  • EDD/Weeks + Days: 8/15/7w5d

    Size of baby: blueberry

How old is your other kid(s)? Newly minted 3yo

How are you feeling? Mostly just tired. Kiddo has not been sleeping well.

Rant/Rave/Questions: we've done a ton of reorganizing of our second floor and my office space is looking so much better. But also vacation is coming to an end too fast

How did your kid(s) enjoy the holiday season? Did any of them stay up past midnight last night? I think so. This is the first time she really got into opening presents and understanding Christmas/her birthday which was fun! And hell no. I was the only one who made it past midnight only because of insomnia and some asshole in our neighborhood setting off fireworks.

  • @stashattack hopefully she’ll sleep better soon! Watching Christmas through their eyes is the best and so magical!

    EDD/Weeks + Days: 8/29, 5w5d

    Size of baby: Apple seed

How old is your other kid(s)? 4

How are you feeling? Super tired mostly

Rant/Rave/Questions: we’re back to school on Tuesday this week and is going to be a busy month prepping for musical rehearsals and choosing new songs for my choruses and getting ready to host an All County festival. Hopefully it’ll make this month fly by.

How did your kid(s) enjoy the holiday season? Did any of them stay up past midnight last night? DD seemed to enjoy this winter break and she absolutely loved Christmas. We didn’t make a big deal out of NYE so she didn’t stay up late.
  • @gingermama29 me too. She's just so restless and knocks her blanket off. 🙃

im glad your daughter enjoyed her winter break! And the musicals and chorus sounds like fun!!

  • @stashattack I have also been wildly reorganizing my house and trying to declutter. I feel mentally overwhelmed when my physical space is not somewhat under control.

    EDD/Weeks + Days: Aug 26/5w6d

    Size of baby: sweet pea

How old is your other kid(s)? 5, 4 and 16 months.

How are you feeling? Not great. I’ve had some abdominal and low back cramping on my right side. And absolutely shattered with exhaustion.

    Rant/Rave/Questions: NATM

How did your kid(s) enjoy the holiday season? Did any of them stay up past midnight last night? The two oldest were super into Christmas (read: Santa, presents, stockings, etc.) this year. No one in our house stayed up to midnight 😂 Someone in our neighbourhood set off fireworks around 7:30 and they scared the sh*t out of our oldest. He was in tears, terrified of the sound. Poor kiddo.
  • @pickle-chips omg the fireworks. I had half a mind to find who was setting them Off last night. Luckily DD slept through those. Yeah our second floor was getting really out of hand. It's better now. But I still have to tackle her closet. It's kinda our catch all storage closet as we don't have a ton of storage space in our home. And it's a mess right now.

  • Omg yes we woke up at midnight on the dot in pure terror because our next door neighbors set off fireworks. So annoying. Thankfully our dog doesn’t care about them and DS sleeps through everything
  • Fireworks- I completely forgot NYE is a fireworks day and didn’t trap the cat in last night, luckily she’s still around or SO was on it. I just let her out.

Winter break ending 😢- I return to work for inservice tomorrow and children return on Tuesday. I work in an infant classroom at a preschool. I’m so ready to send my son back to school (my workplace), but not ready for myself to return. I’ve been exhausted every night of break and I’ve hardly been doing anything. I don’t know how I’ll function back at work aside from increasing caffeine…

    EDD/Weeks + Days: 8/5, 9w1d

    Size of baby: blackberry

How old is your other kid(s)? Basically 4, his bday is later this week.

How are you feeling? Besides exhausted, really moody too. I was super emotional yesterday about break ending and the upcoming lack of free time.

    Rant/Rave/Questions:

How did your kid(s) enjoy the holiday season? Did any of them stay up past midnight last night? Up until this year, my son has never even tore wrapping paper off a present. This was the first holiday he has opened any gift wrap, and he opened most of his presents! And we got through almost everything before he started to lose interest. He was mostly interested in Santa investigation. He remembered exactly how many cookies we had out and as soon as he woke up he went to check the plate. My NYE plans is to go as many years as I can before he knows that staying up until midnight is a thing.
  • EDD/Weeks + Days: 8/23 6w, 4d…I think

We were snowed in for Christmas so we are finishing off family Christmas today at my parents house. Last night my oldest had a sleepover at our house and we had an adult game night. She said she was up until 4am 🤦🏻‍♀️ I went to sleep about 2am.

  • EDD/Weeks + Days: august 25th

Size of baby: very small 😆

    How old is your other kid(s)? 20, 8, 7, 5, 3, 15 months

How are you feeling? Mostly just anxious. No real nausea yet.

Rant/Rave/Questions: my 15 month old vomited all over me and the bed last night. Yay for a stomach bug! It’s a great way to ring in the new year. I’m suppose to have an ultrasound this Tuesday and if all the other kids start getting sick we won’t be fit to go anywhere for at least 1.5 weeks. I guess that’s a big family problem. It takes awhile for any virus to run through a family. I’m hoping I don’t get it. I usually take Zofran for any type of stomach bugs we get because I can’t take care of the kids when DH is working when I’m hugging a toilet every time I move my body. I can’t take Zofran while pregnant due to it increasing heart defects and cleft pallet. Both of which run in our family. So I’ll have to suffer. The worst part is that DH is going out of town for a week tomorrow so I’ll be solo parenting. I will have to ask my 8 year old to step up and help me take care of the other kids. Which I don’t like doing. I don’t want any of my kids feeling like they have to take on adult responsibilities due to the size of our family.

How did your kid(s) enjoy the holiday season? Did any of them stay up past midnight last night? My kids really enjoyed Christmas and new years. We went to our neighborhood festivities last night. It was 15 degrees and they ran around playing on snow berms the whole time. It was only a 2 hour event and we made it to the end to watch fireworks. Last year we had to leave early because it was -15 F. I bought heavier gear this year so we can tolerate subzero temps but I’m glad it wasn’t that cold this year. They didn’t stay up because they were so worn out from climbing the snow for 2 hours. They were begging for bed when we got home.

  • @stashattack I really need to purge and organize my house. It just seems like an impossible job right now. Our current focus is getting the kid’s rooms painted and decorated. We really need to get the baby out of our room. He has regressed from eating solids to almost EBF the last few months because he takes in most of his calories at night. I have always moved my babies out by 9 months so this is new territory for me. I also need my space back.
  • EDD/Weeks + Days: 8/16, like 7w5d I think?

    Size of baby: blueberry?

How old is your other kid(s)? 7

How are you feeling? Pretty terrible most of the time. If I can lay down then I’m not as nauseous but being up and doing things makes me feel awful. Having a hard time eating much and also having a hard time getting prenatals down. Been reduced to at the very least drinking a body armor every day to get my folate in.

Rant/Rave/Questions: SO has been pretty great and helpful, more so after the first time he heard me throw up. It’s pretty violent and I think he feels bad that I feel bad. I stay home and he works 2 jobs so our usual agreement is that he doesn’t have to help with household stuff but he’s been picking up my slack and I’m very thankful!

How did your kid(s) enjoy the holiday season? Did any of them stay up past midnight last night? DS loves Christmas so he had a great time! We’ve never been big NYE people so he got sent to bed on time and we didn’t do anything special. For us we were in bed by 10:30.
  • @novelblessings sounds like you had a fun new years!

    @emeraldcity603 ugh that's rough! I'm sorry.

@justyouraveragemama awww I'm glad he picking up the slack. DH is also helping pick up my slack. Dishes are the bane of my existence and it's just gotten worse. And we need to fix our stupid dishwasher too, so I've been handwashing everything. So it's been a pain to do dishes.

  • @stashattack we have to hand wash too because we have no dishwasher and it would require major electrical work to get one out in😫 if we had a dishwasher it would solve 90% of our problems, that and a roomba lol
  • @justyouraveragemama no dishwasher! I spent a lot of time living without one and at least without kids it was not the end of the world. Add kids in, that sounds tough. I agree on how the roomba would change our life.

@emeraldcity603 I’m so sorry about the stomach bug. Really hope it doesn’t hit you and that you all can make it to your scan!!

    EDD/Weeks + Days: 8w

    Size of baby: raspberry

How old is your other kid(s)? He’ll be 20 months in a couple days

How are you feeling? Up and down. Today was much better than the last couple days. Those were nausea heavy.

    Rant/Rave/Questions:

I’m starting to panic about childcare costs with baby #2. We’re hoping to send DS to a preschool program in August when baby is due (sounds like way too much at once but that’s another discussion). Currently we’re in a nanny share because the daycares here are terrible and expensive with impossibly long wait lists. i love our nanny but it feels like im dipping my toes into a wealthy lifestyle because we’re only paying half her rate. If money were no object I would just pay for her full time after baby arrives and have DS in preschool in the morning. But I also think I’d pick the nanny over preschool and keep DS home with her (which feels unfair to him since he would so so so thrive in preschool). Anyway, what do other working families do when childcare costs double and income doesn’t? Is there a secret I don’t know about?

Another question— do you keep baby and toddler in the same room at a certain point? We’re hoping to have them share a room until they’re too old/until we have another room.

How did your kid(s) enjoy the holiday season? Did any of them stay up past midnight last night? DS enjoyed opening one present at each grandparents house and then didn’t want to open more! Lol. He LOVED ornaments too. My mom was always giving him “tours” of the tree and pointing out each ornament. He was enamored with them and with the lights. Thankfully no one stayed up till midnight — DS wakes up at 6 every morning despite all my efforts to get him even to 6:30. We can’t afford a light night around here.
  • @ccmrc143 I have my girls sharing and my boys sharing. Once we finish painting the boy’s room we plan to move the 15 month old  into his own room and then this baby will share a room with him. Then I will have 2 in each room. I like that my kids share. They always have someone with them and it reduces nighttime fears.
  • @stashattack We had “Christmas” at my parents house afterward. I fell asleep on their couch and was out! I don’t think they seemed to care or notice. I was so tired just at 10pm on NYE.
