  You may have trouble finding an ob to do a vbac due to the last c section being an emergency. But advocate for yourself. Before your next appointment sit down and write out a list of questions to speak to the doctor about. Ask questions about their reasoning for not wanting to allow you to have a TOLAC. make sure your desires are heard, but understand that even if you do get to do a trial of labor after cesarean there's no guarantee you'll get a vbac. Go in with an open mind to the appointment so you can get risks/ benefits of all your options. And make an informed decision based on your health( both physical and mental- and it sounds like mentally you NEED your doctor to hear you and at least discuss this!!) I'm currently trying for a vbac, but with elevated AFI and a "larger" baby I may not get to... Waiting in the doc office now to discuss my TOLAC... Otherwise I may end up with a repeat c section too. Best of luck momma, some doctors are harder to get on board.

  I, too was looking forward to a VBAC. Being that this will be my 3rd kiddo, I am having a Gentle C-Section and a tubal since we are going to be done having babies. I’ve come to terms that my baby bears health and mine matter, if I didn’t get the chance to experience a natural birth, it wasn’t in God’s plans 🥰. 

  It also won’t make me any less of a momma! 💕 
  Whatever the outcome may be, embrace it and do what’s best for you and baby 🤗.

  @lisamright My nurse told me in a few weeks they will plan out who will be the Dr on call delivering and I can set up a meeting to speak to him/her and I’m considering leaving those questions for them instead of the ob, if I have to have a cs that’s ok I can come to terms with that but I would like the chance to try to have a vbac. Thank you for the advice!

  @iscarelys thank you, I had a difficult 1st pregnancy and birth and I just feel like I need to athwart try for a vaginal delivery, if it comes to it and I can’t have one that will be ok but it’s hard not being heard by your Dr and my old OB leaving mid pregnancy when she was who delivered my first, I have that lost feeling once again and I know God has his plans for me and if I have to have another cs that’s ok I just want the chance to try.   I had a VBAC after an emergency c section with my first. I switched providers at 20 weeks because I felt they were starting to pressure me out of the VBAC due to the projected size of the baby. To make a very long story short, I was able to have an unmedicated VBAC, but he actually was huge (over 11 lbs) and we ended up in a very dangerous situation with shoulder dystocia and a 4th degree tear and hemorrhage. Birthing him was one of the most transformative experiences of my life, but I wouldn’t make the same choice again. The recovery was still better than the recovery from my c section though. 

  
  

  There are real risks to both VBAC and repeat c section. One isn’t better or more right than the other. But one might be better for you in your particular circumstances, that only you and your doctor can really know. 

  
  

  One other thing is that not all facilities are able to support VBAC or TOLAC, so it could be that the OB you met is not supportive, or that your hospital just isn’t equipped for it. It sounds like you need more information on why this was recommended for you to make a more informed decision.

  @megan2leigh I ended up with a repeat cesarean. But I want to tell you that my experience today was actually amazing!!! As long as baby is doing well you get to do skin to skin right there in the OR as soon as they do the first apgar I got to hold my baby girl while they did my tubal, closed me up and put a wound vac on! Plus they worked so hard to make me comfortable- even kept me from throwing up unlike last time. I wasn't cold, I couldn't feel any pain and I was still the first person to hold her... Plus they had a clear drape up so I got to see her sweet red curls right after she came out because they laid her on my chest! I 1000% didn't want a cesarean, but it turns out that this time I actually loved it. I tell you all this to say: if you end up with a cesarean I hope your team of doctors strive to give you as good of an experience as I have had today

  @lisamright I’m so happy everything went great for you Caesarian, thank you for sharing your story with me. We haven’t spoken about a birth plan yet I see her again on the 31st so hopefully baby boy waits that long I have a feeling maybe be earlier than Feb 24. Everyone sharing their experiences with me truly helps in informing me on what may happen and at this point I’m ready for him to be here. Thank you!

  @lisamright We had an early bird and I was able to do a vbac solely because I was fully dilated and pushing by the time we got to the hospital. They didn’t have time to even set up a C-section, found out the hospital in my town just doesn’t support them but thankfully everything went okay and after they broke my water I only pushed for 4 minutes. It was definitely an experience I will always remember and appreciate even though I wasn’t able to get an epidural or anything. Thank you for following along with my journey!
