Thankful Thursday 12/1

What are you thankful for this first Thursday of December?

Re: Thankful Thursday 12/1

  • I'm thankful for a low key vacation this weekend. We're heading to the beach, which is not very warm on the east coast this time of year, but the change of scenery/pace will be a nice way to decompress and spend some time together as a couple.

  • @trubaby411 that sounds lovely!  Enjoy your time together.

@enw1028 yay for a chill weekend.  And that your husband was able to feel baby!  Mine was able to this week too!  It is very exciting.

I’m thankful that we only have two more weeks at school until winter break. I’m also thankful that we are finally getting our bathroom renovated. I’ll have to deal with some construction leading up to Christmas, but it will be so worth it!

@iiirene That’s so great that they are letting you have a more convenient parking spot! Pregnancy perks!

@scaredunprepared I’m so glad to hear that you’ve gotten reassuring feedback! I hope your doctor is able to confirm tomorrow!

    @scaredunprepared that’s wonderful! Such a relief, I’m sure.

I’m thankful to have two trips coming up that I really look forward to for different reasons. Babymoon 2.0 with DH and a girls weekend after the holidays with some girlfriends!
  • @scaredunprepared great to hear that things are looking up! What a relief!
  • @iiirene I work at two different elementary schools, and the one that I travel to at 10 am has terrible parking. I decided the first time I have to walk a block and a half pregnant in a Chicago winter, I'm asking for a reserved spot lol

I'm thankful we finally got a contractor over tonight to start our big house project we've been planning since June! We live in a 100+ year old house, and the stairs to the basement are terrifyingly steep, so we're completely rearranging our house to have them moved and made longer and then we're also framing out a bed room for the baby! Such a hassle but so so exciting!
  • Thankful for a good AS scan today and finally getting to see how big this peanut is growing ❤
  • @allykat92 hooray! So excited for you!

  • @ladyofarlington @acleverusername Thank you so much! It such an exciting opportunity and my management is so understanding of everything!
  • @allykat92 congratulations!! And that’s what my h and I do too: neither of us work full time but I work more. I’m at 32-36 hours a week and he works about 20-25. I work daytime and he works evenings, so we’ve never needed daycare.

The downside is a lot of solo parenting and that we don’t see each other much during the week, but childcare cost where we live is outrageous. We’ve saved thousands and get to spend more time with the kids. It’s a great setup if you’re able to swing it!

  • Thank you! I think it will work out pretty well for us. My husband is so supportive of it top. He is excited to have a lot of time to bond with her and with the way my job works I will be home every night and weekend without needing to stay late or work weekends!
  • @allykat92 sorry I missed your update earlier!  Congratulations!  That's awesome, and the fact that your husband can stay home so you can save on daycare costs is wonderful, too!
