How are you feeling?: Good now that I'm over a stomach bug. Really struggling with gaining weight the last month. It fluctuates since I started my restrictive diet, job and now stomach bug. But thankfully I gained a lot at first.
Rants/Raves: I don't remember what I was excited about ...mom brain.
Oh...now I remember! I secured a back up birth hot tub so now I will for sure have a heated tub unlike the cold one I hated and got out of for my last delivery. And it's covered through our medisharing program so we will be reimbursed!!
Questions: natm
GTKY: What was the last TV show you binge watched? Not a big TV watcher. The last show was the 90s western Young Riders earlier this year. Older moms, do you remember this show?
How are you feeling?: I’m having really bad sciatic pain. I have to pee constantly. My husband and I actually saw my belly move when the baby kicked yesterday. It was both fun and creepy. Overall, I feel like it’s getting difficult to easily move around sometimes (like rolling over in bed 😂). I hope the next 8-9 weeks go by very quickly.
Rants/Raves: Rave—I spent last week making a plan to transition my projects and team members at work. Also, I ordered some postpartum necessities so that I can begin packing my hospital bag. Rant—I haven’t washed baby clothes, cleaned out my garage, cleaned the basement, and more. I have a lot to do. Hopefully, he doesn’t plan on making his entrance too early.
Questions: Is anyone planning on drinking red raspberry tea or eating dates to help naturally induce labor? Or, have you done this before? I really want to avoid a super long hospital induction. I plan to ask my OB about this too. I hate the taste of tea, and 7 dates a day seems like a lot. But, I’m considering starting this around week 36 if I get the okay. I’ve also heard that membrane sweeps are painful and can only be done if you’re already starting to dilate, so I want to help move that along. Maybe I should just start walking more. 🤷🏻♀️
GTKY: What was the last TV show you binge watched? I just binge watched Wednesday on Netflix. I loved it and definitely recommend it.
@karbaud I did the tea, pineapple, walked stairs daily (I lived in a 3rd floor apartment and my office was on the 2nd floor at work), bounced on an exercise ball, almost everything you can think of naturally. He still came 3 days late. They just come when they’re ready 🤷🏻♀️ however, I’ll still try all the things this time if she gets close to 40 weeks 🤣
How are you feeling?: Good, other than also needing to pee constantly and being very tired. See rant below.
Rants/Raves: Rant - My 4 year old has slept with me for 2 years while my husband was deployed or out of town for work a lot after that. So with him now sleeping in his own room he’s waking up at 1:30 every night and it’s wearing on me.
Rave - I have my appointments scheduled out to 36 weeks so it’s feeling very real! Also, my house officially went under contract yesterday 🙌🏼
Questions: not currently
GTKY: What was the last TV show you binge watched? I also binged Wednesday recently, so good! Also Dirty John: Betty.
How are you feeling?: Big. Moving is definitely getting harder, and my feet, knees, and hips are starting to protest the looser joints and heavier body combo. Also being able to feel the baby move has been reassuring this week, but I’ve started to be able to feel him specifically flipping or rolling in this way where I can feel some body part push out and around, and it makes me feel a lot like the alien from Alien is trying to burst out of my belly. Funny, but mentally and physically uncomfortable.
Rants/Raves: Rave: Testing negative for Covid! So I’m back at work, was able to reschedule our infant CPR and breastfeeding basics classes that we had to miss last week, and we’re just in general able to get back on track. As a bonus, my husband never did get it, and my boss is being generous in his assessment of the amount of work I did from home so I didn’t lose as much of my buffer as I was worried I would.
Questions: natm
GTKY: What was the last TV show you binge watched? M*A*S*H was my background noise of choice last week, but I did break it up with some Love is Blind and Arrested Development mini-binges, too. Usually I don’t watch that much TV, but spending so much time confined to my bedroom meant pure trash and comfort TV binging 😂
@fertile-turtle I finished Love is Blind yesterday, but skipped a couple episodes through to the weddings to see who got married or not. I was very shocked by some!
@karbaud I drank red raspberry leaf tea throughout my 3rd trimester with #4. He came 2 weeks early and it was the best labor ever. With #5 I did it even more religiously through 2nd trimester as well. He was a week early and the labor was not a fantastic experience. Please keep in mind that all my babies were born between 2 days and 2 weeks early so my experiment concludes little and also my labors were all fairly long. I have not drank it this time around. I may later on but I'm not spending the amount of time and energy I did last time on it. I've recently heard the eating 2 to 4 dates (depending on their size) the last 6 weeks speeds up delivery and makes it easier. I think I'll try that this time!
@karbaud Other activities and options to help induce labor when closer to the date that I learned from hypnobirthing class: nipple stimulation, acupuncture, primrose oil (oral or vaginal), induction massage, and relaxation (she recommended taking a week off before the due date)
@amccurls Congrats on getting your home under contract! I hope the process and transition goes smoothly!
EDD / Weeks + Days: 28w 4d - yay! Finally in the 3rd trimester!
Baby is the size of a(n): 🍆

Upcoming Appointments: Tomorrow with my midwife
How are you feeling?: Overall pretty good. I’m staying active with tennis, Pilates, yoga, and walking. A little ache and discomfort here and there but nothing I can’t manage or find ways to resolve.
Rants/Raves: Just like @itsjess627, We are in full nesting mode. I’m loving the new elevated versions of some of our rooms. The guest room where my parents will be staying is coming together with a new curtain, bedding, and bedside furniture. We rearranged our craft room and hobby area to support our needs better and are waiting for some furniture parts from IKEA to help store and organize all of our creative interests. We’ve rearranged our office to fit both of us. My husband and a friend hung up my new glass whiteboard this weekend to use and it looks soooo good! I feel like a CEO 😂 I’m looking forward to fully moving into my new office space since my current office space is the room that will be the nursery. Once I move my current office space into the new office space, I can fully focus on rearranging, organizing, and preparing the nursery/ kid’s room. I’ve already purchased the curtains and cute woodland vinyl decals to stick on the walls. We have a bunch of baby stuff that arrived after our shopping spree from Black Friday that requires to be sorted and organized. Last week I laundered and put away the new baby clothes I purchased and the reality of entering motherhood just became even MORE real for me. 😳
Questions: natm
GTKY: What was the last TV show you binge watched? My recent guilty pleasure is “Love at First Sight”- I’m at the tail end of the 13th season. @fertile-turtle I’ve seen the 1st and 2nd seasons of Love at First sight but could not bring myself to watch the 3rd. I got so annoyed with the cast of the 2nd season.
@ttc3y the second season was actually the last one I watched, and it was also the absolute worst! Nobody had any chemistry, there were no couples you wanted to root for in any way. It was just so clear that it wasn’t going to work well for any of them.
The third season had a few toxic people/couples for sure, but it also had some sweet ones that you were hoping would do well. It was much more balanced and fun to watch for sure.
Upcoming Appointments: the 19th. Every two weeks until mid January and then every week and I’m scheduled through Feb 7
How are you feeling?: miserable. My doc convinced me to take something instead of suffering with this heartburn so hopefully it helps. I am hardly eating because I feel like crap when I eat.
Rants/Raves: rave is getting to do fun holiday things with my family. Rant is how I’m feeling and my son has a cold so isn’t sleeping and even though it is hard for me to get out of bed my husband insists that my son only wants me because I do better with him when he’s sick. Last night he threw his pacifier and I had to crawl under his crib to get it 😫
Questions: nope
GTKY: What was the last TV show you binge watched? I don’t really get much time to watch TV. The last series we watched was the great British bake off actually which is funny because I’m not a baker at all but I love that show.
ttc3y I'm so jealous you can still play tennis! I feel like 3rd trimester would fly by much quicker if I could still play!
EDD / Weeks + Days: 29+1, omg!
Baby is the size of a(n): Butternut squash
Team blue/pink/green: 💙
Upcoming Appointments: Routine midwife appointment on thursday, and then I just started antenatal classes.
How are you feeling?: Not great, been sick for 12 days and struggling to fight it off. But the good thing is, the break for my body has improved the pelvic pain.
Rants/Raves: Not pregnancy related, but I am absolutely slaying work at the moment 😎 All I do seems to work out right now. Almost makes me sad to be taking 9 months maternity leave!
Questions: Nah.
GTKY: What was the last TV show you binge watched? I just rewatched Game of Thrones with the boyfriend, but we are not properly binge watching. It's taken far too long!
@angbaby83 I ❤️LOVE ❤️ the Great British Bake Off! I also love the Great Pottery Throw Down and The Great Sewing Bee (which have been hard to find in the states and I’m behind by about 3 seasons!).
@justkp As for tennis, I’m just playing with the beginners, non competitively, and only doubles. Nothing too intense. I just need something to keep me moving and the gestational diabetes controlled.
@nwshay Happy to hear your COVID symptoms are mild. Wishing you a smooth and speedy recovery!
Upcoming Appointments: Just had my growth scan today. Next one in 2 weeks
How are you feeling?: Better now knowing I have options for my heartburn but worried because the dr said it is probably going to get worse. @fertile-turtle you were completely correct. It was the absorption and the dr said that because my iron wasn't that low she isn't worried too much but just not to take anything too close to when I take the supplement. She also prescribed something a little stronger for if/when it gets really bad.
Rants/Raves: Small rave - since it was our anniversary this past weekend, I got to talk to my 3 best friends a little bit. They are in another state and we don't get to talk very much because...life. It was good catching up even just for a little bit.
Questions: None
GTKY: What was the last TV show you binge watched? We don't really binge watch shows (husband has a short attention span and can get bored with shows) but we usually can "binge" shows like The Challenge, The Circle, or crime documentaries. We started Wednesday which I'm loving so far and we only watched 1 season of the great British bake off and 2 of the kids ones and I love shows like that. I will usually have either a cooking competition show or home renovation show on in the background while I'm doing things around the house.
