FTM/STM/TTM+: STM EDD/Weeks+Days: 21 weeks/April 10 Baby is the size of: bottle of siracha Team blue/pink/green: blue! Upcoming Appointments: 12/20 for 24 week check up How are you feeling?: Pregnancy-wise, pretty good. The baby moves a ton. General anxiet-wise, ok. Some times worse than others. Rants/Raves: we traded in our car this weekend which was super stressful but I’m sooo glad to have a new vehicle. It has AWD which will be nice in the snow and will fit two car seats a bit better than my little Jetta.
If anyone ever has any good GTKY questions, suggestions are always welcome. I don’t always have the mental bandwidth to come up with one.
@iiirene yay for new car! I’m in NC so we don’t get a ton of winter weather but I went to school in the mountains where it snowed a ton and AWD is key!!
Maybe for December a GTKY could be around holiday traditions you’re doing with your kids/family? Or favorite way to unwind?
@iiirene woohoo for a new car! Glad you found something that works for your family!

Team blue/pink/green: pink
Upcoming Appointments: 12/19 for regular check up
How are you feeling?: mostly pretty good. I ate something yesterday that didn't agree with me, and it sent me down an anxiety spiral of what ifs and concern for how it might effect baby girl at like 1am. 🤦♀️ On a positive note, it seems to have been short lived and, other than being sleep deprived, I'm feeling fine this morning.
Rants/Raves: I picked up some cute clothes, and baby stuff on sale over the weekend.
@iiirene congrats on the new car! What did you end up getting?
@trubaby411 sorry about the anxiety and eating something that didn't agree with you. Glad you are feeling better now.
FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM EDD/Weeks+Days: 22 weeks tomorrow Baby is the size of: No clue Team blue/pink/green: green Upcoming Appointments: right now! At my regular ob appointment. Wednesday is my 2nd anatomy scan to recheck baby's heart. How are you feeling?: pretty good, just heartburn and back/hip pain. Finally feeling baby moving more consistently which helps with anxiety. Rants/Raves: Thanksgiving was meh. We went to our neighbors but they didn't start until 5pm, so the kids were cranky and done by like 6:30. Also, we brought THREE TRAYS of green beans casserole, and only 1/3 of one was eaten....and they didn't let us take any home which I thought was weird/rude. We did Saturday Thanksgiving with my family which was great.
Baby is the size of: a mango, her foot is the size of a pop can tab
Team blue/pink/green: Pink
Upcoming Appointments: I have my anatomy scan one week from today!
How are you feeling?: Physically I feel great! Equal parts excited and terrified for the anatomy scan.
Rants/Raves: With the world likely going into a fairly significant recession there is so much uncertainty around financial security, the political landscape is really sad, people are losing jobs, we are watching a war happen overseas... Just ugh with the world right now. But we had a lovely Thanksgiving, our family is healthy, and we keep finding the little things to be grateful for.
@trubaby411 Glad you're feeling better! It's so easy to go down an unhealthy mental rabbit hole when something like that happens.
@scaredunprepared Omg, what? You brought food and they kept all of the leftovers? Like... WTF?
@enw1028 I like the idea of traditions for December GTKY! I would make it non-kid specific since we have a few FTMs here.
@iiirene congrats on the new set of wheels! I hope it's everything you've been missing.
@beaniebaking I too find it hard not to be sad for all that's happening in the world, that is beyond our individual control. Glad that you found a good distraction in the Thanksgiving holiday.

EDD/Weeks+Days: 22+1 / April 2
Baby is the size of: whatever
Team blue/pink/green: Team secret
Upcoming Appointments: Dec 9 for my 24 week check-up!
How are you feeling?: Argh, sleep is rough these days. I've started having issues falling asleep now on top of waking up in the middle of the night. So that's all fun. On top of that, I'm having incredible hip pain during the night / when I wake up, so I've had to ask my yoga instructor for additional help in how to deal with that. She's suggested a few exercise pre-bed, and also making sure there's something between the entire length of my lower leg, not just my knees. So, I'm trying that plus also added a mattress pad to our mattress to see if that helps things. Stay tuned!
Rants/Raves: I've been really struggling with what I think can easily end up as resentment towards my husband because of everything that I, as the birthing partner, have to do both in anticipation of a baby and then post. So, I engaged in a conversation with him about it last night, and the reality is that I'm resentful because there's not a lot he can do, and I know it. Like, for e.g., I asked him to look into private cord blood banking just to get him involved even though I'm interested in doing the research myself, and also because I have all the tools to do that quickly. So, asking him "just to get him involved" seems counterproductive.
On a positive side, we "gamed out" the possibilities of me being off with the kiddo for 6 months, which would mean I take 2.5 months of unpaid leave. There's a risk that H might be out of a job at some point in the future, so I was feeling like this wouldn't be sustainable. However, we discussed it, and feel comfortable that we could support ourselves for 2.5 months on our savings if that were to happen, so I am much more comfortable with asking for that time off. But who even knows... maybe I'll be one of those moms that wants to go back to work after 4 months of being home. I have no idea, but having options is great.
I'm also feeling the baby much more regularly (every day) and last night the babe was kicking and my husband was able to feel the kicks as well! I didn't think it would be possible so early with my anterior placenta.

@acleverusername fingers crossed you get some relief from the hip pain soon! Other than that, congestion like woah! And sleep is awful some nights and amazing others. Rants/Raves: I haven't been a fan of the holidays with family for a long time and I was reminded of another reason why at Thanksgiving. Long story short, my grandmother is a total hypocrite and was in a sour mood that made me want to leave 5 mins after we arrived (took 90 mins to get there).
@returning_bump_member we're basically twins, lol. Re: congestion... is it the rhinitis? I have a lot of gunk in my nose when I wake up in the mornings. Some nights I give in and give myself a spritz of Dristan because I just can't. Which support band did you get? I got one from Baby Bub (along with my pregnancy pillow) and I have been unimpressed with their Large size. Should have known given their models appear to be size 00. Oh and re: family members like that... gah, basically the way I feel every time I'd go visit my parents (but I no longer talk to them because how negatively they affected my mental health.)

Team blue/pink/green: blue 💙
Upcoming Appointments: December 22 which seems so far away!
How are you feeling?: just okay. I typically have a lot of anxiety, but it seems to have decreased quite a bit since finding out I've been pregnant. Not sure if it's because my hormones aren't fluctuating so much or what. However, this week was really hard with my anxiety. I am still not feeling the baby which is causing me so much anxiety and then work, moving, home renovations, grad school and everything just piles on. Hopefully I get back to feeling more relaxed soon.
Rants/Raves: my husband and I own a two flat and we are doing some major construction on our main floor (where we've lived for 5 years), so we moved upstairs into our rental unit while the work is being done. My husband has moved everything and continues to just be the best support I could imagine. So grateful for him!
Some ideas for gtky (sorry if they've already been done and I missed them): favorite concert or show you've ever been to, your spirit animal, horoscope sign/ennegram/other personality tests you subscribe to with your type lol
Upcoming Appointments: Anatomy scan next week! Nervous and excited!
How are you feeling?: Okay! Mostly just tired all the time.
@mcmanda4321 - I haven’t felt baby either, which I know is normal, but definitely causes some anxiety.
Rants/Raves: @allykat92 - I agree! My best friend just had her baby and my other best friend is 6 weeks behind me. It’s so fun to have people to ask the stupid questions to and bond over something so exciting!
Upcoming Appointments: 12/12 for my follow-up anatomy scan. I’m crossing my fingers that the baby will be more willing to un-pretzel herself this time so that they can get better views of a few things.
How are you feeling?: Like most of you, sleep is beginning to be a real struggle. I can’t get comfortable. I’m waking up at least 3 times a night. The Baby Bub pillow that we ordered is still not here, so Im just making do in the mean time with spare pillows from the guest room. Honestly, I think I need an entire bed to myself.
Rants/Raves: I’m finally feeling the baby move more consistently!! I started getting really soft kicks last week and now they are getting more noticeable. I don’t feel a ton of movement during the day, but she’s definitely active in the evenings after I eat. I’m also thinking about making my stroller purchase tonight. We’ve been eyeing the UPPAbaby Vista V2, and it’s 20% off on Strolleria!
@acleverusername Twinning again, lol! So much gunk in the mornings, then typically tapers off by noon. I, too, sometimes use a saline nasal spray if I'm really bothered by it. I bought this support band off Amazon: https://a.co/evp50Qa It runs small, but I love the support and that it's one piece. Family can be the worst, mental health always comes first!

I think I've been more anxious and moody lately. Rants/Raves: My husband hasn't had consistent work since the pandemic started. It's been very tough on us financially, especially since I took an unpaid maternity leave in the midst of that time. Anyway, he has a very promising job lead, and is in the middle of a long interview process. If he gets this job, it could be so good for our whole family. But I'm trying not to bank on it too much. We've been let down so many times over the past 2.5 years. I'm just ready for the roller coaster to end!
@shoogapoff I hope your hubby lands the job! I can totally relate to how you must feel, my husband works for a small family owned business and pretty much every few weeks there's questions if whether they'll get paid or how long they'll have a job since it's slowed down so much since 2020. I'm hoping it'll last atleast through April for the insurance at least. Job insecurity really is such a hard thing to struggle through. I hope something comes along for you and your family!

How are you feeling?: anxious like 24/7. I really haven't felt any kicks yet which i figured I would by now since I felt them at like 16 weeks with my first.. no reason to really believe anything is wrong since everything has been fine at my check ups so far but I haven't had an ultrasound since 9 weeks. Basically I'm trying to keep myself from going crazy and just anxiously waiting for Saturday morning at this point and praying everyday that all is okay.
Rants/Raves: no rants, I finally got caught up on work to the point that I have been able to actually take some time off and just enjoyed a nice long 5 day weekend over the holiday! Even for a staycation it was very refreshing given that the last time i took time off work was when my daughter was born 2 years ago and the last actual vacation I took was 2 years before that. FTM/STM/TTM+: STM EDD/Weeks+Days: 4/5, 22 weeks tomorrow Baby is the size of: Team blue/pink/green: pink Upcoming Appointments: mid December How are you feeling?: mentally good, physically okay. Still nauseous occasionally. Rants/Raves: My dad has been here for a week, we spent the last week at the ILs and are back home now. They only live 1.5 hours away but their house is way bigger so it’s nicer to stay there when we have family visiting. I’ve been in 100% vacation mode and it’s so nice. Still off work until Friday!
@ladyofarlington lol I forget my own sign most of the time, no way I’ll keep track of whatever my kids are supposed to be. I’m always shocked when people actually put any weight behind that nonsense.
@maggied26 you’re giving me heart palpitations, I haven’t even started holiday shopping yet!
@shoogapoff good luck to your H! That sounds so stressful, I hope he gets the job!

Team blue/pink/green: excited to finally share here since we shared with family/friends - GIRL 💕
Upcoming Appointments: 12/20 - heartbeat check How are you feeling?: Good! definitely feel larger this time around 😅
Rants/Raves: rant: I feel like pregnancy makes my stomach so sensitive to certain things. I was up from 1-4 last night with the worst stomach pains (so bad that my back hurt!) because my stomach didn’t agree with something I ate 🙃 was sooo tired all day from it.
rave: I’ve been feeling baby for a few weeks now but it’s gotten stronger over the last week. She moves up a storm all throughout the day! My husband finally felt her this weekend which is always so fun! 🥰
@ladyofarlington I’m an April baby and I take offense to what they told you 🤣 also hate how unhelpful those types of comments are. It’s like howwww would you like me to respond to that?!
@enw1028 yayyy for a girl! And yeah, my husband is an April baby too and he’s the easiest person to get along with ever. I guess I didn’t know him as a baby though lol.
DS born 2/18/2019 DD born 4/1/2023 Baby #3 EDD 11/21/2024
@shoogapoff that sounds so stressful, I'm sorry. Fingers crossed this job is the one for your husband!!!
@v_flowers I hope your follow up AS goes well and baby is more cooperative.
@begb9 wow that's so fun having your friends with babies the same age as yours. Definitely something extra special to bond over.
@maggied26 I only just started feeling kicks and this is my 3rd baby! Don't stress about it too much. Glad you enjoyed your stay cation. I am jealous your shopping is done, I feel like I have so much left to do!
@arelianrae sorry you are in such a tough position with losing insurance. I hope your appointment eases your mind.
@beaniebaking yeah the world is in rough shape at the moment. I am trying to do what you are doing and finding moments and things every day to be grateful for/ look forward to. It's not easy.
@acleverusername and @nsk489 yeah the weirdest part was they brought back our Pyrex dishes the next morning... empty. Where did all that food go??? I wasn't going to ask for the food back because i figured that would be rude, but I thought it was all so strange.
@acleverusername the hip pain and resentment are REAL. Might be time for me to break out the pregnancy pillow. I didn't need it last pregnancy (because I had to sleep sitting up!), but looks like this time I might just need that bad boy. As for resentment toward my hubby, I try to remind myself it's not HIS fault he can't do any of this pregnancy/ nursing stuff. It's biology (and my choice to get pregnant/ have kids), and while it's not really fair, we can't do much about it except expect and accept all their help once baby comes (daddy diaper duty, burping, helping make sure mama is fed and hydrated, etc.) My husband is never more helpful or useful than those first few weeks postpartum 😆
@nsk489 I had such a bad headache yesterday too, ended up taking magnesium and extra strength Tylenol and going to bed at 9! I cannot believe you have FOURTEEN nieces and nephews! I though 3 (plus 4 little cousins that are like bonus nieces/nephews) was a lot!
@ladyofarlington I have so many friends that are April babies and while we are strong-willed, we just process things differently.
My husband, sister-in-law, and mom are all Aries and I am on the cusp of Aries/Taurus (called the cusp of power💪). My mom said I was "particular" about certain things, and definitely still am!
@returning_bump_member I have never heard of it being called the cusp of power! I was born 4/20 (so Taurus) and baby's EDD is 4/19 (Aries) so I guess that would be the cusp of power? I'm not huge on astrology but I definitely have certain Taurus characteristics (ie very stubborn lol)
@nsk489 I have the same birthday! I looked it up since I never truly knew my sign and it all made sense! The cusp of power is April 16/17 to 22/23 so definitely. My mom's bday is 4/17 and she has more Aries traits and I have more Taurus ones.
I now understand why my dad always left the house when she and I would butt heads, lol!

How are you feeling?: Pregnancy-wise, pretty good.

@trubaby411 sorry about the anxiety and eating something that didn't agree with you. Glad you are feeling better now.

Upcoming Appointments: right now!

And resentment towards your partner during pregnancy/postpartum is fairly common, glad you took some steps to have him be more involved.

Baby is the size of: A banana?
Team blue/pink/green:Pink!
I bought this support band off Amazon: https://a.co/evp50Qa
It runs small, but I love the support and that it's one piece.

How are you feeling?: Physically I feel okay.

Also excited to be almost done with Christmas shopping!

@ladyofarlington lol. H is an Aries, SMIL is an Aries, late MIL was an Aries... they're all around me! They're a fine bunch once you figure how they work.

How are you feeling?: mentally good, physically okay.
@arelianrae I hope your next appt goes well!
DD born 4/1/2023

Rants/Raves:
rant: I feel like pregnancy makes my stomach so sensitive to certain things. I was up from 1-4 last night with the worst stomach pains (so bad that my back hurt!) because my stomach didn’t agree with something I ate 🙃 was sooo tired all day from it.
DD born 4/1/2023
Baby #3 EDD 11/21/2024
My husband, sister-in-law, and mom are all Aries and I am on the cusp of Aries/Taurus (called the cusp of power💪). My mom said I was "particular" about certain things, and definitely still am!
I now understand why my dad always left the house when she and I would butt heads, lol!
