Re: Monday Bitchfest 1/16

  • I bought DS a used bedframe and picked up the parts and spent pretty much all day yesterday trying to assemble it (ikea) and get to near the last step and it’s missing a couple screws for the ladder (it’s the loft/reversible bunk bed one) and some of the screws for the bed slats. It was nearly 2 hours past DS bedtime last night when I finally figured out a safe solution for now and got sheets back on and him into bed.

  • My husband took the kids out to shoot rockets the other day and didn’t put their gloves back where they go. I’m always keeping the gear meticulously organized so I don’t lose any of their stuff. He goes out and ruins it all in one day. I don’t understand why he can’t just put all the gloves back in the trunk when they get done. So now I have to go to the garage and look all over the van for them and hope I find them all.
  • My 4yo has an ear infection and is REFUSING to take meds. I’m so effing frustrated.
  • My two sisters surprised me today with their kids. I was happy that they all came but man I’m exhausted from cleaning up the kids messes! They also don’t know I’m pregnant and nauseous. I wasn’t expecting it today and although I am grateful for the company it was 3 boys and they destroyed my place. One kid spilled everywhere, there was blood on my couch?? Don’t know which kid, and I don’t even realize how boys pee 😳 like missed the toilet completely. I’ll be a ftm so I guess I’m in for a surprise.
  • @lmn823 Your sisters didn’t have their kid’s clean up after themselves? Also, I have a rule that all drinks and food stay in the kitchen unless it’s water. It keeps the house from having crumbs and spills.
  • @lmn823 blood on your couch?!?!?! Uh...no. speaking as both the childless aunt (my sister's kids are both older than mine) and the mom of a kid who visits other houses, no, you aren't in for that big of a wakeup -- kids are messy but they don't *have* to destroy things, especially when it's someone else's home. Please tell me they at least felt terrible about the messes and tried to clean them up???
  • Boys do destroy a bathroom. They pee all over everything. Plus, the poop! I swear I cleaned poop off the bathroom door the other day. I was horrified. My toddler likes to empty a full roll of toilet paper into the toilet after he poops and tries to flush it down. He wasted a full package of TP one week. I never had these issues with my other kids (as much they had their own things) because they would tell me they needed to potty. He has always wanted to be very independent since day 1.
  • It’s been really hard. My oldest sister is diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer and just finished her 6th chemo treatment.(she has the brca1 mutation and so do I) She’s been really weak to even argue with her little kids (10 and 5). I try to help her as much as possible. The 10 year old is good but it’s the 5 year old who was spilling and then there were crumbs of snacks randomly that I didn’t pay attention to. He did put his dishes and cups away and threw out garbage. Found out he was the one who was bleeding, his tooth is loose so he kept trying to pull it and wipe his bloody saliva on the couch. My other sister came too and she has a 18mo so juice was spilling and little sticky fingers just can’t help it.
  • @lmn823 That’s a little different. I just imagined them sitting back letting them destroy your house. I’m so sorry your sister is going through all that. My mom was diagnosed when I was really little. She was only 34 so I opted to get checked for that gene. I have had random things come up that needed a biopsy. So I just felt like I needed to know.
  • @emeraldcity603 yes! I opted too. And it came out positive. Luckily they told me they haven’t detected anything. And thanks for the kind words, my sister is tough and we just keep as positive. Lol and no she’s pretty good with me “attempting” to discipline her kids. Although some things I miss like I just stepped on some chips now!
  • Major restructuring at work today, plus preschool decision (we’re between two) is due tomorrow. I’m so stressed out I wish I could have a drink! when it rains it pours
