  • @ttc3y I’m glad some of your anxieties have been resolved! My son’s weakness is chocolate croissants as well. The gym I used to go to had a coffee shop next door and he’d beg for me to go workout every day for the croissant 🤣
  • @ttc3y yay! Glad spinning babies is working for you & that you got some reassurance for your midwife. It does sound like a lot is happening for you but I think a positive attitude truly does make the diffence.

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 33w, I really can’t believe it

Baby is the size of a(n): butternut squash

    Team blue/pink/green: blue 💙

Upcoming Appointments: tomorrow for a NST and BPP

How are you feeling?: feeling good! I went into full cleaning mode today. I couldn’t take the dust & clutter from Christmas anymore. I’m hoping such a busy day will help me sleep a little better tonight.

Rants/Raves: my husband’s work has been so generous with their flexibility of his work time so that he could be at the endless appointments we’ve had and I’m just thankful for that. We also got some unexpected support from family regarding our high risk situation and I am just super thankful.

    Questions: none currently

GTKY: What’s your favorite type of foreign food?

A cuban sandwich 🤤 I used to eat them all the time before allergies. I only know of one place that can make them GF and DF the place is in Georgia and I’m in Florida.

  • @itsjess627 I’m glad he’s able to go with you! That’s so nice. I’d love to know where that Cuban is in GA! We live in GA and my husband loves a good Cuban! I love any sandwich 😋

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 33 + 5

Baby is the size of a(n): old school lunchbox (odd size comparison but I like it better than the celery option)

    Team blue/pink/green: Pink

    Upcoming Appointments: next week

How are you feeling?: pretty good other than tired and always having to pee

Rants/Raves: Rave - My husband has been home for a few days so I used that opportunity to get my hospital bag packed and organize under the bassinet. I also cleaned out my messy car and installed the car seat. I feel very accomplished!

    Questions: natm

GTKY: What’s your favorite type of foreign food? Indian! Specifically goat korma. But I also love butter chicken, Tikka, naan, and most definitely Chai. I used to not like chai but I was forced to drink it after every dinner in India for 10 days and grew to love it.

  • EDD / Weeks + Days:  34+2

Baby is the size of a(n): butternut squash

    Team blue/pink/green: blue

    Upcoming Appointments: Dec 30

How are you feeling?: tired, and overheated. We’re visiting my grandparents for a few days and I forgot that they keep their house around 80F. Meanwhile, I’m pretty sure my baby is a furnace, and I did not pack appropriately. Otherwise good though!

Rants/Raves: Rave: We had a goal of doing all our usual Christmas things this year, because next year we will be changing several traditions by necessity, and we made it to our last stop! I’m glad we’ve been able to make it. Rant: My state has a measles outbreak, and I’ve been waiting for it to start waning. The longer it goes on, the more anxious I get about the prospect of having a newborn during flu and RSV and Covid season plus a measles outbreak. I know he should have some immunity and antibodies from me for 6 months, but I grew up on my grandma’s stories of nursing kids who had measles (among other illnesses) and I can’t help but be stressed. And it means I need to resume the pediatrician search in earnest instead of winging it and just switching until we find someone we like.

    Questions: natm

GTKY: What’s your favorite type of foreign food? Sushi. That might just be the 34 weeks of not being able to have it talking, though 😂

  • @amccurls it’s called Rum Cake Lady in Blue Ridge and there’s another location a little more north on the GA, TN line. I couldn’t believe their GF bread. It was delicious.

    @fertile-turtle I’ve been wanting sushi too. 😂

also, I can’t imagine being in a house that was 80 degrees 😵‍💫 but I’m glad you’ve had a nice  Christmas & enjoyed your traditional stuff.
  • @fertile-turtle I’d need to wear a swim suit in an 80 degree house! Haha I keep our house on 70 and my husband keeps turning it up to 72-73 and I sweat through my clothes. I’d go down into the 60s if I could 🥵

@itsjess627 thanks! I’ll have to check it out next time we’re up that way

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 32 weeks

Baby is the size of a(n): armadillo

    Team blue/pink/green:pink

Upcoming Appointments: January 10th...I'm introducing my doula to my midwife

How are you feeling?: I started doing squats again (by starting I mean 2 days of a fraction of what I used to do) and now I can't walk normal. 😬 I feel huge and slow and was surprised that I'm not much faster than my mother in law with her cane.

Rants/Raves: I'm super excited about my 2 week break off from homeschool. I'm planning to get our room cleaned up and organized and the baby clothes washed and put away.

    Questions: natm

GTKY: What’s your favorite type of foreign food? I love falafel 🥙 and sushi  and most Indian and Middle Eastern and Mexican food...pretty much anything that's not typical American/ European. I'm not a meat and potatoes kind of person. Although I will eat that too. 😁

  • @seeds_of_joy way to go on the squats! I tried to do some and it hurt my pelvis so I gave up 😬 I hope your cleaning and organizing are successful!
  • @amccurls, we'll see how long it lasts 😂 It's been a few days since I attempted again because the joints of my legs feel like they're hanging from the sockets.
  • @amccurls omg, your son is so adorable! 🥰

@everyone Yes! to Cuban sandwiches, Indian food, and sushi! I totally forgot about sushi! I used to eat that a lot too prior to pregnancy and ate a nice plate of it right before getting pregnant along with unpasteurized cheese 🧀 and deli meat. Another food I can’t eat right now is Pho - too many rice noodles which will spike up my blood sugar. I’ve already have given a long list of foods I want right after the delivery to my husband 😂😂😂

@seeds_of_joy  keep up the good work with the squats! Every bit of exercise will help with the labor and delivery.

  • @ttc3y I want deli meat SO bad. I too have made a list for my husband for after delivery 🤣 mainly sub sandwiches
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 33+6

Baby is the size of a(n): Cantaloupe

    Team blue/pink/green: Blue

Upcoming Appointments: Jan 5—NST and regular checkup

How are you feeling?: Super out of breath, especially at 9,600 ft elevation right now. It’s so exhausting to walk up a flight of stairs. I still have intense shoulder blade pain. My pelvis or groin pops every time that I roll over to my other side in bed. I’m also tired.

Rants/Raves: Rave—I only have 16 days of work left before being off for 26 weeks. Rant—I’m just so ready to no longer be pregnant. I can’t imagine doing this more than once, but who knows. Lol.

    Questions: None

GTKY: What’s your favorite type of foreign food? Pitaya

  • @karbaud pregnancy has always been super miserable for me and here I am on #3 🤷🏻‍♀️  lol totally get it though. Ready to have my body back and feel normal.

  • @karbaud that is so awesome that your long break is coming that soon!!! Don't worry...you'll forget all about the misery of pregnancy and do it again. 😂 If there was no such thing as pregnancy amnesia a lot of us wouldn't be here. 😆
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 33W today

Baby is the size of a(n): cauliflower, although he feels waaaay bigger/longer than that to me, lol!!!

    Team blue/pink/green: blue 💙💙💙

Upcoming Appointments: I had my in office visit this morning with my high risk doc, and then I have an ultrasound this Friday. Because of my incredibly old age, starting in January, I get to go in like all the freaking time. See the rant/rave section for details 😂

How are you feeling?: Same as last week, big, unable to eat much at any given time, uncomfortable especially when trying to sleep. Ready to have my body back, lol!

Rants/Raves: Starting next month, thanks to my ultra-gestational pregnancy at age 42 (ironically, nothing else is “risky” about me aside from the epilepsy I have all of the time anyway) I get to be checked out on a weekly basis for the rest of the pregnancy. And then, starting mid-January, I get to go in twice a week for a stress test for the baby!! So much time at the doctor’s office, lol. I had to have one stress test on my baby last time (when I was a much, much younger 39) and that was only because my BP was so low that I actually fainted in a mall near the beginning of my third trimester. My BP has been low again this pregnancy, but luckily no fainting!

Semi-rant- it sounds like the doc won’t recommend inducing my VBAC even though my last c-section healed super cleanly. Kind of sucks, because I’d really like to have him come out VBAC but I’m afraid he’s going to hang out in there past his due date like both of his sisters did. The one thing is this boy seems way bigger and more active than either of his sisters, so maybe he’ll bust out early?? I dunno 🤷‍♀️ At this point, I’ve opted for a c-section at 40 weeks, but we’ll see…

Questions: Nothing at the moment 👍

GTKY: What’s your favorite type of foreign food? I think almost all of my favorite foods are foreign, lol! Top favorites are Indian dishes (mostly vegetarian Indian food), Thai food, and Puerto Rican food 😋

  • @cpk3535 my boys all came earlier than my girl. Maybe it's a thing. 🤷‍♀️
  • @seeds_of_joy I’m really hoping that’s what happens this time- send me good vibes!!! 😎
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 31+6

Baby is the size of a(n): Asparagus or a fanny pack (feels more like a full on backpack though!)

    Team blue/pink/green: Pink

    Upcoming Appointments: Jan 4th

How are you feeling?: Good for the most part.  It's getting harder to move though. Mostly in bed.  I have a hard time rolling over or even getting up.

Rants/Raves: Rave - We have settled on a name finally.  Rant - We still have so much to do and I am lacking the motivation.  I'm just waiting for that nesting thing to happen. lol

    Questions: None

GTKY: What’s your favorite type of foreign food? Hungarian.  Things like Chicken Paprikash, Haluska, Stuffed Cabbage.

Like some of you, I am also missing Deli meats.

  • @kamays54, I’m also hoping that nesting thing kicks in. 😬

The third trimester has been the worst for me. I’m so tired, and I don’t want to do anything!
  • @kamays54 @karbaud I also need the nesting thing to set in. We made a lot of progress before Thanksgiving, but we haven’t done much since and all the baby shower stuff needs washed and put away. And now we’re looking at a likely cephalic version at 37 weeks which means a 6-7% chance of labor or a C-section then, so we really should be ready before we go 😅
  • I’m with you ladies. I had a spurt of putting Christmas stuff away but no real nesting. We’re relocating in just a few short weeks so I need to get it together. 😬
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 2/7, 34w5d

Baby is the size of a(n): squatternut bash (any Friends fans here?!)

    Team blue/pink/green: 💙🌈

Upcoming Appointments: 1/3- they had to cancel my 33 week appointment bc my OB had COVID, so I haven’t seen anyone for almost a month!

How are you feeling?: Since it’s been a while since I’ve been seen by my OB, I’m starting to feel a bit more anxious. Also, I’m pretty sure little guy has dropped because I have a lot more weight and pressure in my pelvic region and can feel a lot of his movements in the lower part of my uterus now.

Rants/Raves: both 🤷🏻‍♀️ because I had a late miscarriage in early Jan of 2022 that led to an emergency D&E, I’m starting to have some PTSD of finding blood when I wipe, which is very often because I try and stay super hydrated so I pee every 30 min it feels like. I’m grateful that we’re to the point now where if something happened and he was born this early he’d have a high chance of being healthy and happy, but I can’t shake the awful feeling of anxiety and stress I’ve been having this past week. So rant about the anxiety/stress, but rave because journaling and the constant walking with my dog (while listening to my audiobooks) has been such a tool for me!

Questions: we created a birth plan, installed the car seat, and packed our hospital bags for us and the bb, but I still haven’t set up an “official” nursery in our home because I can’t decide what room I feel best with him being in. Our master bedroom is upstairs far from the other bedrooms so I get anxious thinking he’ll be so far away once he’s out of the bassinet and ready to be in his own crib/room. Anyone else have a layout like that??

GTKY: What’s your favorite type of foreign food? I’m 1/2 Filipino and 1/2 German (my parents are literally polar opposites, it’s hilarious!) and I grew up eating a LOT of Filipino staples, so Pancit/Menudo/Adobo are comfort foods for me. I also love Thai & sushi 🤤

  • @kb1322 sorry to hear about the anxiety but I’m so glad you’ve found tools that help!

@kb1322 I’m half Filipino too! Omg, between the unstructured go with the flow nature of Filipino culture and the rule following with German culture, it must have been fascinating growing up in your household!!! I love Pancit and Adobo. But I also loved the weird stuff like Dinaguan. My mom and I bond over making lumpia and eating Balut as a snack.

Fun story: My husband and I once took my parents to a German restaurant when they visited us a few years ago. And it so happened that the German owner was married to a Filipino woman who was helping out. So there we were in a German restaurant ordering German food and my mom and the owner’s wife were conversing in Tagalog! 😂

@kb1322 if you have room for a crib in your room, could you have him with you a while past the bassinet stage? I decided to get a mini crib this time around and keep it in our room even though I cosleep in our king sized bed. I know there will be nights I'm too exhausted or need time with the hubby and be utilizing that crib. I think being on a different floor than the other bedrooms, I would definitely keep the mini "nursery" in my room for a long time and use the downstairs nursery for play and feeding, changing when downstairs. I think I've mentioned before that I regretted even having our first baby in his own room at an incredibly young age. I chose differently with the other 4 babies.

Also, congrats on your rainbow!! 🌈❤️
  • @kb1322 my first slept in my room until maybe 6 months and I’ll do the same for this one due to living arrangements while we wait on our house. But even if we had the extra bedroom, I’d probably still do it. If she’s not sleeping through the night yet, I’ll keep her in my room to make night feeds easier. Once baby starts sleeping through the night, you could easily transition to the downstairs room and have a monitor in case they wake up.
