EDD / Weeks + Days: 10+3 / June 2 (but I'm not leaving May ... I'll just be the last woman standing)
Baby is the size of a:
    Team blue/pink/green: finding out soon!
Upcoming Appointments: Not for another 4 weeks. Feels like forever.
How are you feeling?: Pretty good! I was so nauseous last week and thought it was pregnancy related, but now I'm thinking it was just a GI bug that ran through our family.
Rants/Raves: I'm starting to tell more people about the pregnancy, even though it's early. We always tell people early (our loss taught us that we need the support more if things go wrong), and it feels good to be telling people and see their excitement.
Questions: was anyone else told to take aspirin every day? My OB mentioned it at my last appointment and said they started recommending it during Covid, but I've never done that with my other pregnancies. I see it's supposed to help prevent clotting, but I'm anemic, so I'd kind of like to not prevent clotting even further? Idk man, it's all confusing.
GTKY: What is your favorite Thanksgiving food? I love the combination - that's my favorite part of thanksgiving. Like a bite with turkey, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes. AMAZING.
  • Hiii!!! This is my first time posting in this group!

    EDD / Weeks + Days: May 4/ 13w6d
Baby is the size of a: donut
Team blue/pink/green: just found out Saturday it's a boy!!! (crazy, I absolutely thought girl)
Upcoming Appointments: one week from Friday
How are you feeling?: feeling pretty good, a little round ligament pain
Rants/Raves: People have been asking about names (especially now that we know it's a boy) and then offering snide comments about every name we say.
Questions: if this isn't your first, when did your bump get really noticeable with your first?
GTKY: What is your favorite Thanksgiving food? MASHED POTATOES AND GRAVY! I make my husband get me this like once a week anyway. I also love stuffing!

    EDD / Weeks + Days: May 5/14w3d
Baby is the size of a: crayon
    Team blue/pink/green: finding out 12/22
    Upcoming Appointments: next Tuesday
How are you feeling?: So good! I have a fairly normal appetite again, I’m no longer exhausted, and I’m starting to really spread the news, so that’s been exciting :)
    Rants/Raves:
Rant: we spent hours raking leaves on Saturday before the rain on Sunday and now the lawn is covered again. We of course knew this would happen and intentionally rake more than once because otherwise we’d be drowning in leaves but it was frustrating that so many more came down so quickly!
Rave: is this the second trimester bliss everyone talks about? I am here for it!
Questions: Do you ever get used to the size comparisons getting bigger? Baby being the size of a fist or playing card or crayon just seems so wild to me. How is it so big already? In my head this baby is still so teeny tiny, even though my clothes are definitely getting tighter.
GTKY: What is your favorite Thanksgiving food? Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love it all. My absolute favorite food is the Black Friday leftover sandwich. It’s basically Ross’s “my SANDWICH?!” but without the “moist maker” lol. I, too, would have a breakdown if someone ate my post-Thanksgiving sandwich.
  • @knottie9ac43b06ca95937e With my first, I started to look noticeably pregnant (not just chubby) around 18 weeks. This is my second time around and I already look like that! My neighbors could tell from all the way across the street.  :D
Welcome to May 23! Would you mind changing your name to something that's easier to tag? Instructions are pinned at the top of the board. :)

    EDD / Weeks + Days: May 6, 14+2
Baby is the size of a: peach
    Team blue/pink/green: finding out 12/19
    Upcoming Appointments: not til December
How are you feeling?: good! Except my son gave me his cold, but that’s not baby’s fault 😂
Rants/Raves: we told my son Friday, my school kids today, then announced on Facebook and I LOVE finally being out!
    Questions:
GTKY: What is your favorite Thanksgiving food? Oh this is hard! I’m gonna say sweet potato fluff or corn casserole, only because those are hard to come by at other times of the year!

    EDD / Weeks + Days: May 17 / 12w5days
Baby is the size of a: tennis ball
    Team blue/pink/green: BLUE
    Upcoming Appointments: 30th…so far away
How are you feeling?: hungry. All the time
Rants/Raves: I’m in that weird spot in my pants don’t fit right but not really ready for maternity pants. It’s frustrating.
Questions: Has anyone else here had issues with fibroids? This is my first pregnancy and there is a fibroid under baby but they aren’t doing ultrasounds at each appointment to see if it’s growing or anything and I just don’t know if it’s normal and I’m being paranoid or what.
GTKY: What is your favorite Thanksgiving food? Deep fried turkey!!
  • @gina24c I have a 1cm fibroid and my doctors do not seem concerned at all. My mom, on the other hand, lost a pregnancy at 13W because of a grapefruit-sized fibroid encroaching on the gestational sac. I think unless the fibroid is excessively large, most doctors aren't concerned--fibroids are probably more common than most people realize. My old OB said that pregnancy can make fibroids grow, shrink, or have no effect on their size. And when you think about it, your uterus will ultimately grow to about the size of a pumpkin, so whatever masses you have will look much smaller as time goes on.

Baby is the size of a: lemon
    Team blue/pink/green: blue (via nipt)
    Upcoming Appointments: early dec
How are you feeling?: acid reflux is my biggest complaint right now. still having nausea and fatigue however it’s much more manageable this week
Rants/Raves: rants: daylight savings time with kids can suck it. Also now that I’m feeling a bit better I’m missing red wine like whoa. Raves: DH brought me home dq tonight (butterfinger blizzard)
Questions: anyone else going for a vbac? Has this been discussed elsewhere? I’m going for it so just gathering info right now!
GTKY: What is your favorite Thanksgiving food? This actually isn’t my holiday- I don’t eat Turkey, stuffing, or yams. Cheesy potatoes though I can do all day. Bonus if they have crushed lays potato chips on top to make them extra unhealthy.

@BourbonBiscuits I thought that was only if you had Covid during pregnancy, but I could def be wrong. I’ve heard that it’s recommended if you have during pregnancy for you also but mainly to prevent clots with blood flow to placenta/baby. I would just ask your ob to provide links or copies of the studies/data that supports it so you can make your own informed decision and make sure she’s aware you are baseline anemic (I’m sure she is but just in case it was overlooked).

@knottie9ac43b06ca95937e with my first I was about 20 weeks before it was noticeable and even then my scrubs could easily hide it lol. This is my 4th kid, 3rd pregnancy and I look more pregnant now than I did with my first at 20 wks. I’m sure everyone is a little different.  Our bodies are crazy!

  • @maelove I am doing a VBAC as well! I was officially "cleared" after my first ultrasound when the technician couldn't even find my CS scar (much less my myomectomy scars from 2015). I specifically chose a provider in my area who is a known VBAC advocate. We can start a VBAC thread, too!

Rants/Raves: So grateful for my husband during all this - he keeps me fed and sane!
    Questions:
GTKY: What is your favorite Thanksgiving food? I'm with @maelove. Never been a Thanksgiving food fan, I can pass on all of it. I dream of making a different type of ethnic food each year to "travel the world" but alas, my family is still married to the traditional stuff.

Rants/Raves: I've been slowly telling some friends and people outside of our families. It feels weird, but it is exciting to start to feel a little more confident in this pregnancy. NT scan and NIPT testing on Thursday, so holding my breath for that.
    Questions: Not today
GTKY: What is your favorite Thanksgiving food? Deviled eggs! Not traditional, maybe, but my family ways has them.
