Re: Wellness Wednesday 1/4

  • I’m going to try and cook more this week, we just can’t keep eating out it’s too expensive! Yesterday we had cheesy beef and hash browns with a cheese sauce made from bone broth. Tonight I’m going to try and make chicken and rice soup

I made chicken noodle soup last week and it was so good I will probably make it again :) Did 10 minutes on the rowing machine today and for lunch I had chicken breast with peas on the side. None of it ever sounds good but once I’ve eaten it, I feel better, so I pushed myself on this healthy lunch. Pre-preg I would eat and egg and cheese tortilla every day for lunch but lately it’s been sounding super gross. (I wfh so all my meals are home cooked pretty much which I’m normally fine with, but with pregnancy aversions it gets tough)
  • I'm watching my daughter's ballet class so that's my workout. (Jk, we started doing some short 15-minute 1-mile walks in the living room and that's actually felt really nice.)

I've been using my instant pot like CRAZY this week too. I did instant pot gyros last night and HOLY SMOKES that's going in our rotation -- it was so easy and so so good. Like dump in some meat (still frozen!) with some spices and lemon juice and DONE. I've had every intention of including more fish in our dinners but... it just sounds gross. (And also stupid expensive.)
  • Does sitting my couch count? I start run camp
this weekend and I did run through my last pregnancy, but I’m tired thinking about it. I’m already signed up for a race though.

Once I feel a little better I plan to head to the Y and do some lifting and swimming as well.

As for food, I hate all food at the moment. Nothing sounds good.

  • Oh! I forgot! Something healthy I’m doing, I am restarting minerals and had my first dose yesterday and today I felt 1000X better than I have in the last two weeks!  I ate my normal amount in one sitting and I didn’t throw up at all today!
  • Weekly workouts: I just generally follow the CrossFit programming at my gym. I'll start modifying some movements in my second trimester.

For healthy food, I meal prepped chicken fajitas with veggies and rice for the week and it's been great reheated for lunch. I've been terrible at breakfast and just grabbing a granola bar or something. I need to hard-boil some eggs or something more filling. I chop a bunch of veggies and wash fruit on Sunday so that it's easy to grab during the week.
  • I’m trying trying with the food but nausea is winning, but I’m getting lots of water in!

I ran last Saturday but this week has been go, go, go back to work and kids back to school. I plan to run this weekend and start biking some again.
