S+TMs: What swing or bouncer did you use in the past?: We have a Mamaroo and a Fisher Price bouncer Likes/dislikes?: My son really liked the Mamaroo but we had to do a lot of adjusting the speed and motion depending on his mood and as he grew. He took lots of naps in that thing while I taught online and my husband worked back in the 2020 craziness. We actually didn’t use the bouncer all that much. I liked that it was cheap, lightweight, and portable. Cost?: Mamaroo was about $200, the bouncer was $30 Did you use any play mats or play gyms?: We had a cute wooden play gym on our registry, and were gifted two hand me down obnoxiously loud play mats which my son loved. Likes/dislikes?:the wooden play gym is adorable, kept my sons attention for the most part when he was an infant, and folded up really small which was nice because we lived in a one bedroom apartment t until he was 4 months old. We now use it as a little clothing rack in his bedroom so he can choose a shirt and jacket for the day. We will probably turn it back into a play gym for the baby because his shirts are getting long and dragging in the floor. The other two, while not my aesthetic, were well loved by my son. His favorite I think is the Fisher Price kick piano play gym. He loved that think. The songs were constantly stuck in my head. I thought it seemed a bit overstimulating but he was so happy there so oh well.
What swing or bouncer did you use in the past?: We have a Mamaroo and a Fisher Price bouncer/vibrating seat. We had a swing for my daughter which she loved but it broke. Definitely considering another swing this time.
Likes/dislikes?: My son hated the mamaroo and the bouncer! He only tolerated each for maybe 10 min before throwing a fit. I could throw him in the bouncer in the bathroom while I showered but that was about it.
Cost?: got both from my buy nothing group.
Did you use any play mats or play gyms?: my son preferred the playmat to the other contractions. It was an under the sea theme but bars that could have toys attached for him to look at. Definitely getting another play mat this time.
Likes/dislikes?: the playmat was by far a favorite. All babies are so different though, so I guess we will wait and see if this baby like these contraptions before getting another.
S+TMs: What swing or bouncer did you use in the past?: I think the swing was Fisher Price? It was big and white with an insert with dog ears I think.
Likes/dislikes?: loved it. Baby calmed down and fell asleep in it easily for naps, we probably relied on it a little too much.
Cost?: no idea, got it for free from a friend, we gave it to another friend who had a baby a year after us. They actually kept it, so we’re getting it back!
Did you use any play mats or play gyms?: Likes/dislikes?: we used a play mat, but my son was completely indifferent to it. This was one of those things we had because I felt like we had to, but honestly we used a blanket and random toys more often. It was cute though, and we’ll get it back from before mentioned friends (they got all of our big gear and are giving it all back). Maybe little sister will like it!
Play mats are cheap and easy to come by so it’s not a huge deal if baby doesn’t like it, if you want one, get one.

@iiirene my son had a jumperoo when he was able to sit up and oh my god. The songs. My husband and I still hum them out loud three years later. But yeah they weren’t as annoying as I thought they would be! Mostly it’s just funny now.
