  • Also my son and I just saw the craziest thing! Driving into town to go to the grocery store and I see a lady at the park on my right start running towards the road...all of a sudden a dog runs across the road in front of me and starts attacking another dog who was on the opposite side of the street, walking with his owner who was riding a bicycle. Thank goodness the speed limit in that area is only 35 or else I definitely would not have been able to stop in time and would have hit that dog. And it looked like both owners and dogs were ok...but very scary to witness!
  • @nsk489 wow that is scary!  Both the dog running across traffic and the attacking another dog!  I am glad everyone was OK though!
  • I am doing better since last night.

My daughter (almost 4) was supposed to have her gymnastics makeup class today, but this morning she bumped her head on the table and was making a huge deal about it, so I canceled her makeup and we forfeit the money for that class :(  oh well.  She is fine and that's what matters.  Anyone else's kid cry that they WANT to go to the doctor when they are hurt or sick?  No?  Just my weirdo?  😆

My son (11 months) took another step today!  He has been taking one step her and there the last 2 weeks but that's all we get.  I'm fine with it.  No rush for him to start running.  He has been super whiny lately, though, and I'm over it.  Like the instant I put him down he starts screaming.  He is only happy while being held, eating, in the bath, or sleeping.  Otherwise all I get is screaming.  Ear piercing shrieking.  Ugh, it takes such a toll dealing with that all day.

Remind me why I'm doing this to myself again???   🤣
  • @scaredunprepared glad you’re feeling better! And yeahhhh, why would anyone do this again??? When my son was little (littler, he’s still little lol) we decided to be one and done because it was just too hard. I know we went through it but I don’t really remember the intense lack of sleep, being tied to feeding and nap schedules, endless diaper changes, crying, messy blowouts, spit up… we must all be insane to do this on repeat.

  • @nsk489 eek. Scary!
@scaredunprepared I work with a lot of 3 year olds who love visiting the nurse. That is a rough phase but thankfully the whiney stage ends eventually.

My son had “school pictures” at his daycare and I’m my freakin gosh they are soooo cute! I cannot handle it. Those photographers are miracle workers.

Today was our last day with kids before fall break and I did my favorite science experiment with them….just a partial day for planning tomorrow and I’m off the the week!
  • @etnyah so you thought you were one and done, too, eh?  🤣  We must be gluttons for punishment!

@iiirene glad she isn't the only 3 year old who thinks every bump and bruise needs to be addressed by a doctor or nurse lol.  Enjoy your fall break!!!

@scaredunprepared lolll yep! Before my son I always thought I wanted two kids, and then he was born and I was like “nope, that’s it!” For a loooong time. I think the passing of time and a selective memory gave me that baby fever again. We’re seriously done after this baby though. For real!

  • It’s amazing how easy it is to forget most things about pregnancy/birth/parenting. I don’t remember being uncomfortable or complaining at the end of my pregnancy and my husband quickly disagreed 😆
  • @etnyah lol I said the same after #2, but then I wanted another baby almost immediately!  🤦‍♀️
  • @acleverusername I love that you’re doing that! I think you’ve inspired me for when people start asking
  • @acleverusername 🤣🤣 Braino! Amazing.

  • I’m currently sitting in my bathroom with the shower on full heat because I most certainly got a cold either from my son or my students. I hate being sick and I really hate being sick and pregnant. Hopefully I rebound as fast as my son and not of fast as they kids at school. The cough they’ve been spreading around there has been really taking them out.
  • I my son slept past 6! Woohoo! It’s 6:45 and he’s still sleeping. I of course woke up for no apparent reason at 5:30 but at least I can drink my coffee in peace this morning.
  • @iiirene I hope you feel better!!!!!  And yay for drinking coffee in peace.  I woke up my son screaming in his pack n play.  He had an explosive poop and got it EVERYWHERE.   He needed an emergency bath and I am just throwing away his sleeper!  Hopefully the day gets better from here.

My daughter had a sleepover with MIL, and we can't get in touch with her this morning.  We have been trying since 8.  Three different people have tried to call and text MIL.  When should we worry and just go over there?

  • @scaredunprepared oh jeez how nerve wrecking. Is it unusual? Does your MIL usually pick up / respond quickly? If yes, I’d definitely go over and check on things.

  • @scaredunprepared I would probably go over there if it were me. Just to make sure everything is ok.
  • @iiirene @acleverusername well she called us back shortly after I posted.  Her phone was under a pillow on the couch and her ringer was on low so she didn't hear it.  I wasn't too worried because I figured she was just busy or something, but everyone else was panicking.  I'm just glad everything is fine!

@scaredunprepared I’m so glad everything turned out ok. My brain tends to jump to worst case scenarios when people don’t answer their phones. Thanks, anxiety
  • @etnyah how exciting! We have always found girl names way easier than boy as well.. my husband and I joke that if either of our first 2 had been boys we'd still be sitting in the hospital debating names...
