WTO and TWW- Week of 11/14

The WTO and TWW threads are temporarily combined until we rebuild a large enough community to merit their separation. In the meantime, please use this as a space to chat about the day-to-day, commiserate about the challenges and laugh about the comedies of TTC, and to keep track of your own shifting feelings about this process. Please be aware that this community does not do symptom spotting (studies, as well as our own collective experience here, have repeatedly shown that the only meaningful symptom of pregnancy is a positive HPT). We also try to keep this thread a safe space for all regardless of where they are in their TTC, so please be mindful about references to past success, as well as of losses. Where necessary to the conversation, we encourage a TW and to use a spoiler.

    CD (/DPO if applicable): CD18/ 4 or 5DPO

    What's coming up? (FW, testing, etc.): Waiting... Going to try to hold out on testing as long as possible. My chart was weird, so I'm not even sure what day I O'd

    R/R: As I mentioned in randoms, it was my birthday this weekend. I had such a good time with my nieces and it really helped me be grateful. My husband has also been struggling a little lately, so I'm focusing on being strong for him because he was so strong for me when I struggle. I have to keep busy to get through this TWW.

    Month/Cycle: 21 months

    CD (/DPO if applicable): 8DPO

    What's coming up? (FW, testing, etc.): will be testing on Friday! Using progesterone so want to know when to stop. 

    R/R: I had a nice weekend! My mom and I road-tripped 4 hours away to visit her sister/my aunt. It was such a nice girls weekend/getaway. 

    CS/Q: nope

    Me: 36 H: 40 Married 2015. Together since 2010.
    TTC: Sept 2016-Oct 2017
    BFP Oct 2017. DD born July 2018.
    TTC: March 2020. BFP March 2020
    Due date was Nov 2020
    DS born Sept 2020. DS passed away Nov 2020 due to prematurity and birth trauma.
    TTC: March 2021
    IUI #1 Nov 2021, BFN
    IUI #2 Dec 2021 BFP.  MC Jan 2022
    IUI #3 Aug 2022 BFN
    IUI #4 Sept 2022 BFN
    AMH test came back at .081. Was going to move on to IVF with DE, but have decided not to. Will be leaving it up to the universe now.

    @bearmomma1 Sounds like a fun trip!

    Month/Cycle: started trying 16 months ago, but this is the second cycle back TTC after a long break

    CD (/DPO if applicable): CD20, 8DPO

    What's coming up? (FW, testing, etc.): I am planning on testing but I’m not sure exactly when. I have no chill and cheap tests so who knows how long I can last.

    R/R: It’s been a while since we have been trying and I forgot how hard the wait is. I am symptom spotting and driving myself crazy. TTGP turns me into a crazy person. 

    CS/Q: Does your husband know when you are testing? My husband wants to be included, but I’ve never done that before. I like to face the disappointment on my own. I never even tell him when I’m ovulating, and I don’t exactly know how to have him be a part of it. Any suggestions?

    @maggiemadeit I usually tell him I'm testing on a certain day, and then usually test the day before or something just to give myself advanced notice. Like I've told him I'm testing this Friday, but I usually cave before then!

    @maggiemadeit I'm crossing my fingers that you get your BFP. I only tell my husband at 12 DPO or later. I don't tell him about the early testing, because he's not a big fan. I usually give away that I am ovulating because I get creative in getting him to BD since we don't usually BD that often. He's chill about the whole thing and really only wants to know when it is a blazing positive. 

    I would tell him your testing if he wants to be involved. It might be nice to have the support! Good luck!

    Just hanging out at 5/6 DPO impatiently. This morning, I thought to myself, gee these last few days went fast, and here we are a year later lol

    @maggiemadeit My husband wants to be included as well. We talk about when it makes sense to test and he knows all about my LH/BBT graphs. I honestly think it helps having him be a part of all of it because we go through everything together.

    Month/Cycle: Month 11, Cycle 7

    CD (/DPO if applicable): CD 21

    What's coming up? (FW, testing, etc.): OPK 2x daily and trying to track BBT. Hoping Thanksgiving will distract me during my TWW.

    R/R: Hosting Thanksgiving this year and lots of family member have had babies in the past year/2 years…wish me luck handling all if the, “When is it your turn?” questions.

    CS/Q: Is anyone else having trouble posting from a computer? It just brings me back to The Bump’s main page. I had to post on my phone.

    @dmcgrew17 Yes! I am getting the exact same thing, but it works fine on my phone browser. So weird.

    @bearmomma1 @sunshine134 @dmcgrew17 Thanks for your input! I’m loving that you all have involved partners! I like the idea of pre testing on my own though. This question is so stupid, but do you let him know you are testing and then wait the 5 minutes together? Like does he look at the pee stick with you?

    @maggiemadeit Yes, he does wait with me. The very first time I took a pregnancy test I did it myself and then brought it down to show him. He was actually upset that he didn’t get to wait with me, so we’ve done all other ones together since. I’d talk to your husband and see how involved he really wants to be.

    8 DPO today... I know early testing is not a good idea, but I really had to talk myself out of it this morning. Do you guys do early testing? If so, what DPO?

    @sunshine134 I used to be an early tester, until I ran out of the little strips and just stopped buying them. Now I just wait until 12 DPO since I’ve figured that’s the last day I’d get a true negative and then stop progesterone. I almost caved today at 11 DPO but I really had to pee when I woke up and didn’t want to mess around with getting the stick!

    @sunshine134 I am an early tester but I wish I wasn’t. It’s either negative and I feel defeated even though I know it’s too early, or I have line eyes and think we’ve done it when we haven’t. But I too have the cheap sticks from Amazon and can’t resist. I will probably test tomorrow morning (should be 11dpo) but only so I know if a Friday glass of wine is in my future. Kind of feel like waiting for AF this month, but maybe it’s just the extra pressure of my husband wanting to be part of it?

    TW in this whole post. 

    I feel at peace for the first time in a week. I had a good call with my endocrinologist yesterday and she agreed that we could try the levothyroxine to keep my tsh down. And then my doctor gave me a referral to a gynecologist that will do the testing I need/want, including for progesterone and will prescribe anything I need. So hopefully this is what is needed to help prevent another loss. 🤞🏽

    @sunshine134 @bearmomma1 Sorry it wasn’t better news today. Negative for me too. I still have another day or two until AF is due, but not feeling overly optimistic.
