Hi everyone! Just thought I’d create a discussion for those of us in our mid to late 30s pregnant with our first child. I’m 36. It has been a long road of TTC and then a recent miscarriage. I fell pregnant again the first regular cycle after my miscarriage. I am now 14w3d. The anxiety of another miscarriage has finally subsided now that I’ve reached the second trimester! I’m expecting a GIRL April 23 2023 🥳😍🥳😍

Re: First time mom in mid/late 30s

  • I believe there are several of us here! I am 40, and pregnant with our first (also a girl!). We have been through a lot of ups and downs, on this journey, so I definitely understand where you're coming from @godgivemebfp. **TW** we went through a miscarriage in 2020, then struggled to get pregnant again on our own. We decided to pursue IVF, had 5 egg retrievals to try and bank a few embryos, and while taking a break before moving forward with a transfer, surprise! Pregnant on our own. **End TW** The anxiety after all of that has been very real, and I don't know that it will fully go away, but every milestone does help ease my mind a little. Looking forward to sharing this journey with you!

  • Hi! I'm also AMA - 40, expecting my third baby, 4th pregnancy (TW- had a loss between my 2 girls). @godgivemebfp looks like we share a due date! I'm team green & won't know until delivery but I have 2 girls at home.

I am personally grateful to be past the NIPT testing, if one more person explained to me how "old my eggs are" I was about to lose it... I come from a family where later in life pregnancy is pretty typical. My mom had my youngest sister when she was 45- and that was nearly 30 years ago when they TRULY acted like she was a dinosaur LOL. My cousin just had her 4th at 45 - a perfectly healthy boy. So I'm not overall worried about my age so much as I am about just pregnancy/loss in general.

Will tell you I am already missing my botox injections though :P Really unfortunate they're not safe during pregnancy as I look like I've aged years already!!

  • AMA here too.  37 and pregnant with our 3rd.  Definitely always anxious about something going wrong with generalized anxiety.  @godgivemebfp welcome and hope the rest of your pregnancy goes without any issues.
  • @godgivemebfp there's a few of us in late 30's early 40's who are FTMs. Feel free to jump into the regular threads. We also have a Pregnancy After Loss thread as well as Pregnancy After Infertility.
