    EDD / Weeks + Days: May 5 / 8W3D
Baby is the size of a: penny
    Team blue/pink/green: finding out
    Upcoming Appointments: Thursday!
How are you feeling?: Nausea and fatigue have gotten more intense this week, but both are manageable. I'm excited and nervous for my first appointment because my provider will tell me if I'm eligible for a VBAC. My provider is the unofficial VBAC guru in my area and I specifically switched to him because of that. I had a CS with my first and a uterine surgery before that, and based on my pre-pregnancy appointment my provider sounded optimistic, but he would still read my surgery report and let me know for sure at our first appointment.
Rants/Raves: Just found out I won't be getting an ultrasound at the first appointment...boo. Fortunately there is an outside private clinic very close to me.
    Questions: nope
GTKY: What is the dumbest/silliest way you've ever injured yourself? I fractured my finger playing Wii Tennis because I swung the remote into my bedpost. :|

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 5/20, 6w2d

Baby is the size of an: earring back

    Team blue/pink/green: finding out

    Upcoming Appointments: Had one today!

How are you feeling?: Pretty miserable. Nausea has kicked in full force. I also have near constant pain in/around my stomach, unsure if it's just a messed up GI tract, gas, cramps, or what else. Not super fun though.

Rants/Raves: Had my first appointment with the RE this morning (because of a history of MC). Baby is looking healthy and happy so far and measuring a couple days ahead! I'm not sure I'll ever totally relax, but I let out a small sigh of relief at the beautiful picture.

Questions: Anyone else with stomache issues have any recommendations? I'm taking B6 and unisom and a probiotic and going to start taking benefiber.

GTKY: What is the dumbest/silliest way you've ever injured yourself? I broke two toes running into a chair while chasing my cat.

    Rants/Raves:
    Questions:
GTKY: What is the dumbest/silliest way you've ever injured yourself? I jumped off a moving golf cart when I was a teenager. We were not on the grass but on pavement.

Baby #3: EDD May 2023; MC October 2022

  • @cait32 have you had any boys before? I wouldn't do it if I had, because I hear that's where the results can get messed up. But I haven't read about it in years, so maybe it's gotten more advanced? I'm tempted now that you've mentioned it. But I also feel like I can wait 5 weeks and save myself $100...

Baby is the size of a: sweet pea
    Team blue/pink/green: haven't decided yet
    Upcoming Appointments: Oct 18
How are you feeling?: Just tired all the time. Only semi interested in food. Tummy is rumbling but no nausea yet.
Rants/Raves: Why are people such bad drivers now?? I swear, now that I'm driving for two, I'm so much more aware of all the idiots that are putting me in danger. I almost want to get one of those baby on board stickers now!
    Questions:
GTKY: What is the dumbest/silliest way you've ever injured yourself? I was doing a Barre video and they were doing like these low alternating jumps that realllly stretched your hips. Definitely tore my hip flexor and needed physical therapy for a few months 🤦‍♀️
  • @cait32 totally understand!

Baby is the size of a: bloop

    Team blue/pink/green: green

Upcoming Appointments: a little telehealth informational thing this week and then the ultrasound in 2.5 weeks

How are you feeling?: nauseated, tired. My 3 year old has gotten a LOT of screen time today.

Rants/Raves: My 3 year old announced that the future baby’s room is “also my room” and she “love[s] it because it’s beautiful,” and when we told her she actually only has one room that is hers she said, “No that room IS mine.” Help.

Questions: Anyone got any good books for toddlers to introduce the idea of getting a sibling?

GTKY: What is the dumbest/silliest way you've ever injured yourself? Was trying to get a piece of tape off a freezer shelf and stabbed my finger with a knife. It wasn’t a big cut but it hit a nerve and then every time I touched the spot on my finger it would send nerve pain down my whole finger for about two months. I never got the tape off the thing.

How are you feeling?: pretty crampy and cruddy yesterday, but ok today. So tired.
Rants/Raves: we have FOUR pitching machine baseball games this week and we’re all so cranky from being out of routine already.
    Questions:
GTKY: What is the dumbest/silliest way you've ever injured yourself? I fell up the stairs in middle school and bruised my knee cap on the metal shoe guard thing. It hurt so bad.
  • @abjm0325 I had such bad stomach pains at week 5 I made an appt at the obgyn… told me it was gas 🥲 I stopped taking magnesium (which I took everyday for the last 4 years), started eating 5 prunes at 3:00 pm, and stretching and it’s been so much better!

Upcoming Appointments: My first appointment is October 3rd

How are you feeling?: Okay so far! Some nausea comes and goes. I was sick with my first until 17 weeks and it never stopped with my last pregnancy so just waiting for the ball to drop and it to hit this time around

    Rants/Raves: Nothing really

    Questions: n/a

GTKY: What is the dumbest/silliest way you've ever injured yourself? I broke my back riding a snowmobile. Nothing cool happen we just road it into the ditch and my back broke. Seriously the lamest story ever 😂

Rants/Raves: took a trip to the zoo today with DD, she had tons of fun and loved all the animals.

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: What is the dumbest/silliest way you've ever injured yourself? When I was a kid learning to ride a bike, I was enthralled with watching my wheels spin in my shadow and ran into the back of a parked trailer. Cut my forehead open pretty good and I still have a scar on my head to this day from it.
  • FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM
    EDD / Weeks + Days: 8+3
Baby is the size of a: dime I think
Team blue/pink/green: plan on finding out but team pink
Upcoming Appointments: today! It’s my first one and I’m really nervous
How are you feeling?: awful. Nausea hit hard this week
    Rants/Raves: I miss pizza so bad….
Questions: Will this nausea ever go away? Will I ever get back to feeling at least a little ok?
GTKY: What is the dumbest/silliest way you've ever injured yourself? I hit the edge of the footboard of our bed and get bruises on my thigh and it’s an on going problem lol
  • @knottiefe62dac9d611233e Pizza is somehow one of my only safe foods. I'm pretty sure I'm having a five-year-old boy :p When I was pregnant with my daughter, the nausea turned off like a switch the day I hit 12 weeks. It was so weird!
Also, would you mind changing your name to something other than "knottie" with a bunch of letters and numbers? Instructions are pinned to the top of this board  :)
  • FTM/STM/TTM+: STM
    EDD / Weeks + Days: May 2nd, 8w6
Baby is the size of a: kidney bean
Team blue/pink/green: hoping for pink, finding out in a few weeks from NIPT
Upcoming Appointments: Progesterone check this week, and NIPT in 2 weeks at 11 wk appointment
How are you feeling?: I’ve been taking unisom/b6 so the nausea is much better most of the time and I’m sleeping better but my hips hurt all night. I’ve had way more gas and constipation this week, and my appetite is very hit and miss. Working through the worst anxiety now since we lost the last one around 8wks and I just want to know that there’s still a heartbeat now.
Rants/Raves: My normal level of patience is gone, and it feels like lately there have been some people that just want to see how far they can push me and I’m so done with all of it.
Questions: Is anyone considering an at home Doppler? Part of me wants to be able to reassure myself but the other part feels ridiculous
GTKY: What is the dumbest/silliest way you've ever injured yourself? Hard to pick a winner but let’s go with the time I tried to take a boulder as a jump to impress the boy I was skiing with when I was 14. I hit the jump just fine but landed in a patch of ice and proceeded to break my hand in the fall.
  • @bunniecee I used an at home Doppler a bit with my last pregnancy, partly for reassurance, but also so my husband could hear the HB. Being a pandemic pregnancy, he couldn't come to any appointments, so it was nice to be able have a way for him to hear her as well. That being said, I still have it and will probably use it this go around as well as it's reassuring to hear the little heartbeat for sure.

EDD / Weeks + Days: Due Date: May 12, just confirmed. 7w 4d.
Baby is the size of a: blueberry
Team blue/pink/green: finding out at NIPT
Upcoming Appointments: just got done with our first appointment!
How are you feeling?: Great! So relieved to have had a first ultrasound that has confirmed everything is looking good and the baby has a strong heartbeat. It’s all feeling a lot more real suddenly, but in an exciting way.
    Rants/Raves: none right now
    Questions: also none right now!
GTKY: What is the dumbest/silliest way you've ever injured yourself? Gave myself a 3rd degree burn riding on the back of a moped when I was in 5th grade because my leg kept bumping the tail pipe.

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 7w3d May 15
Baby is the size of a: a piece of macaroni
    Team blue/pink/green: finding out
    Upcoming Appointments: 10/14
How are you feeling?: Exhausted and very sensitive to smell. Put a new bar of soap in our shower and I thought DH had sprayed some sort of febreeze in our whole bedroom, it was awful
Rants/Raves: Rant - I feel hungry all the time but nothing ever sounds good and nothing is ever filling enough. Rave - work has been crazy which makes the weeks go by faster so I can hurry up and spend time with my family during the weekends.
Questions: Has anyone ever done the Target car seat exchange with the discount? We have a pilot so theoretically DS1 can go in the 3rd row, but we've been looking at the Diono (sp?) car seats since they are slimmer. Does the exchange program happen twice a year? I just missed out on it this past week, but we wanted to do more research.
GTKY: What is the dumbest/silliest way you've ever injured yourself? In high school, I snapped my IT band and had a partial tear in my meniscus. It was caused by dancing (show choir) but the snap/tear themselves happened when I went from sitting to standing in choir. I had to be in a brace for a few months so for all our competitions, I had to hop out on stage for my solo then hop back into the wings.
  • @gingermama46 I missed it too. My sons infant seat expires six months before this baby arrives 🙄 I didn’t trade it yet though because I am not sure yet what I want to replace it with.

Team blue/pink/green: we will find out
Upcoming Appointments: Oct 25 (why so far away!?)
How are you feeling?: like most of you, I feel like complete garbage. The fatigue and nausea are borderline killing me.
Rants/Raves: I agree, first tri. 6 more weeks and then maybe I’ll clean my house and be good at work and being a mom again?
    Questions: none
GTKY: What is the dumbest/silliest way you've ever injured yourself? Trying to snow board on a pretty advanced hill my first time- I fell and knocked myself right out and slid down the entire thing unconscious. Not my smartest move.

How are you feeling?: tired and achey

    Questions: n/a

GTKY: What is the dumbest/silliest way you've ever injured yourself?    😂 I fractured my wrist in my sleep in highschool, it got caught in my headboard when I rolled over one night

Baby is the size of a: blueberry

    Team blue/pink/green: not sure yet

Upcoming Appointments: 10/11 will be our first ultrasound and maternal appt

How are you feeling?: exhausted! But starting to get excited about everything that’s about to come.

    Rants/Raves: none right now!

Questions: I want to find out more about nutrition options besides breastfeeding. I had a bilateral mastectomy 3 years ago when I was 31 years old, so I won’t be able to nurse. Really not sure how to navigate best formulas, getting breast milk donated, or other options. I wish there was more info or groups out there for young breast cancer survivors who are navigating pregnancy.

GTKY: What is the dumbest/silliest way you've ever injured yourself?: I had to go to urgent care after some questionable knife maneuvers while trying to core an avocado. Sliced pretty deep into my finger & had to get it glued back together. Worth it though- the avocado was delicious & perfectly ripe!
  • @fmmccollum88 I'll start a product spotlight thread for bottle/formula feeding supplies (the product spotlights don't -have- to be monthly: that's just what the guidelines I copied from past BMBs suggested).  :)
  • First time mom.
    May 15ish / 7w2d
Baby is the size of macaroni noodle.
My first US + OB visit is on Oct 10 (beginning of week 9).
How are you feeling?: Like 💩
Rants/Raves: I don't know how people go to work and function as a parent to other children while feeling like this. I am not vomiting, but I am not a very productive team member rn... I also read that first trimester symptoms peak around week nine. Yay.

GTKY: What is the dumbest/silliest way you've ever injured yourself? Uh.... honestly? Marrying a man that I already knew was a liar..... Don't worry. This was my first husband, and over a decade ago. 🗓️ I have, luckily, recovered and improved my selection skills with husband #2.
  • @radioactivet I have two kids already and it's HARD to parent them in first tri. I'm in bed by 8:30.

Rants/Raves: we are starting over (our youngest is 11 & oldest is 20 & have 4 kids total) so it’s all a whirlwind… and we haven’t told the kids yet.

How are you feeling?: good! DS (13mo) has HFM so that’s been brutal but I’ve enjoyed the time off work
Rants/Raves: excited for another baby. Annoyed with people saying “you do know how that happens, right” whenever we tell them we’re having another baby. 🙄
    Questions:
