Re: Weekly Check In 10/31
Today we go third row seating car shopping and I’m dreading it. Buttttt it’s necessary.

As a kid my favorite costume was a homemade scarecrow outfit that looked pretty legit with straw and everything. One year way back my friend also did sugar skull makeup on me and it turned out amazing. Unfortunately I don’t have a pic (this was pre-iPhone era).

How are you feeling?: Great! High energy, sleeping well, no really any aches and pains, no nausea.
Rants/Raves: We went to a Trunk or Treat at a church on Sunday evening, hoping it would be less stressful than trick or treating in the neighborhood tonight. Nope. It was awful. We had to wait 30 minutes to get into the event (with a 5, 2, and 1 yo), and then another line for a magic show that all the kids whined through. And then dinner was kind of a bust too. No one wanted hotdogs. But we our costumes all worked out!

We didn't do Halloween as a kid, but my favorite costume was Susan from Prince Caspian (Narnia). The movie came out when I was about 15-16, and I designed and sewed the costume. It was awesome!

My pink power rangers outfit. My cousin and I would watch power Rangers together then act out the episode after while wearing our costumes.

I was so scared of costumes and masks as a kid that I rarely trick or treated or even attended school on Halloween. My mom would let me stay home because I would be in full blown hysterics. I liked getting dressed up in my princess gowns to go to Disneyland though as a kid. We had a big costume rack in our play room. My sister always had awesome Halloween costumes though - one year she was a sunflower and my mom and grandma made the costume for her with a big sunflower crown, full body green suit and a pot on suspenders.
@miss_lynn9 I definitely didn’t word that clearly! Hahaha!
@disneybaby23 There have been moments at only 18-19 weeks (and third pregnancy to make it this far!) where I swore I can’t stretch more. But you somehow do. It’s insane. I’m glad you got a nice little vacation in!
I don't know about as a kid, but my husband and I were a rainbow (me) and leprechaun (him) one year and that was fun. I sewed strips of different colors on a red sweater and made a cloud tutu out of white and light blue tule.

I think all of my costumes growing up were homemade since both my mom and grandma sew. One that really sticks out to me as a favorite was a 50s girl with a poodle skirt because my American Girl doll had a matching one.

Probably the princess costume my mom
made me!
ETA... omg, I thought of a much better rave: I finally started feeling the baby move this past week! It's not very frequent, but it's so sweet. First felt like a little fish flipping in there, flicking and swishing its tail. I knew there had to be something better to happen this past week than sandwiches, lol.

I didn't really get into costumes as a kid; I'd just wear whatever my mom picked out for me. But I followed an online tutorial a few years back and made a bat costume by cutting up an umbrella and sewing it to a sweater dress I had. I have zero sewing skills, but I just did my best with very rough hand sewing and voila.
Glad your spotting stopped.❤️

At the time I hated it because it was hard to walk in but a sandwich hahaha My mom cut white poster board out, painted brown around it for crust, used tissue paper for lettuce, red poster board for tomatoes, and blue a giant spider on it.

For those that don't celebrate haloween, your fave costume from any event (comic cons, plays, etc..) my favorite was a costume from a play but I’ve worn it for Halloween also. It was a velvet medieval gown my mom made. It was soft and super heavy with massive sleeves.

My mom made me a fairy costume when I was six and I loved it so much. She made a romantic tutu with pink and green pastel tulle and it was just so lovely. That was probably my favourite Halloween. Good memories.
