early pregnancy and don’t seem concerned. This is my first pregnancy. Has anyone experienced any cramps like these?

Re: Cramping in early pregnancy

  • Just like your OB said, it's very normal. Lots of changes are happening. You uterus is growing and that can cause cramping.

  • I didn’t have spotting, but I felt cramping around the same time. I’ve been told by doctors that cramping and spotting that early can be a sign of implantation, so probably nothing to worry about
