Pregnant after a Loss

Where did you first feel movement?

In what part/area of your stomach?  For the past few nights I *think* I might have felt something, but it all has been around my belly button or higher, nothing low.  So I really don't know if I've felt something or not.  It's worrying me a little b/c I'm 19 weeks and haven't felt anything definite yet.

Re: Where did you first feel movement?

  • My firiend (who had an anterior placenta) didn't feel anything until 24 weeks.  So YOu should be ok.  If you are worried, you can always call your Dr.

  • I haven't felt any kicks or felt anything from the outside. I have felt him move around some. It's usually in the evenings when I'm watching tv, sitting still and usually either on my side or leaning forward. I haven't felt anything much during the day. And it's more like finger tips running along the inside of my stomach area. Of course I've been told I have an anterior placenta so I feel most of it lower down even through I find his heartbeat near my belly button.

  • Where I "think" I am feeling movement is mostly to the left of my belly button and up to the right a little bit...hmmm...I wish there was a definite way to know for sure we were feeling the baby!
  • Low, maybe 4 inches or so below my belly button. I did feel movement a bit early than you though. Where is your uterus at? At 19 weeks it should be pretty close to your belly button so it possible to feel it up higher at that point.

Once I started feeling things I thought were movement it wasn't long before the little bumps were stronger.

  • I first felt movement super low around 17 weeks or so and then as my uterus grew, the movement moved up too
  • i first felt something at about 18 and a half weeks....  inch or two below my belly button - sometimes on one side or the other but mostly in the middle.

feels like a butterfly fluttering or something?

  • I'm 21 weeks and still haven't felt a thing. But when I went in for my US the tech noticed the baby was right under the placenta which was around 3" thick and the baby was actually kicking at that very moment and I still couldn't feel it. So, it really depends on where your baby is located.
  • With this one, I started feeling something that I thought was just a gas bubble a little below my belly button.

With my DD, though, I had an anterior placenta, and didn't feel ANYTHING until almost 25 weeks.

Both instances were so slight in the beginning and so sporadic, though, that I chalked them up to gas.  If it gets more 'regular' I would say it probably is a little movement! :)

  • I must be a weirdo (or just really lucky) but I am able to feel the baby after every meal and other random times durring the day. I have been since 18 weeks on a daily basis.

Believe it or not, the first movement I felt was EARLY at 14 weeks. Then I didn't feel anything again for about a week and then it was few and far between until I hit the 18 week mark.

As far as where I feel the movement - I feel it really low, not really near my belly button at all. I am sure this varies from person to person though......

  • I didn't start to really feel anything until about 19/20 weeks. All of my kicks were low.
  • I'm still not 100% confident I'm feeling baby, but I *think* I am. Everything I have felt so far is very low, like the middle of my hips if you were to draw a line across my abdomen. And it's only on the underside of my belly.
