Fainted yesterday-13weeks pregnant-help

Let me start by saying I am 13weeks pregnant, baby #3 and I have a hemorrhage that was 1.5cm at 7weeks pregnant, and is now 5cm. I am high risk, and hoping for advice on some things I’ve been going through.

So yesterday (thanksgiving) I was in the kitchen preparing for thanksgiving dinner when suddenly I felt very dizzy and my legs got weak. I sat down and told my husband, “I think I’m going to pass out”. My husband says that right after I said that, my body went limp and then started shaking/convulsing. He laid me on the floor, on my side, next to the chair, and began calling my name. I remember (I guess as I was coming too) feeling my legs shaking. They stopped, and then I could very faintly hear my husband calling my name. Everything was foggy, and it took about 5-10 minutes before I could hear/see clearly.. and still it was a bit foggy. My husband picked me up, put me in the bed and put cold towels on me. I was completely over heated at this point, and he could feel it. After about 30 minutes or so, I felt better, and was able to get up, but for the rest of the day, I just left completely drained.
My OB was closed yesterday and today due to the holiday, so I couldn’t call them. My sister says I should go to the ER today, but I feel normal (for 13weeks pregnant with a hemorrhage) . I’m not going to lie, it scared the crap out of me. Between the hemorrhage causing spotting and sometimes full on bleeding, and now this, I’m just really worried about this pregnancy.
What should I do? Go to ER? Wait until Monday when my OB is open? And if anyone has gone through this before, I’d love any advice or guidance you may have to give.

Thanks!

  • My OB office has a doctor on call 24/7 for emergencies, which I only discovered when I called one weekend when I came down with COVID. Have you tried calling your OB office just to see if there might be someone on call?

If there isn't an on call doctor, what about going to an urgent care?

  • Thanks for the reply. I just called back and listed to all the prompts. There was a prompt at the end for the on call physician. I was only able to leave a voicemail but the recording said someone should call me back within the hour. Thanks so much. Hopefully someone calls back soon.
  • That is an immediate ER visit! Convulsions? Um yeah not anything I would be messing around with!
  • That sounds like a seizure, not just fainting. If you've never had a seizure before, that's an immediate ER visit. Frankly, this isn't just about this pregnancy, but your life. Please get checked out ASAP. Often with seizures they won't tell you anything in the ER and you'll need a follow up with a neurologist, but the ER can order a brain scan and check for things like hemorrhaging on your brain or dangerous blood pressure.
  • I talked to the on call nurse practitioner last night and she said that dizziness and even fainting wasn’t uncommon in the first trimester. She said that because she wasn’t there she couldn’t tell me much about the shaking/convulsions but that if it happens again I should go to ER, and that they would also refer me to a neurologist. I went to urgent care to get checked out anyway. My blood pressure has been dropping, but other than the subchorionic hemorrhage (still 5 cm) and blood pressure being a bit low, they said everything seemed fine. This has been so scary. At 10 weeks I started bleeding so bad I thought I was having a miscarriage but when I went to the hospital they said I was bleeding that bad from the hemorrhage but bay was fine… now this.
