I'm so thankful for having family nearby. We bought a house last year (first time buying -- we'd just always rented because we never knew when my husband's job would take us elsewhere when he was coaching) and it's five minutes from my parents, which has been AMAZING. I have no idea how people do adult things without their parents. We do stuff with them all the time, they help us figure out the random new-house quirks (what's the best way to put a floor in this attic? Our yard is giant but is overrun by dandelions in this corner, what should we do with that? Why isn't the home humidifier running right?), and they pick up my daughter from preschool once a week (she goes two mornings a week this year) and take her to their house for lunch, crafts and games, nap, and snack, so I have a full 9-5 day to myself. My in-laws are generally great (they do odd things sometimes but they also think I'm nuts on some stuff, most of which I chalk up to regional differences since they're very east-coast people and I'm full-fledged Midwestern) but they're halfway across the country, and being able to just drop by and see my mom or bring my dad along for a basketball game or see if they want to come over for a random midweek dinner is actually really awesome.
@ccmrc143 congrats on the dark lines! What kind of muffin did your husband get you?
I am thankful for being WFH for the most part. Motivation for work has been rough recently and I'm glad I don't have to share the office with my two other co-workers right now. LOL
@ki1244 omg it can be so hard living away from family. Both sets are 2.5-3hrs away. We do have DH's closest friend from HS that lives 20min away who is a home reno wiz so we got that part covered. But like we haven't really had child care ever since our first. It's been so hard not really ever having a break. I love my kiddo, but I remember constantly (in a good way) being at my grandparents house growing up and having them watch me.
I am thankful for the amount of support and Excitement I’ve had from my sister and best friends this pregnancy! With my first I was 19 and it was a big whoops so I super embarrassed and hid it until I was like 25ish weeks. I love how much this baby is loved and celebrated already❤️
