Re: Product Spotlight: Bath Time
What tubs do you like? Honestly, I'm not sure. The padded "sink flower" was great for when DD was tiny, but once she got too big for the sink but couldn't sit up on her own, bathtime was a chore because she always tried to roll out of her bath lounger. I've seen what looks like bumbo seats that go in the tub: has anyone tried those?
Any extras that are useful - towels, washcloths, toys, etc? I'm of the unpopular opinion that I think baby wash cloths are a good investment. All of the standard washcloths I had were too thick or scratchy. I greatly prefer cotton bath towels over microfiber because hair and dust sticks to microfiber. Hooded towels are adorable and keep the baby warm!
What bath soap do you use? I ended up with EIGHT baby bath soap sets after my baby shower with DD. (I still have one bottle I haven't opened yet!) The brands we received were Aveeno, Johnson & Johnson, and Baby doTerra, and all of them were great on DD's skin. Just be sure to use lotion after each bath, especially in winter time. Poor DD had dry patches all over her back and we had no idea why she was so cranky until we flipped her over.
And a tip: when bathing baby, wash their hair last. Poor DD cried the whole time during her first at-home bath because we started with her hair and her head got cold!
