Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO week of 12.26

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

  • Month/Cycle: 7

    CD: 18

WAYDTGKU: OPKs, monitoring via doctor, CM, BD

R/R: I haven’t O’ed as yet, ahhhh. I thought I would have O’ed today or tomorrow but it doesn’t even look close. I had egg white CM on Friday so thought O was coming but then it kind of went away. OPKs are still fairly light. I am meant to have post-O blood work on Friday but since O is later now than we thought, I wonder if I should delay it? But I have a call scheduled with the doctor on the following Monday. Anyways I emailed them so hopefully they let me know. I’m hoping now that I’ll O on Wednesday or Thursday 🤞🏽🤞🏽

    CS/Q: nope.

  • Month/Cycle: 1/1

    CD: 8

    WAYDTGKU: BBT, CM, BD

R/R: I had gotten more hopeful about sleep apnea treatment helping our fertility issues after reading another study about it, but then I found out someone else we know was diagnosed with sleep apnea even more severe than H and he and his wife had absolutely no problem with fertility. So that brought my hopes down a bit for our chances.

    CS/Q: None

  • @wanderlustsoul Fingers crossed O is coming soon. So nice you’re being monitored and can check in with the doc soon.

@britters314 Sorry you’re feeling down about your chances. I really hope the treatment is successful.

Month/Cycle:18 since we started trying, with time off due to loss/benching/getting on the same page about TTC, 4th cycle back at it again

    CD: 9

    WAYDTGKU: TCM herbs, BD.

R/R: Between COVID and the holidays I’m going a month without acupuncture treatment, and I think I’ll skip the OPK this month too. We’re just going to enjoy our staycation time together and BD when we feel like it this cycle.

CS/Q: Does anyone else go straight from AF to fertile fluid? I have been ovulating earlier in my cycle the last few months, maybe that’s why? Or maybe it’s the whole almost 40 thing?

  • @britters314, I’m sorry. I hope that the sleep apnea is the key for you.

@maggiemadeit, that sounds like a good approach. I hope you enjoy the staycation!

I spoke to the doctor and he said to still come for blood work anyways so that’s my plan. Still crossing it for ovulation in the next few days. I’m getting tired of BDing. 😅😅 we’re just going for EOD at this point until I confirm ovulation.

  • Month/Cycle: Uh complicated... We did IVF in June transfer failed, cancelled transfer in July. H had surgery in December and the doctors think we should be able to try naturally. So 1/1

    CD: 1

WAYDTGKU: Probably OPKs if I remember.

R/R:  I have horrific vertigo right now, I think from a cold. I'm insanely anxious about being able to try again.

    CS/Q: not at the moment

    Month/Cycle: Month 12, Cycle 8

    CD: Cycle Day 11

WAYDTGKU: Had my doctor appt today. She basically said the irregular periods were normal post-chemical, so I’ll have to wait it out. But, she said we should start doing tests. She wants my husband to do a semen analysis (because why put me on meds if the sperm isn’t working) and then have me do Cycle Day 3 bloodwork, so I guess I’m just waiting.

R/R: My doctor also told me to stop doing OPK because I have several follicles and apparently that makes your hormones go all over the place, so they’re not accurate. I’m just super anxious now and feel like I’m just waiting around to get my period so I can go get bloodwork, but my last 2 have been 62 and 53 days long….

CS/Q: Any suggestions on how to be patient?

  • @dmcgrew17 hugs my friend long cycles are the pits! For being patient, yeah I got nothing. Distraction is my favorite form, start a new book, new hobby, plan a vacation. I have planned lots of vacas this year.

  • @dmcgrew17 Sorry. It’s great that your doc is being proactive, but that waiting must be so hard. I wish I had patience, I would give some to you!
  • *lurking from the pits of IF* @dmcgrew17 sorry to be the police about this but a gentle reminder that we don't use the term baby dust on this forum out of respect for those who have had to cremate a baby (late miscarriage, stillbirth, or live birth).
    History
I am doing this on my own. Left ovary and fallopian tube removed due to cyst/necrosis just after birth. Right ovary and tube still purport to function.
Began TTC in Aug '18 @ age 35
5 or 6 (or 7?!) cycles using frozen donor sperm, ICI. All BFN
    Mar-Jun '19 IUIs, all BFN
Began process of referral for RE in spring of '19, blood tests confirm low AMH (.54) but all else is good.
May '19 HSG shows open tube, but ultrasound suggests fibroids
MRI in June '19 confirms two large fibroids, one growing through wall of uterus
In June '19 I move from California to Oregon, disrupting my insurance, referrals, etc. 5 months spent piecing it all back together.
Nov. '19 attempted myomectomy (vaginal approach) failed. 2nd surgery using laparoscopic method in Jan '20 is successful.
April '20 --> June '20, natural IUIs, all BFN.
July? saline ultrasound and bubble test demonstrate open tube
July '20 clomid cycle cancelled for thin lining
Aug-Oct, 3 femara cycles, all BFN
RE referral. While waiting to set up an appointment Nov-Jan,I continue with natural cycles and ICI, using a known donor, BFN...
Jan '21 more bloodwork, AMH is worse (.30), FSH high albeit not catastrophic at 13.2. hysteroscopy all good. "looks cozy!" says the RE.
Feb '21, injectables (menopur, novarel), iui, BFN (doc said the frozen donor sperm sample had the "best numbers she'd ever seen!")
Mar '21, injectables, iui cancelled due to lack of follicles, converted to at home-insem. BFN
May '21, first IVF round cancelled due to cyst.
July '21 IVF: standard antagonist. 225menupur/225gonal-f/cetrotide/5000u trigger, AFC 7; 6 days of stims. 8 eggs retrieved, 7 mature, 5 fertilize, 4 made it to blast. 3 are 4AB, 1 is 4BB. PGT-A results all abnormal.
Oct '21 somewhat improved AMH (.51) and significantly improved FSH (8.9). Maybe it's all the pills I swallow.
    Dec -21, standard antagonist. 225menupur/225gonal-f/cetrotide/5000u trigger, AFC 5; 11 days of stims. retrieval yields 5, 4M, 2 reach day-6 blast (4AB & 4BB). 1 low-level mosaic (chr. 3 deletion), 1 complex abnormal.
Feb '22 FET (low-level mosaic): CP.
May '22 egg retrieval, lupron flare protocol. HGH priming for 1 month before stims; md lupron 20/20u daily; menopur 225, follistim 225, 10k trigger after 8 days of stims; AFC 10; 13 retrieved; 10 mature; 8 fertilized. All frozen at 2PN for later thaw, grow, and biopsy.
July '22 egg retrieval same protocol: 9 days of stims; AFC 8; 10 retrieved, 8 mature, 4 fertilized and frozen.
Sept '22 ER same protocol: AFC 10; 12 retrieved, 11 mature, 11 fertilized.
From the 3 retrievals, 7 survived to day 5-6 blastocyst, from which I have 2 normal embryos!
Jan 20, Fully medicated FET, baby aspirin, dexamethasone, acupuncture, and as much woo as I can stand (which isn't very much). BFN.
July 23, Natural FET + baby aspirin. BFN.

R/R: work has been non stop crazy this week as a healthcare worker. Truly post-holiday madness. I ended up work crazy hours which made timing all off so I’m sure this month is a wash. Hoping it all settles down after the holidays

    CS/Q: nothing. I didn’t chart this month.

  • @optimistgardener Sorry - I definitely don’t remember reading that in the newbie thing when I started; I definitely would not have used that! I see it all the time in another forum I’m on, so I apologize.
  • @dmcgrew17 no prob!

  • Just popping in to say my fingers are crossed for you all and I sooo hope none of you are still here by the time it’s my time to try again! Hubs is gone (military) until May so I’m out until then - probably June honestly with how late he’ll get back - but looking forward to lurking in the meantime. @dmcgrew17 I need all the tips on patience too haha! Waiting until May seems like a lifetime uhh!
