Rants/Raves: rant: My grandma has covid and will miss Thanksgiving, raves: it's a short week with lots of family time, and we finally bought furniture to put together our preschooler's new room
Questions: Has anyone taken an online birth prep class that focused on pushing techniques etc?
GTKY: What movie do you wish you could live in and why? One of the Harry Potters but one with less Voldemort, because magic and flying and the type of time travel that doesn't occur in real life. (Or anything that takes place in Hawaii)
Baby is the size of a(n): Bunch of asparagus and his footprint is the size of a Swedish Fish (which are my most favourite candy but I can't seem to find them anymore )
Team blue/pink/green: Blue
Upcoming Appointments: Regular check-up on Nov 30
How are you feeling?: Not awful since I think baby has dropped so my breathing is better. My pelvis is almost always sore in one way or another but breathing better is a total bonus.
Rants/Raves: My son is sick and home from school today. I feel for him but I'm also annoyed that there's a chance I could get sick now. I was super sick back in September and it was awful not being able to take anything for it.
Questions: What do hiccups feel like? I've been getting little patterns of movement down low that I never had with my son. Maybe that's what it is?
GTKY: What movie do you wish you could live in and why? This is a tough one, I'm not sure. Probably something totally ordinary though. Lol.
@willrunforcookies I have not taken a course like that and am 99% sure I'll be going the planned csection route but I am taking a csection prep course by Mommy Labor Nurse that I'm liking so far. She also has a course on natural birth and an epidural series. This is her site https://mommylabornurse.com/biu-natural/ and she's on Instagram as mommy.labornurse .
Upcoming Appointments: Today checkup, Dec 2 sizing ultrasound
How are you feeling?: Worn out. I’ve been taking an extra iron supplement; I tend towards anemic even not pregnant, so no surprise my levels were low last lab. But still feeling a lil run down in general.
Rants/Raves: My husband is officially on winter schedule which means more time at home. It’s only the first week but he’s wasted no time helping extra around the house & going to Costco for me. I assure him I can handle things and he just says “yeah well I can’t make a baby” 😅
Questions: This is a silly one…I historically do not like pedicures or other people touching my feet, but I also am starting to have trouble reaching my toes. Anyone a pedi regular? Is it fine while pregnant?
GTKY: What movie do you wish you could live in and why? Like @willrunforcookies probably something like Harry Potter. Magic and fantasy, but also modern plumbing and hygiene 😅
@willrunforcookies I haven’t done any yet, but I signed up for several classes offered through my hospital. They have a breastfeeding class, an infant care, and a birthing class. I’ve only taken the third trimester seminar so far but it was helpful.
@cc_clark Pedicures are totally fine while pregnant! I believe there's a reflexology point behind the ankle bones that are linked to the uterus so they will likely avoid that area while doing the massage portion. My issue with them is having to sit in the chair for so long. I got one a couple of months ago and was already having a hard time with it (even with standing up a couple of times throughout) so I'm thinking it may be really uncomfortable for me at this point. Which is sad, I love pedicures so, so much and am also having issues reaching my toes.
@tifdaski84 thanks, I'll look into what she offers! Hiccups feel like a rhythmic beat every second or two in the same spot.
@cc_clark yup, no issues with pedicures, I rarely get them but third tri is the right time! I got one at 40 weeks with my first and they still avoided the reflexology point (to my huge disappointment haha).
EDD / Weeks + Days: Was 1/5/23.... Now 12/25/22. So we'll see! 34w2d
Baby is the size of a(n): pineapple
Team blue/pink/green: pink
Upcoming Appointments: 12/8
How are you feeling?: I've been sick for 5 weeks so I'm feeling personally miserable. Baby is ok. Kicking and moving well.
Rants/Raves: I get such small bursts of energy and want to do stuff but then can't seem to finish. Carpal tunnel in both wrists don't help with any of it either.
Questions: Anyone else keeping the gender a secret? How are you handling the pressure?
GTKY: What movie do you wish you could live in and why? Wreck It Ralph.... There's so many different characters and themes
- Been quite some time since I posted. I got a promotion in September and have been working 12 hour days in addition to all the baby stuff. It's been busy. - Baby has had 3 echocardiograms since I had heart surgery as a baby myself. Everything is looking normal though she's measuring 10 days ahead moving our date to Christmas. - Took a variety of classes and we're feeling pretty prepared. Now if only I could feel better! - Another question for everyone: we can play music in our L&D room. What songs would you put on a delivery playlist?
@greenbean88 my L&D playlist(s) consisted of moods haha I had one to be all nostalgic and emotional, one to be calm, and one to bear down and grit through! All three came in handy! I used the more emotional one at the beginning like with my wedding songs etc to get myself in a good headspace, then used my calming music during my transitional phase and finally my grit music (literal AC/DC cuz that’s what I like to workout to) during my pushing phase which really helped me because I felt like I was running a damn marathon haha
@tifdaski84 Oh I'm so sad you don't have any Swedish Fish! They are great. I get hiccups somewhat regularly. If baby is head down, you'll probably feel little spasms down low in a constant rhythm like @willrunforcookies says.
@greenbean88 if you don't mind my asking, why did your die date get moved up? Personally I think a Christmas DD is kinda cool! Also i agree with @thankfullyamama - it's probably a good idea to have multiple types of music ready to go.
EDD / Weeks + Days: 1-14, 33+1
Baby is the size of a(n): medium large
Team blue/pink/green: Green
Upcoming Appointments: Next week telehealth for 34w. I also scheduled my 36wk appt for the week before Christmas. Sh**ts getting real, folks. I think it will be weekly appts after that (if I make it that long!)
How are you feeling?: uncomfortable. Baby kicks, which used to be so magical, can be quite irritating and disruptive. I know I shouldn't complain that baby seems to be thriving in there, but I could complain about a whole host of things rn. 😅
Rants/Raves: Happy Belated Thanksgiving! It's one of my favorite holidays but I was mostly feeling lots of anxiety from travel and DS being sick 😫 poor guy. He's a little better now but it's been a hard week for him. I'll probably get whatever he had too, so that's something to look forward to. I'm glad Christmas season is here though!
Questions:Anybody still not 100% on names? We have a girl's one but not totally there on a boy's one even though I have a clear favorite. DH isn't quite as on board as he should be...
GTKY: What movie do you wish you could live in and why? Ooh def Harry Potter. 👌
@jennifer_louise we got moved up because she was measuring bigger in weight and length! But who knows what will really happen lol. I'm right there with you on the uncomfortable bit.
@jennifer_louise still no name! We ask each other daily, and now H just nixed one that I thought was top two and brought back a runner-up from our first.
@greenbean88 congrats on the promotion! The echos must be stressful, but glad all is looking good.
