Pregnant after 35

Anyone still running in their second trimester?

This is my second pregnancy and I’m still trying to log as many miles as I can throughout this second trimester while I feel good .. doing about 3 miles every other day .. hoping to continue for the last few weeks before I start my third trimester.. 18 weeks currently and I’m still enjoying the run maybe not the first mile 😆but after that I hit my groove … anyone else still running ? When did you stop ?

Re: Anyone still running in their second trimester?

  • I’m not running, but I’m still doing hip hop dancing and am at 24w + 4d. I only plan to stop if it starts to become too difficult for me. A fellow dancer was dancing up until her 40th week, so I’m hoping to last quite a bit longer.

  • I am! Albeit at least 1-2 minutes slower/mile average. I’m 17 weeks with 4th pregnancy and have run through all 4 of them so far. With my 2nd I had to stop around 37 weeks because of sciatic pain. Baby #3 labor started the evening of his due date after a 6-mile walk/jog. Just sharing to say that it can be done feeling great, just depends on your body and what you’re pre-pregnancy normal was. I would say stop if/when you feel your body is strained too much with it.
  • I am theoretically at week 27… laying low this week with a bad case of bronchitis, but hoping to get a few more good runs in! With my first pregnancy I kept going for short slow runs, about 2-3 miles, until about 33 weeks when my belly just felt too heavy. I still felt good jogging last week and am planning to get back out there once this cough slows down. Have fun, take it easy, and hope you and baby continue to enjoy staying fit!!!
