Re: Product Spotlight: Diaper Bags
Later on when I can downsize some of the stuff I move to a bag like this. Still has some pockets and holds a good bit, but not quite as big.

One thing I kept in mind is that I refused to keep more than one bag. There are definitely much cuter bags out there and while my husband would absolutely take a more feminine looking bag if needed, but I wanted him to be completely comfortable with it as well.

I went with the Ryla pack and I love it. The only downside is it's a little smaller which only became an issue when she started going to daycare and needing to send all the winter gear. I just switched a a regular underarmer backpack that my husband got from his work.
I was considering getting the Parker baby backpack for the second because it's bigger. But the ones we have will work fine until she goes to daycare and needs a bigger one.
What diaper bag do you have or have had? Oh my god, I went through *so* many bags with our first, on the hunt to find the bag. I started with a messenger style - never again. It was just not comfortable or easy. I quickly moved to backpacks, and then moved through several. I never quite landed on one I liked best, so I'm excited for this thread to see what folks have been using more recently!
What style is it? Definitely going for a backpack again. I truly can't decide if I'm just going to use my typical backpack/ purse I use regularly anyway, or if I want to adopt a formal "diaper bag" again. I love being able to be all minimal so going from taking a purse just for me to being a pack mule again is not a welcome thing
Any features you would recommend? Definitely back pack/ ability to be hands free. I went in thinking I'd be fine with a messenger/ cross body and with baby carriers, needing to move quickly, etc -- backpack is key. I Also think having a pocket dedicated to the parent (keys, wallet, sunnies, etc.) for you to be able to quick-grab YOUR items so you aren't digging through baby gear is helpful.
I'm looking for a lower-profile backpack that is aesthetically pleasing... I don't think I need a dedicated bottle pocket or wipe holder (features of former bags that while nice, weren't wholly necessary). I did learn that for the most part - you need less in the bag than you think. If you're out and about, a majority of things can be backups you keep in your vehicle (presuming you aren't traveling largely by public transit). I had a Herschel knock off backpack and also liked the top opening but it was such a deep back, things did get lost.
.... I am also an admitted bag lady. I love buying backpacks/ bags/ totes/ purses. It's not unlikely I will purchase like 4 diaper bags.
Edit: Actually I might have gotten it off of Amazon. This one looks very similar to what I have. Bonus, it might actually fit in a large purse!

Hubby liked it because it was gender neutral, but I hated it. It felt like it did not carry nearly as much as its size suggested and the pockets where you could put adult stuff were either too small or had to share space with the bottles/formula.
Considering using a Skip Hop instead for this baby:

On that note, packing cubes are a game changer. It helps so much to keep everything organized in the bag.
