Baby/Maternity Steals & Deals

With Amazon Prime sales starting and Black Friday just around the corner (and @acleverusername's awesome deal on a stroller!), I figured I'd start a thread for everyone to post any good baby/maternity sales they come across! Feel free to post any good tips for finding good deals, coupon codes, etc

Re: Baby/Maternity Steals & Deals

  • I just got a great deal on a new in box bassinet on https://www.unclaimedbaggage.com/
You'd be surprised at some of the stuff you can get on that website!

Also last year when I was stroller shopping and EVERYTHING was backordered for months, I was able to get the stroller that I wanted for a discount on https://goodbuygear.com/. It was brand new, cheaper than what I would have paid normally, and the best part was it wasn't backordered 6 months

  • Great thread idea @etnyah!!!

Oooh @nsk489, gonna have to check those 2 sites out! I have to say though…I’m SUPER excited for Black Friday this year!!!

  • There are some fantastic car seat deals on Amazon right now. Like $100 off.
  • I'm not a big fan of pregnancy pillows but if you're looking for one this seems to be a good deal Momcozy Pregnancy Pillows, U Shaped Full Body Maternity Pillow with Removable Cover - Support for Back, Legs, Belly, Hips for Pregnant Women, 57 Inch Pregnancy Pillows for Sleeping, Grey https://a.co/aEpDywx
I checked the price on camelcamelcamel and it does indeed seem to be a discount (even though it's not normally priced at 60 bucks)
  • FYI - a bit of a late notice, but I just discovered this last night. Bloomingdale's is having a sale where they grant you a gift card, based on $ spent. So, I ended up buying our light weight stroller (Nuna Trvl), and got a $125 gc. I also (separately) bought the carry-bag, and got another $20 gc. Note: if I had purchased them together, the max gc amount was $125 so try a few configurations!

Ultimately, I ended paying $405 for a stroller that's available second hand anywhere between $350-400, so I think this was a pretty great deal. Just need to use up those gc's between Nov 14-20.

  • A little early for things like this but if anyone is looking for an activity center, this is a good deal on Amazon right now (I have this exact one). There's a $35 clickable coupon which makes it cheaper than if you were using a 20% registry discount.

  • Forgot about this thread! Primary (my favorite kids clothing store) is having a 40% off everything sale which I’ve never seen them do before, usually it’s 30%. If you’ve never bought from them before you can combine that with the 20% welcome discount, which makes good quality clothing as cheap or (or cheaper than) Carter’s. The footless romper is my fave for babies.

  • Oh! Also, Zutano sale! Zutano has the best baby booties, literally the only ones we tried that didn’t fall off. 30% off booties and they have a few already marked down, I got some fleece ones for $11 a pair and they’re usually $23.

  • @etnyah yesss zutano booties are THE BEST
  • @etnyah good to know that 40% off at Primary is a good deal! I got the notice and have been eyeing things.

Also, Zurakowski booties look incredibly adorable! However: are booties just for show? What is the practical use?

  • @acleverusername baby socks are annoying so booties are great for keeping their adorable little tootsies warm. Even though my son was born at the end of May we used them all the time!
  • @acleverusername yep, what @nsk489 said! I don’t like footed sleepers/pjs and those little toes get cold easily! I think they’re especially great for baby wearing, socks get kicked off easily and aren’t as warm.

  • @acleverusername I am going to dissent and say I didn't find booties or socks useful.  We did (and still do!) footie sleepers and LOVE them.  So much easier than messing with socks or booties for me!  Even our almost 4 year old still uses and loves footie pjs!
  • @acleverusername I loved zutanos for when my son was crawling and just beginning to walk to send him to daycare in. I didn’t buy him any real shoes until he was like a year and a half and the weather started to get cold so he needed some warm and more waterproof shoes to go outside in. I rarely used them before he was maybe 8 months old though.
  • @scaredunprepared footie pjs bunch up on the toes when baby wearing though! And if you have a leggy kid like mine, they’re outgrown in two minutes. I actually ended up cutting the feet off some just so they could fit longer. IIRC @acleverusername mentioned both her and H being tall, so that could be an issue!

Of course, it’s not guaranteed I’ll have another baby with the same string bean build, but I found footie pjs to be an absolute pain.

  • I am team footie pjs but also use them only for sleep...so I'm that person who changes my baby into a different outfit for the day (especially if we are leaving the house). Lol so maybe that's part of why I found baby booties so useful. Agree with @etnyah about footies bunching up if you babywear
  • @nsk489 I p much only change baby clothes if they have spit up or a diaper leak, and my son would spit up about five thousand times a day so I gave up on differentiating between day and night clothes pretty soon. Next baby will live almost exclusively in footless pjs for the first couple clothing sizes, hopefully she won’t mind!

    Ditto!
  • Maybe I'm the only mom who leaves her kids in their pj's all day when they are little lol.   I baby wore both kids and never had issues with the footies riding up, but maybe because mine were both smallish?
  • @scaredunprepared you’re definitely not alone, I do the same! And I leave myself in pajamas all day long sometimes too lol.

I think the footie bunching was an issue for me because my son grew incredibly fast, he was born at 50th percentile for height and by 6 months old he was in the 90th, where he still is. He blew through several sizes. His weight did not increase at the same rate and he actually dropped weight percentiles, which is why the feet annoyed me! Those pjs would have fit for way longer without the feet. If he had stayed on a steady curve for both weight and height, maybe it wouldn’t have been such an issue.

  • @etnyah lol I'm definitely also guilty of staying in my pj's all day too when i can!!!  I could definitely see fast growing babies being an issue for footies.  That sounds like a pain in the butt!
  • @scaredunprepared, besides lip balm, what's good from Burt's Bees? Specifically looking for baby stuff obvi.

@acleverusername I liked their belly butter. Cute jammies/sleepers, we also used their sleep sacks (wearable blanket), towels and washcloths. They have pretty much all the baby essentials (in organic cotton, if that is important to you) which I never realized until I was pregnant for the first time!

@acleverusername we use their washcloths and sleep sacks. Their prints are always so cute
  • @acleverusername we LOVE almost all of the Burt’s Bees items we have. Great onesies, sleepers and sleepsacks. Have loved their PJs since newborn days and still wear them now. Also love the Mama Butter lotion and Oil!
  • @acleverusername what everyone else said!  They have the cutest sleepers and the baby wash is good too.

  • Caden Caden lane still has 20% off personalized items and swaddle blankets! And they give you a referral code after you buy something for $25 off $80. (I’ve just been checking out with multiple emails to keep getting the discount because when someone uses the code with a new email, they get 25 off 80 then the first email gets a code as well) You can use mine to start then get your own code. http://rwrd.io/9t5ngyh?c
  • Also, aerie ‘real me’ undies are THE BEST maternity underwear. They are the only underwear I comfortably wear now.
  • @peachyalex3 I will definitely be ordering some of those. I loathe all underwear right now
  • @iiirene I feel like they are similar to other underwear marketed as maternity because they stretch like 5x their size. But they’ve been in and off on sale, I even got them 10 pairs for $30 at one point!
