Trying to Get Pregnant

IF Testing & Treatment, w/o 10/10

This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ballgame. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.

Diagnosis (if you've been):

Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched):

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?):

How are things going?:

Any questions?:

GTKY:  Have you cultivated any new interests in the past few years that make you happy? What is it/are they?
History
I am doing this on my own. Left ovary and fallopian tube removed due to cyst/necrosis just after birth. Right ovary and tube still purport to function.
Began TTC in Aug '18 @ age 35
5 or 6 (or 7?!) cycles using frozen donor sperm, ICI. All BFN
Mar-Jun '19 IUIs, all BFN
Began process of referral for RE in spring of '19, blood tests confirm low AMH (.54) but all else is good.
May '19 HSG shows open tube, but ultrasound suggests fibroids
MRI in June '19 confirms two large fibroids, one growing through wall of uterus
In June '19 I move from California to Oregon, disrupting my insurance, referrals, etc. 5 months spent piecing it all back together.
Nov. '19 attempted myomectomy (vaginal approach) failed. 2nd surgery using laparoscopic method in Jan '20 is successful.
April '20 --> June '20, natural IUIs, all BFN.
July? saline ultrasound and bubble test demonstrate open tube
July '20 clomid cycle cancelled for thin lining
Aug-Oct, 3 femara cycles, all BFN
RE referral. While waiting to set up an appointment Nov-Jan,I continue with natural cycles and ICI, using a known donor, BFN...
Jan '21 more bloodwork, AMH is worse (.30), FSH high albeit not catastrophic at 13.2. hysteroscopy all good. "looks cozy!" says the RE.
Feb '21, injectables (menopur, novarel), iui, BFN (doc said the frozen donor sperm sample had the "best numbers she'd ever seen!")
Mar '21, injectables, iui cancelled due to lack of follicles, converted to at home-insem. BFN
May '21, first IVF round cancelled due to cyst.
July '21 IVF: standard antagonist. 225menupur/225gonal-f/cetrotide/5000u trigger, AFC 7; 6 days of stims. 8 eggs retrieved, 7 mature, 5 fertilize, 4 made it to blast. 3 are 4AB, 1 is 4BB. PGT-A results all abnormal.
Oct '21 somewhat improved AMH (.51) and significantly improved FSH (8.9). Maybe it's all the pills I swallow.
Dec -21, standard antagonist. 225menupur/225gonal-f/cetrotide/5000u trigger, AFC 5; 11 days of stims. retrieval yields 5, 4M, 2 reach day-6 blast (4AB & 4BB). 1 low-level mosaic (chr. 3 deletion), 1 complex abnormal.
Feb '22 FET (low-level mosaic): CP.
May '22 egg retrieval, lupron flare protocol. HGH priming for 1 month before stims; md lupron 20/20u daily; menopur 225, follistim 225, 10k trigger after 8 days of stims; AFC 10; 13 retrieved; 10 mature; 8 fertilized. All frozen at 2PN for later thaw, grow, and biopsy.
July '22 egg retrieval same protocol: 9 days of stims; AFC 8; 10 retrieved, 8 mature, 4 fertilized and frozen.
Sept '22 ER same protocol: AFC 10; 12 retrieved, 11 mature, 11 fertilized.
From the 3 retrievals, 7 survived to day 5-6 blastocyst, from which I have 2 normal embryos!
Jan 20, Fully medicated FET, baby aspirin, dexamethasone, acupuncture, and as much woo as I can stand (which isn't very much). BFN.
July 23, Natural FET + baby aspirin. BFN.

Re: IF Testing & Treatment, w/o 10/10

  • Diagnosis (if you've been): uncooperative uterus/RPL. chronic endometritis

    Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): benched

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): ingesting what feels like enough antibiotics for an elephant, but will hopefully fix my uterus

How are things going?: they are going! still having some GI stuff from all the meds, but no heartburn as of yet... 10 days down, 11 more to go... on a more fun note, i zipped in and out of chicago this weekend to see Harry Styles which was a total delight!

    Any questions?: natm

GTKY:  Have you cultivated any new interests in the past few years that make you happy? What is it/are they? Peloton! my pandemic purchase, and i love it!

@anniemarie887 i always love your general life updates. it's clear you know how to do it. as for all those antibiotics, my god, that's so rough.

Diagnosis (if you've been): 1 sad old ovary just ticking along in there making mutants every month

Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): i don't even know what my status is now. benched while i wait for FET, i guess.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): nada.

How are things going?: pretty good! still riding high on my euploids.

Any questions?: not at the present.

GTKY:  Have you cultivated any new interests in the past few years that make you happy? What is it/are they?
i realized recently that i have gone from being a person who has a few houseplants to Being a Houseplant Person, and frankly I love it. they make me so so happy. I also wish i still had the time to be doing stuff like making my own bread every week (I had a really lively sourdough starter and my bread was A+) but i'll return to that one day when my teaching life falls into some kind of reliable schedule.

  • @optimistgardener ride that high! you deserve it! i've always wanted to be a make my own bread kind of person, but besides things like banana bread, i've never tried.

and thank you for saying that you love my updates, i grew up in a very music obsessed house, and it was normal to travel for stuff when i was kid. and i've got a super eclectic music taste, ya'll have seen the pop hits updates this year lol. i was way too old to be One Direction fan, and i remember when Harry was the musical guest on SNL in 2017 i was kind of like, ewww why?! and then i put my foot in my mouth. his stripped down Tiny Desk concert is just magic, i would love an entire album like that. i also LOVE that his house/backing band is mostly women. his drummer (Sarah Jones) is AMAZING.  on a music meets literary world note - i am finally reading White Noise, b/c my ultimate favorite band LCD Soundsystem just put out a track for the Noah Baumbach film based on the book.

first video is mine, and holy hell i think i know what Beatlemania must've been like! the screaming was fever pitch level.

  • @anniemarie887 how fun! I love Chicago and seeing Harry Styles seems like a good bonus too!
@optimistgardener the description of your diagnosis made me chuckle. and yes, ride that high all day long. Your ovary isn't shooting out only mutants!

Diagnosis (if you've been): almost completely diminished ovarian reserve, LPD

    Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): TI/taking a break...i think

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): I know we're taking a break from any fertility treatments, but I was still testing opk's to see what my body was going to do on it's own, and surprise surprise I got a positive surge yesterday on CD 15. Which is pretty abnormal for me. I'm usually a later ovulator, but I guess I don't have a normal/usual anymore. We DTD last night and will again tonight. We can still try and hope for a miracle while we wait to move forward with donor eggs.

How are things going?: Life is pretty crazy! . Even though I was testing opks every day, the days just kinda snuck up on me. I guess that's what happens when having a WILD young puppy, 2 kittens and such. Things have been pretty hectic around here.  Beautiful chaos. I also realized that I'm not focusing on how shitty time of the year is for me. I was dreading it, and I still have things that trigger my grief, like how the shadows lay over the backyard in the afternoons, picture memories that pop up from 2 years ago, but I'm getting through it easier. This Saturday, Oct 15 is the Global Wave of Light. At 7:00pm all across the world candles are lit to remember all the babies gone too soon.

Any questions?: Soo, I know we're not doing any fertility treatments, but I have a crap ton of progesterone left. My Lutual phase is usually like 7 days without it. I'm still trying to decide if I should still use it to extend my LP, or if I want to see how my body does on it's own. I would hate to start my period 7 DPO and then wonder if I messed things up. arg. any suggestions?

GTKY:  Have you cultivated any new interests in the past few years that make you happy? What is it/are they?
Other than TTGP? lol, Um, I guess gardening has been a new found hobby. I started my first garden during the pandemic, and have been pretty successful. Although by the end of the summer I'm kind of over it. lol. I have a zucchini plant that just keeps producing and it's a freaking monster. I'm almost ready to pull it. Also, having 2 tomato plants that produce baby tomatoes, Midnight Snacks and Sweet Millions, are a LOT of work to pick so many little ones. My 1 big beefsteak plant didn't do too well.

  • I’m 2 DPO and I’ve noticed a little spotting. I’m known to have low progesterone and usually start spotting 6 dpo. I think this answers my own question on if I want to use progesterone during my TWW. I will start it tonight :/

  • @bearmomma1 oh man. i am sorry. while low progesterone is one of those 'easy' fixes in our universe, right now as you try to navigate this waiting time before embracing the whole donor embryo world, and as you try keep things low stress, having to worry about supplementing progesterone totally sucks.
