@gingermama29 are those Ohio stars?? I just quilted a stocking for our youngest this year with an Ohio star block. I’m planning to make others for the big kiddos too.
@justyouraveragemama that biscuit/roll in your first pic looks so good! I mean the whole meal does, but I’d demolish some buttered biscuits right now.
@gingermama29 I like quilting but I haven’t made anything recently. I bought a sewing machine for my oldest daughter for Christmas and she has been sewing everyday since. She is almost done with a small quilt top. I’m going to teach her how to sandwich and quilt. I’m not sure if she is ready to quilt on a machine but we will see how it goes.
@pickle-chips I love the stocking. I make handmade felt stockings for my kids. I still need to make my last 2 kids their stockings. 🤦🏻♀️ I’m way behind.
@gingermama29 ah yes, seeing them side by side I see that now 😅 it’s really well done! I’m impressed by all of your seams and points. It was so finicky trying to line them up, I gave up towards the end.
@emeraldcity603 I left this stocking until like a week before his second Christmas. Guarantee I don’t start the other two until next December as well.
@pickle-chips one of them is 3 and the other is 15 months. So both have had to use a place holder for more than a year. 🤦🏻♀️ I have just been so busy.
Did our annual tradition of homemade sushi for new years tonight. Not perfect but delish. Featuring cooked spicy salmon with our homemade hot sauce mixed in the mayo.
Haven’t done any kind of crafting for baby yet, but this weekend I got some yarn and cute fabric to make stuff out of. Hopefully clothes, but I’m not super skilled. I’ve only made a few simple outfits for DS when he was a baby and some costumes.
Humblebrag time: My daughter got to celebrate her half birthday at preschool this week (she's a summer birthday so they do half birthdays for those kids). She asked for chocolate chip cookie sandwiches. Soooooo I went a little extra and made two large, thick cake pan chocolate chip cookies, cut them in half like buns, but then got lazy and filled them with storebought frosting. When I picked her up Tuesday, her teacher told me they were a hit, which was nice...but then another mom texted me and said her daughter wouldn't quit asking for more of the "birthday granola bars" they had at school and asked what the heck it was. Ha! Then another teacher for the 5s class (whose son is in my daughter's class) at drop off this morning told me she had wrapped one up to take home because her son told her she needed it, but forgot it and he was pretty miffed at her. Guess I know what my go-to treat is now!
This weekend I worked on rhinestoning my oldest daughters solo costume. She is in competitive dance and this is the first year I’ve had to rhinestone anything. We have less than three weeks until she competes. I still have some work to do but I’m glad while I’m stuck on the couch, not feeling great, that I can be useful and have something to do besides watch tv.
