Questions:

GTKY: What are yours and your partners Love Languages?

Edit: for anyone that doesn't know what love languages are, they're the way we like to give and receive love. It's helpful for you and your partner to know eachothers. Some people feel loved when they receive gifts, while others feel loved when their partner spends time with them. Knowing what your partner needs to fill their love cup can be beneficial. Here's a link to a quiz.

Re: Weekly Check In 11/28

  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 23 + 3

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Baby is the size of a(n): grapefruit/as tall as a twizzler

    Team blue/pink/green: girl

Upcoming Appointments: Dec 5 for glucose and 6th for prenatal

How are you feeling?: Okay... Can't get over an awful cough that started a week ago just as I was getting over another cough that started in early October. Booooo

Rants/Raves: rave: my 3 year old has just been so cute lately. Yes, he's been stubborn and annoying and clingy at times, but he's also been polite - saying thank you unprompted and even sometimes please. He played "bedtime" yesterday and this morning and laid down on the floor and asked for a lullaby, like how cute are you??
Rant: after a week off, some of my students are unruly and need to be reminded how to behave in school. 🙄 Three more weeks til winter break!

    Questions: natm

GTKY: What are yours and your partners Love Languages?  Mine is acts of service, I think. Especially when he goes above and beyond with chores. His is physical intimacy, I think
But we haven't officially done the quiz.

Baby is the size of a(n): Cher’s cell phone in Clueless 🤣

    Team blue/pink/green: Green

Upcoming Appointments: Next week for checkup and I’m assuming we will schedule a glucose and eventually a Tdap

How are you feeling?: Getting hit with fatigue really hard these last few days. Otherwise, feeling huge but not bad.

Rants/Raves: Happy to have finally made it to “viability,” though that is a loose term. I’m just glad we’ve made it without hiccups this far and hope the rest of the pregnancy is uneventful. The household has made it through RSV and Flu, so now I’m just waiting for the Covid shoe to drop, but hopefully not.

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: What are yours and your partners Love Languages? Mine is acts of service and his is physical intimacy for sure. Sometimes we have to be reminded of each other’s needs for sure.

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 25w, 6 days. Roughly 99 days!🥳

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Baby is the size of a(n):Chopstick

    Team blue/pink/green: Pink

Upcoming Appointments: Dec 16 for prenatal.

How are you feeling?: Tired and anxious. I had a walk-in appointment today because I spotted while I was sleeping last night, which most likely caused my heart rate to be way higher than normal…thanks anxiety. Ended up being fine(Dr couldn’t find the source of the blood…I’m thinking baby kicked me too hard 😂), but wanted to get checked out since I’m being monitored for pre-eclampsia.

    Rants/Raves:
Rant- I hate the 3 week wait before winter break. It’s really hard to stay motivated, especially when you want to sleep all day 😅

Rave- Baby’s kicks have gotten so strong I can feel a little limb…not just the muscle spasm movements anymore 😂🥹

Questions: Has anyone ever been monitored for pre-eclampsia, and ended up not developing it?

GTKY: What are yours and your partners Love Languages?

    Mine- words
    husband- actions

Baby is the size of a(n): Cantaloupe

    Team blue/pink/green: Girl

    Upcoming Appointments: ME appointment tomorrow

How are you feeling?: SPD pain and rhinitis but other than that good.

Rants/Raves: Rant: I went off on my sister today her two youngest kids have HFM. She took her oldest (3) to the doctor who confirmed it. He youngest (6months) has the exact same symptoms. We were supposed to have a girl night Friday but postponed it because of it. Shw work with my parents and they have a kids Christmas party this weekend, which my parents are taking my daughter to. My sister said the doctor told her the 6mo doesn't have HFM and the oldest is fine to go. Although the CDC website says they can still be contagious for weeks after. Which my doc also said when my daughter had it. At that time, my sister also asked me not to come to her kids birthday, which was 2 weeks after all of her symptoms were gone. She decided that she would be bringing her kids to the Christmas party. I lost my mind on her. I can't believe that she would being her sick kids to a kids play place while sick. Like they still have blisters on them. And she's someone that still won't go to a grocery store because she doesn't want her kids to get sick. Long rant done 😅 thanks for reading if you got this far.

Rave: i have plans to go to a cafe and get a pedicure with some girl friends this weekend. I'm so excited.

    Questions: n/a

GTKY: What are yours and your partners Love Languages? We both took the test last pregnancy. I'm words of affirmation and quality time. My husband is acts of service and quality time. I need to be better at the acts of service for him.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: March 21st / 24 weeks tomorrow

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Baby is the size of a(n): ear of corn

    Team blue/pink/green: Blue

Upcoming Appointments: not for like 3 weeks for glucose stuff (have to do the 3 hour test again)

How are you feeling?: we came down with a whole new illness this past week. Congestion and just a really leaky face for both of us. Husband started feeling sick in the middle of dinner with his parents so we were able to GTFO early.

    Rants/Raves:
    - rant is the impatience of our clients right now. We’re getting everything ready for next tax season and I have to keep reminding clients on a pretty much daily basis that our firm only has 3 people and we’ve all been sick so we’re working on it. There are no deadlines or things that need to be met right now so there’s no reason to fuss right now. It’s frustrating to me when adults act like children.
    - Rave - i had really annoying thanksgiving with my in laws but it was weirdly the best time we’ve ever had with them. My MIL was acting rationally and thinking of the grand baby instead of herself. It’s like a switch went off and she’s acting more level headed. Also my FIL had a really scary hospitalization earlier this year (we were very scared that he wasn’t going to make it) and he is pretty much back to normal now so that was really great to see.

Questions: echoing the questions above about preeclampsia. I’m being monitored for it right now too. Has anyone experienced it? How did it affect L&D?

GTKY: What are yours and your partners Love Languages? I’m not 100% sure what this one is. Sounds like a quiz that I missed somewhere. We always joke that out love language is getting each other things once we’re tucked into bed at night. We’re very actions based when it comes to love and especially lately since we’ve been sick. We both lean in 100% to playing nurse.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 26+2

    FTM/STM/TTM+: 4TM

Baby is the size of a(n): Butternut squash

    Team blue/pink/green: Green

Upcoming Appointments: Tomorrow for my glucose 🤞

How are you feeling?: Pretty good, not much to complain about.

Rants/Raves: Rave: Got go to a concert last night! So much fun!

    Questions:

GTKY: What are yours and your partners Love Languages? Mine is Acts of Service. I never feel more loved than when DH takes care a chore that's normally my responsibility. His is Touch. He falls asleep to a backrub every night.
  • We happened to talk about love languages in my MW group care session today. She said that your partner knowing your love language is really helpful during labour. I'm words of affirmation so giving me positive affirmations during labour will help me. Someone that is gifts, will be calmed by their partner bringing them things they know they need and love. Like their favorite pillow, or drink.

And then after baby is born it helps with the relationship because you know how to fill their cup. A partner who likes touch, might feel loved if you just lean on them while feeding baby.

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 23.5 weeks

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Baby is the size of a(n): Carrot

    Team blue/pink/green: pink!

Upcoming Appointments: Tomorrow for my 18 week appointment...maybe. Forecast is calling for 3-5" of snow tonight. It snows like once a year here so they don't plow the roads and everyone just accepts getting snowed in for 1-2 days. We'll see what happens.

How are you feeling?: Hungry and insomnia, mostly. Starting to have difficulties bending over to put on my boots for work.

Rants/Raves: Rave - childproofing the light switch seems to have done the trick and DD went to bed at a very reasonable 9pm last night. *fingers crossed* Rant - Getting a little frustrated with a new coworker who also seems to have ADD. Like once someone teaches him how to do something, he still doesn't do it because he gets distracted. His subordinates have started to work around him and come to me for things that he should be doing.

    Questions:

GTKY: What are yours and your partners Love Languages? Mine are Quality Time and Acts of service. Hubby's are Physical Touch and Quality Time.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: March 5; 26w2d

    Team blue/pink/green: blue 💙

Upcoming Appointments: tomorrow for a dental crown… I broke part of one of my molars.

How are you feeling?: heavy. Like I don’t remember feeling this uncomfortable already at this point with my first son

Rants/Raves: my rant is that my dental crown will cost $480 after insurance. My rave is that I’m all done Christmas shopping!! It was all done online this year except for like two gifts haha. And nothing was bought full price!

    Questions: none

GTKY: What are yours and your partners Love Languages? We both actually have Words of Affirmation. We took the quiz a year or so ago!
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 3.14.23  25 weeks

Baby is the size of a(n): head of cauliflower

    Team blue/pink/green: pink

    Upcoming Appointments: next Wednesday

How are you feeling?: got over the congestion stuff to get a stomach bug on thanksgiving. Made it easy to not over eat I guess… but finally feeling okay. Not great or anything just not sick 😅

Rants/Raves: How many flooring choices does there have to be?!?? But also so thankful we get to put in new floors! 😍

    Questions: nah

GTKY: What are yours and your partners Love Languages? Hubby: physical touch (which I’m struggling with right now because pregnancy…) Mine: Acts of Service and he is excelling at this. He’s currently demo-ing the old horrible floor I hate.
  • @shorty-sar and @disneybaby23
Im also being monitored for pre-eclampsia. I’ve never had it before. It’s good to know I’m not alone though!
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 25w6d | March 9

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Baby is the size of a(n): chopstick

    Team blue/pink/green: girl number 2!

Upcoming Appointments: glucose test on Friday morning

How are you feeling?: I’m finally about over my cold and grateful everyone else in the house seems to have been spared! Pregnancy wise feeling good - just anxious as I feel like I have sand in an hour glass in terms of getting things set for woke before I’m out.

Rants/Raves: Rant: I’m tired of feeling 5 steps behind at work. I know it’s the season between end of year reviews, pushing toward finishing the year strong on goals, and strategic prep for next year but, fuck. I am just tired. Rave: I found a slam dunk hire for the role I’ve been working on filling for ages thank god. Offering to her today! That all definitely help feel like I can close the door on one of the projects swimming in my brain.

    Questions:

GTKY: What are yours and your partners Love Languages?  Mine is acts of service and words of affirmation; husband is physical touch and quality time. I think it is super interesting how many of us have this dynamic!
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: March 15th / 25 weeks

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Baby is the size of a(n): Cauliflower

    Team blue/pink/green: Pink!

Upcoming Appointments: Midwife + glucose on December 15th.

How are you feeling?: Pretty good. It’s getting difficult to do things like put shoes on.

Rants/Raves: I just got a Magic Bullet and I’m so excited! I had one when I was a teenager and I loved it. On Thanksgiving my in-laws asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I told
them I wanted a Magic Bullet and they dropped one off today. So, that was a nice surprise.

    Questions: N/A

GTKY: What are yours and your partners Love Languages? My love language is physical touch and his is acts of service. After the honeymoon stage of our relationship was over it cause some disagreements, but now that we understand each other’s love language we’ve been able to use it to strengthen our bond.

    EDD / Weeks + Days: March 2 / 27w2d

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Baby is the size of a(n): Head of lettuce

    Team blue/pink/green: Pink

Upcoming Appointments: Doing my GD test right now! Then a checkup on Monday

How are you feeling?: Great. Heavy, fuller. The very mild pelvic pain I’ve mentioned a few times in the past two months or so suddenly got much worse around last week, but it’s better now. I’ve been reading about exercises I can do to strengthen that area - apparently, squats are good for the pelvic floor, plus some others.

    Rants/Raves:
Rant: Can’t think of anything, except that we’re very behind in preparations and still have to buy pretty much everything. We just bought a car, though, which is a huge step for us (I haven’t had a car in 9 years! Husband just has a motorcycle.), which is nice.

Rave: Life has been pretty good lately. I’m just so happy and grateful to be getting close to the end, husband just got a pretty substantial performance-based raise, he and I have been doing better and talking things out and being quick to apologize and forgive (and forget), thrilled to feel the baby moving so much. And I love December so much! (on top of everything else, it’s my birthday month)

Questions: I have one but will save it for next week

GTKY: What are yours and your partners Love Languages?

Mine - physical touch (and, to a lesser extent, words of affirmation)
    His - acts of service

@lightintothevoid Our LLs are the same! (I think it’s interesting that we’re both dancers and find physical touch so important) Something tells me we’ve probably dealt with a lot of the same issues - glad you’ve learned how to work through them.

@disneybaby23 I think that’s such a sweet love language to share! It makes me think of something I shared with my husband the other day. I read in a book eons ago about a couple who had this agreement that love is not only getting a glass of water in the middle of the night for your partner if they ask, but it’s just as loving (and essential) to ASK for the glass of water if you feel you need it. Idk, it’s just always stuck with me. Serving is love, but so is having the vulnerability and trust to ask to be served and let yourself be served. Love means not repressing your needs or fearing being a bother, but trusting that your partner loves you and loves to serve you ❤️
  • A little late to the game this week, but here we are!

    EDD / Weeks + Days:  Feb 28/ 27w4d

    FTM/STM/TTM+: baby #4

Baby is the size of a(n): terrarium

    Team blue/pink/green: pink!

Upcoming Appointments: Midwife appointment next week

How are you feeling?: I had a weird experience this week with a migraine/visual situation. It's all fine now, and hasn't really happened again, but I am getting dizzy-ish everyday around lunch, along with a headache. If this keeps happening I'll be making an appointment with my family doctor since I think I've hit the limit of what the midwives can check for me.

Rants/Raves: rant - all I want to eat right now is Christmas baking, but I have zero desire to bake anything. It's a ridiculous conundrum. rave - I finally figured out an issue I was having with a database at work, and now my life is so much easier. I love hitting that "aha" moment!

Questions: anyone else OVER IT with pregnancy at this point? I don't think I hit this feeling until much later with my previous pregnancies, but at this point I'd be happy to have this baby tomorrow - despite the fact that our house is not at all ready yet.

GTKY: What are yours and your partners Love Languages? Mine is quality time, his is physical touch. Ironically, my second lowest is physical touch, and his lowest is quality time. We're doomed! (Just kidding).
  • @muggsd I’m only 24 weeks and over it. Maybe because it was unplanned and I’ve already BTDT? Or maybe because I am old and creaky and so much more tired this time? Anyhow I feel you.
  • @muggsd I’m feeling the same. I’m going to be really happy to not be pregnant anymore. Not 100% sure how im supposed to be getting bigger for 15 more weeks. I feel pretty maxed out.
  • @muggsd I feel like I’ve got till the end of December in me before I’m over it. I just feel *pregnant* so much more this time around.
  • @missmuisq That is interesting!! I’m glad to hear that you guys are doing better and are talking through things. ❤️
  • @muggsd yep. Over it too. And I’m not even into the third tri yet..
