Potty Training Daycare

I’ve seen a lot of potty training advice but still needing advice bcus my situation is a little different. My son is 26 months old and we’re starting a new daycare next week where they are working on potty training for all the kids. They only allow pull ups and take them to the bathroom every 30 minutes. Now my son is a little speech delayed and we weren’t thinking of potty training until 2.5 years or when his speech improved. So now I don’t know if I should just copy their method at home or just try to full on potty train him already using other methods. TIA!

He can use sign language or certain noises or a word that doesn’t sound anything like “potty” or “poop” to communicate that he needs to go. A speech delay isn’t a reason to delay potty training, in my opinion.
